(oh we're gonna do this ok)
Selene shifted her head back. "There were some in my village," She gave a small pause. "Yet I could never pick them myself because of their briars. My father would always have to pick them for me so I could smell their sweet scent inside during the nights whilst I rested."

"Why did your father have to pick them for you? Surely you could have lived through the slight pain the roses brought?" Medusa asked with a slight disapproving look to the girl. Even if she was blind, it didn't mean she had to be weak.
She sighed. "He insisted himself, if it was up to him, I would never leave my village." She twisted some hair in her fingers. "I am his only child, and he would lay down his life for me."
"Hm… then what is the reason you left? It sounds like this father cares about you… quite a lot. He is probably worried sick." She turned her stone-grey eyes onto the girl, squinting.
"Well, I simply don't like it." She stated bluntly. "I'm not a person to him, only a mere liability."
"Right, that seems a little jump-to-conclusion-y. Surely you must like something about him. And he protected you from many things when you were younger, yes?"
"I do, he's good at what he did, yet now, he doesn't seem to understand I'm not helpless." She sighed, lacing her fingers together.
