River stood up and placed the handle of the rod in a holding place. He took a deep breath in and yelled out to the lake. "I LOVE CAS GIBBONS AND I WILL ALWAYS LOVE HIM FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE AND TILL THE DAY I DIE! HE'S MINE SO IF YOU TAKE I WON'T FORGIVE YOU!"
Cas froze, flushing bright red when he registered what River was saying. "Ohhh my god…" He sighed, hiding his red face in his hands.
RIver's voice echoed across the lake and you could hear aplodding and cheers from all the other activities. River smiled grew wider.
"River…" Cas whined, peering up at him from between his fingers to keep his face hidden.
“Yes?” He turned to look at Cas with a smile.
Cas just whined and hid his face again, blushing harder. "Why… why you gotta… you know…"
"Wait, were you not okay with that? I'm sorry I rushed like that without asking you!" River bit his lip while he crawled in front of Cas.
"N-No, no… It's okay…" He glanced up again. "I just… I dunno. God, my heart's racing now." He laughed weakly.
I sigh of relief came out of River's mouth. "That's a good thing hun," River chuckled.
Cas hugged River tightly after a moment, burying his face in his shoulder. "I love you…" He mumbled.
River wrapped his arms and smiled softly. "I love you too my darling," River mumbled with a slight chuckle. "I will never stop loving you."
"I hope not… then we'd both be quite sad, wouldn't we?" Cas lifted his head up to kiss River, hearing clapping from the few people who were still watching them.
River smiled into the kiss then pulled away and looked into Cas's eyes. "Indeed I would be extremely depressed if this love ended. Which it won't. I promise you that," He smiled before taking his fishing rod and holding onto it as he sat next to River.
Cas sat close to River, leaning his head on the other's shoulder while they continued to fish. "D'you think we'll be quite popular here now after your little announcement?"
River scratched the back of his neck and chuckled. "I don't know about that, but last year a guy made the same announcement to a different person of course. I think it happens maybe twice every year. Of course, if you don't want to be the center of attention then I would gladly take you away from everyone, so we can be together in peace. How does that sound?" he asked with a smirk on his lips.
"It's fine, really." Cas kissed his cheek. "I honestly don't mind it all that much. It was just a little surprising."
"I had to make sure everyone knew that I was with you and you were with me," River teased.
Cas rolled his eyes. "Even without that, I think it was pretty obvious."
"Still, I just had to make sure," the bell rang for dinner and everyone started to clean up before leaving. River did the same, putting everything back where he found it. "Looks like it's time for dinner. Ready?"
"Yeah, I'm ready." Cas took River's hand and followed him to the dining hall once he'd composed himself again.
Once River opened the door his eyes lip up. "YES YES YES YES YES! fired rice!" River ran over to the table and grabbed a plate stacking it with fried rice then sitting down.
Cas shook his head a bit, laughing as he got a small plate of rice. "I take it you like fried rice?" He asked, sitting beside River.
River nodded frantically as he started to eat with joy. “I love fried rice. Not more than I love you of course.”
"Of course. I mean, you proclaimed your love to me over the lake, not to fried rice." Cas laughed again and took a bite. "Kinda weird texture."
"That's the point. It has egg and the fried is fired not cooked and it has pork in it too! That's the best part," River fantasized.
