AAAA! NO! DON'T TOUCH ME!
Xiomara screamed as she is dragged out of her room by an unknown force and then thrown down the stairs. No! Please! I didn't do it
Matthew jumped and sat upright, eyes wide as saucers at her screaming in his mind. He didn’t know what was going on, but it didn’t sound good by any means.
Xiomara? What’s going on? Are you alright?
He asked through his thoughts again, grimacing when his head started hurting again, a sign he should stop talk to her soon otherwise massive headache would be back.
There is complete silence. No sound at all. Suddenly, all the connection to Xiomara is lost. No more pain.
Xiomara?!
He tried to shout her name is his head but there was no response. Immediately he assumed the worst and he furiously blinked back tears for the alien in his head he had only just met. All he could do was hope she was still alive, though he knew it wasn’t likely with the way the invisible signal was cut off, it was way too sudden.
Suddenly, the captain yelled. "Matthew, we are here."
He floated out of his cabin and to the control room where the captain was, showing him the sketch of where to land and telling the crew to don’t leave until he tells them too. He was still quite sad about his friend but now he had a mission, to find her and stop this war. To do that first he had to have equipment, he grabbed a small gun just for safety and some armor before jamming a bag full of his most important things, his papers.
A loud whine filled the air again. H-hello? Matthew? Are you there?
The loud whine was back and he clutched his head until it passed, happy to hear her voice again.
Xiomara? Is that you? What’s going on? Why did you disappear like that? What happened?
He sat back on his bed as he waited to her response, tossing in the headache medicine just in case before zipping the bag full of papers shut.
(Yo?)
(I am so freaking sorry)
(It’s alright)
Are you almost here? We are under attack! Please…get here soon.
Xiomara screamed as her house was hit by some sort of fireball.
We’re coming Xiomara! Just please hang on for as long as you can, fat to safety!
He pulled his bag into his back and floated out of the room, going to the control room and hoping with all his might that they were close to the planet.
Xiomara screamed again as she saw her hometown being burnt to the ground. Suddenly, a loud pop filled the air. "You creatures are dead to me!" A man yelled. Humans?
WHY DID YOU SEND HUMANS AFTER US? ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME?
He furrowed his brows and thought, responding back urgently.
I promise we sent no one! Those aren’t our people! Stay alive Xiomara, your planet is coming into view and we just have to land!
The captain piloted the ship closer to the planet, dipping into the atmosphere and looking around for a place to land. The burning town caught his attention and soon they had touched down, Matthew being the first to spring out of the ship.
We’re here! Where are you?
Xiomara ran in front of the ship and knocked on the window of it. "Please! Come out!"
Matthew opened the door on the side and jumped to the ground, his bag of papers in a bag on his back. “Xiomara?” He asked lightly, not even knowing if she could understand him.
Xiomara stares at Matthew. A blush covers her face. "Yes it is me."
A smile crossed his face and he looked over her, the thrill of documenting a new species getting him overly excited. He walked a few steps closer to her, the rest of the crew staying put inside the ship.
"Okay listen. We are going to go under some serious heat so I want you to be prepared."
“What’s going on?” He asked, immediately the curious scientist look vanishing in place of a mostly courageous but still worried look. Matthew held tightly onto the small gun he packed and motioned for a few more of the crew members to come out of the ship.
Xiomara stares at Matthew. "That gun won't protect from what is about to happen."
He shrugged slightly, “It’s better than nothing.” Even then, he slipped the gun into a pouch on his bag and watched as a few other crew mates came out to join him. All he was waiting for was for Xiomara to explain what was going to happen.
Xiomara took a deep breath and grabbed Matthew's gun. "Follow me. But keep your friends here. I don't trust them."
“I know her,” He explained to the confused crew, “Just..stay here and don’t leave me behind.” A confused look crossed his face as she grabbed his gun, but he didn’t stop her, nodding, “Let’s go.”
