Lucifer paused- "I was an angel once." She hummed, smiling.

"R-Really…?" Nathaniel looked up at Lucifer, rubbing at his eyes a bit. He was still having trouble focusing on her face, and he seemed to be exhausted. The streets weren't treating him well. "What happened?"

"Of course, dear!" She smiled happily. "I- I don't really know. I just saw you here today."

"No, no… I mean what happened to you?" He asked. "Why… w-why aren't you an angel anymore?" He coughed a bit, shivering where he was curled up on the ground.

"I- I got jealous of humans, and I was mean, and I was being an idiot." She muttered.

"Oh… you shouldn't be mean, miss. It's not very nice." Nathaniel yawned a bit and coughed again, curling his crumpled wings around himself to feel more secure.

Lucifer sighed. "I know, and I regret it." She muttered, picking the small boy in her arms, and sighed lightly.

"Mm…" Nathaniel closed his eyes when Lucifer picked him up, letting his wings hang limp behind him. Thankfully, they weren't long enough to trip the woman up as they dangled.

Lucifer snapped and they were back at her house, and she sat the young boy down on a bed, tucked him in, and sighed.
Cerberus formed into a small puppy, and curled next up to him, smiling.

Nathaniel curled up into the covers, relaxing a bit now that he was more comfortable. He sighed softly in content, wrapping his arms around the puppy with a soft trill. It didn't take him long to pass out where he lay, which wasn't surprising considering the condition he was in.

Cerberus purred- even though she was a dog, she still purred and nuzzled his neck softly, smiling.

Nathaniel was completely out for hours. He hadn't slept properly in months, after all, and his body was catching up on some well needed rest. He awoke again late in the morning, still groggy and weak.

Cerberus was laying on his chest, and she licked his face.

"Mm… where am I…?" Nathaniel asked weakly, glancing around the room. "I don't have a bed…" He sat up a bit, clearly confused.

Cerberus popped into her normal form, sitting up next to him and she cocked her head to the side. "In the Castle, of course!" She said, her smol doggo tail wagging.

Nathaniel cried out in fear when Cerberus suddenly turned changed forms, his wings puffing up and his face paling. "H-How did you do that?? Why did you do that??"

"Because, I did." She smirked, and smiled. "Whats your name? I'm Cerberus!"

"I'm… m-my name is Nathaniel…" He replied weakly, still clearly afraid of Cerberus. "Are you gonna hurt me?"

Cerberus gasped. "HUH?! N-No! Of course not!" She pat his head. "I only hurt sinners, and you're obviously pure." She hummed.

Nathaniel cowered a bit and rubbed at his eyes, looking away meekly. "B-But… they kicked me out. Doesn't that make me bad? A… A s-sinner?"

Cerberus paused, and shook her head. "They were being mean and judgeful." She hissed, her teeth sharpening for one second, then retracting. "You did nothing wrong, Nate. Is it okay if I call you that?" She asked.
Lucifer walked in, with chocolate-chip pancakes and smiled. "Cerbiii- I got some pancakes for you and Nate!" She said, setting the plates down in between them.

Nathaniel looked down at the covers and gripped them tightly, his eyes pooling with tears. "I-I don't— r-really care what you call me, m… m-miss…" He stammered weakly. He closed his eyes, trying to bite back his tears.

Lucifer paused. "Are you okay darling?" She said, sitting next to him and rubbing his back soothingly.
