Ophelia's heart races as she feels Kaillas' arms encircle her waist, and she cant help but notice the subtle shift of his hands. She blushes a bit but tries to not focus on it too much. She knows he won’t try anything too intense.
"I enjoyed it," She replies honestly. It was a fun day and she really enjoyed walking along the shore and exploring everything. "The beach was incredible, unlike anything I've ever experienced before. The white sand, the clear water, it was like stepping into a dream."
“The gown, on the other hand," She continues with a playful grin, "I could live without.” She has an idea about what gown she’ll have to wear and she certainly isn’t excited about. “I much prefer to wear simpler garments that allow for easier movement. Corsets are the worst. I feel like I can never breathe properly while wearing one.”
She shifts around a little to get comfortable. It’s not as though she sits on laps often so she isn’t used to it. It is nice to be so close to him, though. She enjoys being in his arms.
Kaillas watched her face as she spoke about the beach. His expression softened as he listened. They would live here if it were possible. Away from everything else. Away from court and responsibilities and the people. But it just wasn't possible. Not for them.
He shook his head, a playful smile on his lips. "We'll, you might give the other ladies a fright if you decide not to wear corests around them. I, however, think I quite like it." Less layer to work through to get to her skin. Not now, of course, but for a future date.
He tried to hiding as she shifted on his lap once more but the pained expression slipped on to his face. "My wife, my beautiful wife. If you keep moving like that were going to have an issue that will need to be resolved." He did not want her to deal with his desire. He did, actually, and that was the problem. And he didn't want to kick her out of his room so he could deal with it himself. He only hoped if she stopped moving down what little had risen would lie back down.
How he would have loved to grab her hips and help her move. But that was the kind of though that was making all of this so much worse. He tried to focus on her face and nothing else. Not the slip of cleavage in his view or the pressure of her weight on his lap. Just her pretty face.
Living on the beach would be a dream come true. Unfortunately, that will likely never happen. They have a kingdom to run. They don’t have the luxury that some others do. Their responsibilities mean that they won’t be able to take much time away to just relax and be themselves.
“I would cause a huge scandal if I showed up at court without a corset,” She agrees with a laugh. The other ladies would be brutal if she did something so bold and crazy. She won’t wear a corset in private but she has no choice but to wear one in a public setting.
Her entire face turns a furious shade of red when she hears his words. “Oh,” She gasps out, horrified at the realization. “I’m sorry!” She wasn’t trying to make things difficult for him. The way she was sitting on his lap just wasn’t all that comfortable. She hadn’t even considered the consequences of her actions.
She stops moving at once, worried about so much as moving a muscle right now. A little embarrassed, she looks past his face and at the wall behind him so she can take a second to pull herself together.
Kaillas barked out a laugh, his shoulders shaking at her reaction. She looked absolutely mortified. He shouldn't find it funny. He really shouldn't. Especially not with his growing desire between then but he couldn't help it. He didn't think he would ever tire of her innocence and blushing. He hoped she never stopped, even long after they had been together sexually.
He placed a hand on the back of her head and guided her to lay against his chest. "Hey, it's alright. You can move. You're just squirming a little too much. Relax, it's alright." He kissed the side of her head before resting his face against it.
His fingers massaged the base of her neck as he waited for the embarrassment to subside. His other hand moved up and down her back soothingly. "Now I think that's enough excitement for today," he said with a smile. "Unless you had anything else planned before sleep."
He was still feeling som fatigue from their trip there. And an early night's sleep meant he coukd wake up early at his usual time and go outside to train. It was where he felt most comfortable, training. He enjoyed the weight of a blade in his hands or using his fists to fight.
Ophelia nearly died when Kaillas laughs at her. She only had her first kiss with him not long ago so she’s still greatly inexperienced and unused to hearing about such matters. For goodness sake, she only learned about sex a week ago. She’s warming up to the idea but it’s always been considered taboo so she finds talking about it difficult.
Her embarrassment slowly subsides as he reassures her, his touch and comforting words easing her tension. She nestles against his chest, mostly just using that as a way to hide her red face. The warmth of his body and the rhythm of his breathing provides a sense of comfort that she’s coming to cherish.
