Grayson jerked awake suddenly with a gasp, nearly falling off the couch in an attempt to get away from Seth. He glanced around, fear and confusion clouding his vision. It was cold all of a sudden and he realized he had backed into the other edge of the couch, blinking a couple times and trying to focus. It took him a minute to actually comprehend where he was, hands still shaking and breathing unsteadily.
Seth starts a little when the other tried to leap out of his grasps, his eyes wide with surprise. "Love? Are you okay?" He asks gently, making sure to give Grayson space. His eyes are filled with concern, love and worry. Did he do something? Or was it just a nightmare? He couldn't tell.
Grayson squeezed his eyes shut momentarily, nodding, then shaking his head. “I don’t..I can’t..” he trailed off, burying his face in his knees. He shook his head again, clenching his fist around his shirt.
Seth was quiet, his eyes gentle. "Can't what, love?" He asks gently, his eyes soft with concern. He sat at the others side, his eyes filled with love and concern for Grayson. He didn't want to pressure, but he did want to offer whatever support he could.
“What time is it?” He asked quietly, letting out a shaky breath. He tried standing up but was hit with a wave of dizziness, forcing him back down onto the couch.
"About 2:30." He says gently, his eyes filled with concern. "Dove what's wrong?" He asks quietly. "Are you okay?"
“Yeah..yeah. We should leave in a minute.” He said quietly, avoiding looking at Seth. It was a dream..it’s not real.. He thought, shuddering as he remembered it. It felt real though..it looked real. You don’t know what’s he’s like when he’s not around you. He managed to stand this time without getting dizzy and began walking towards his room.
Seth gazed at him before nodding a little. "Alright, love." He says quietly. He smiled a little bit before looking down. He looked so frightened… Did I do something? Is he okay? Was it just a nightmare? He wonders ot himself, watching Grayson go to his room.
Grayson changed into some warmer clothes, slipping a hoodie on and glancing at himself in the mirror. Weak.. He flinched slightly, tears gathering in his eyes. He grabbed his bag and walked downstairs. "Ready?" He asked quietly, looking anywhere but at Seth.
Seth waited patiently before looking up at the other when he heard him come down. "Babe…" He says softly, walking to Grayson's side. "Is everything okay?" He asks gently, making sure to keep his space. He didn't want to crowd Grayson, or make him feel cornered. Seth kept himself open, willing to help Grayson with whatever he needed.
“Yeah..I’ll explain..later maybe.” He murmured, turning his lips up in a quick smile before looking down again and putting his hands in his pockets. “You didn’t do anything though.” Grayson added, walking out the door and waiting for Seth.
Seth nods, his eyes full of concern. "Alright." He mutters quietly, his eyes gentle. He walks after the other, fixing his hoodie a little bit before standing beside Grayson. He offers his hand to take, a little smile on his lips.
Grayson looked down at his hand for a moment before taking Seth’s hand lightly, making it so he could let go easily if he wanted to. His hands were still shaking a bit and he let out a breath before beginning to walk.
Seth saddened a little bit. The other seemed so shaky after his dream. Now he seemed terrified of Seth, never making eye contact and holding his hand loosely. He shut his eyes before inhaling. "So I uh- I have to take the job tonight… Dad rarely contacts me twice in one day." He mutters. "So it's probably urgent."
“Oh..that’s okay..” Grayson murmured, sounding disappointed. “You’re coming back in the morning, right?” His voice trembled slightly. A tear rolled down his cheek and he wiped it away quickly, looking away from Seth. Hold yourself together. Just make it through this first class. He gripped Seth’s hand tighter, trying to keep it from shaking.
Seth nods. "Of course I'll be back. Don't worry, love." He smiles gently, his eyes warm and filled with compassion. He saw the tear and he becomes concerned. "Love… Is something going on?" He asks gently.
Grayson shook his head on an instinct. Just leave it alone.. He thought, “I’m fine. It happens all the time..” He fell silent after that, watching his feet as they walked downstairs and towards the college.
He nods before hesitating and looking around. He saw the college before turning small. He looks at Grayson. "Where do you want me to hide?" He asks curiously.
Grayson picked him up and set him gently hidden in the crook of his shoulder, hidden by the hood. “Right here is fine.” He said quietly.
His first class went by painfully slowly and almost put him to sleep. He waited until everyone had left before taking Seth and setting him on the desk, resting his chin on his hands. “When do you have to leave?”
Seth leans into his hand as he's picked up before settling onto Graysons shoulder. He smiled a little bit, a quiet sigh leaving his lips. He slept through most of the lesson, before startling awake at the end of the class. He rubs his eyes and looks up at Grayson. "I'll have to leave around 9." He mumbles.
“Okay. Are you hungry? I was going to get coffee if you want anything.” He replied tiredly, gathering his stuff up and rubbing Seth’s head gently with his thumb.
Seth shook his head. "Not really." He mumbles. He leans into the gentle touches, his eyes shutting as he relaxes. He never refused food. But he didn't feel hungry. He was nervous about seeing his father.
Grayson continued stroking his hair, frowning lightly. “Are you okay?” He asked quietly, not feeling quite as on edge as he was before.
"Mhm…" He mumbles, "Just… I dunno. Tired?" He shrugged a little bit before leaning into his hand.
“You can go back to sleep, okay? I’ll put you in my pocket, it’s warmer in there.” He said, picking up his stuff before lifting Seth and gently holding him in his hand inside his pocket.
