Fun jumped when he was touched, shrinking back even though she was just a child.
"I, ah-" Fun cleared his throat, trying to keep it from closing more than it already had.
"It says that, that your wish will come t-true if you fill one of the cups with your, your tears." He stumbled over his words, taking his time.
Elliot turned around. "Huh?" HE said in confusion. "Oh, It says 'For those who would like to wish at the altar… may you fill up a cup to your right with your tears and set it on the altar. You can then wish for whatever and it will come true'" But…How will he? Actually. That'll be easy. He cries a lot so..he either has to get hurt or be verbally hurt.
"So I have to cry?" Lily tilted her head, looking for all the world like a cold, innocent little girl. "That seems easy." Her voice echoed through the cold shrine. She realized that there was someone else in the room, a little younger than the first guy, and jumped. She hadn't heard him come in. "Oh. Hi," she said, trying for a smile. There was nothing to worry about, right? "I'm, uh, I'm Lily. What are your names?"
Narthelliot looked at the little girl. "Oh. My name is Narthelliot. Call me Elli or Elliot." He tried to smile at the little girl. "Nice to meet you Lily. What brings you guys here?" He asked.
(Sorry its short. Im jumping from homework to here.)
Lily blinked. "That's a weird name," she said bluntly. She looked at him as if he were crazy. "Why are we all here? For the Shrine, silly, obviously."
Fun stayed quiet, letting the other two talk as he tried to figure out what he would do. He backed away from both of them, arms wrapped around himself again. He shouldn't have come here. He had thought coming here the last day this place was open would mean he would be alone, but he was wrong. But the rain… It was trapping him in here. He let out a small sound, eyes watering.
Narthelliot looked at the older male in the room. "Are you ok? You look scared…" Natrhelliot said. Of course he was scared. He was stuck in a room with two people he didn't know. Narthelliot was also scared out of his mind. But he knew how to control it. He sighed. "I guess we'll be stuck here for a while-" Narthelliot said, sitting down. "And we all came here for the wish right? You sure this thing is even real?" Narthelliot said, sighing. "Who am I kidding…We are all here for a wish…But how will we fill it up with tears…?" Narthelliot continued to talk.
"By crying, duh." Lily moved closer to the inscription, shivering as a gust of wind blew onto her tiny, wet body. She pulled her blanket closer around herself, studying the words with narrowed eyes. She wasn't reading it, she was trying to see if she should do it. "Where did it say the cups were again?" She looked around, spotted a few goblets, and picked one up. "So, I have to drink my tears? That's easy enough." She looked at the Elliot guy, the one with the weird name. "Can you hit me please? Hard? So that I cry?"
Elliot stopped. "Hit you? Um…Are you sure?" He didn't want to hurt the little girl. "Ok but…Im sorry?" He said, taking off his belt. He shivered. Im going to regret this… He thought, closing his eyes and hitting her with his belt.
"Yes, I'm sure." Lily stared at him. He was skinny, and didn't seem to have much muscle. Would this even work? Unless she had a good motive, she could rarely force herself to cry, if ever.
She felt an exploding pain on the side of her face, and her eyes watered. She summoned up every bit of sorrow, anger, and unfairness, and tried to force the tears out.