"I think I've had quite enough excitement for today," She replies, her voice muffled against his chest. Although she had a lot of fun today, they did a lot and she’s still rather tired from their journey. They’ll have plenty of time to do what they want tomorrow.
She closes her eyes, savoring the feeling of his fingers massaging her neck and his hand soothingly moving along her back.
(I'm gonna be at comic con all weekend so I might not be on much)
Kaillas still had that small, teasing smile on his lips as he moved them back until he was lying down on the bed with her on him. He managed to grab the covers without jostling her to much.
He placed a small kiss on her head. His hand was still massaging the nape of her neck. "Good night, my wife, sleep well." He hoped that he would.
He placed his head back on the pillow, taking a calming breath as he closed his eyes. With his beating heart and still evident desire, he doubted he would sleep soon. He woukd have to wait for his body to calm down before sleep would find him.
(Oh, sounds awesome! Have fun!!!)
Ophelia curls up when Kaillas lays her on the bed. She tucks herself against his side with a content sigh. She’s grown accustomed to sleeping next to him. Granted, this will only be the second time she wakes up to him by her side but she’s growing to enjoy that as well.
“Goodnight, husband,” She murmurs, pressing a light kiss to his cheek before relaxing. This last week has absolutely worn her out. She’s ready to get some more rest since she doesn’t doubt that tomorrow will be another big day for them.
The hours pass by quickly and soon the sun is rising in the sky once again. She isn’t eager to wake up so she stays completely snuggled against Kaillas.
(Wasn’t sure if you wanted to just do the next day or not so I just went with it. Let me know what ya think)
(That's good. I had a plan anyways ;)
What moght have been hours felt only for a few minutes for Kaillas to sleep. He was content, watching Ophelia sleep. She was beautiful and peaceful while she slept. He couldn't help but admire it. He even fought his eyes to watch her just a little bit longer.
But sleep would not be held off for long and it eventually took him. But when it did, it did not cone in peace. Nightmare swarmed him. Old memories and twisted dreams. He couldn't escape it. No matter how far he ran they followed. It wasn't until he woke up covered in sweat that he escaped.
Looking at the window, it was a few hours until dawn. Ophelia was sleeping contently and he didn't want to wake her. As careful as can be, he slowly slipped out from beneath her. He walked out if the bedroom, closing the door with a gentle click. His feet carried him outside after grabbing his sword. He had pent up energy he needed to realse.
Ironically, training had always brought him peace. It calmed his soul and his mind. So training was what he differed to at times like this. When the nightmares were so heavy he couldn't find sleep. He went outside in the cool night and walked through his training.
(Okay, awesome!!!)
(Are you dressing up for the con btw?)
(Not this time. Didn't have any planned. But I will for dragon con in September)
As Kaillas slips out of bed and leaves the room, Ophelia stirs slightly, feeling the absence of his warmth beside her. She slowly opens her eyes, blinking away the remnants of sleep, and noticing that Kaillas is no longer there. It takes her a minute to actually process this. Sitting up, she reaches out to the empty space beside her, her gaze falling upon the closed bedroom door.
Curiosity and concern mingles within her as she climbs out of bed, still half asleep. She doesn’t even think to pull on a robe or anything. Quietly, she pads towards the door, her steps barely making a sound on the floor. With a gentle push, she opens it and peeked outside and into the empty hallway.
With a frown, she continues her search. She checks out all of the rooms in the house, sans for the staff quarters, and finds no sign of him. It’s starting become more concerning now. She has no idea where he could have gone off to at this time of day. Eventually she decides to take a look outside.
She opens the door leading to the beach, her eyes falling upon Kaillas in the distance, practicing his swordsmanship under the moonlit sky. Her barely awake brain isn’t functioning enough for her to understand what’s happening. She hasn’t the faintest idea why he’s out here right now. It’s so late. Or early? She’s really not sure.
Silently, she steps towards himself, wanting to know what he’s doing out here. As she draws closer, she can see the tension in his muscles, the intensity etched upon his face. Gently, she approached, hesitating for a moment before calling out quietly. “Kaillas?”
(Ah, that’s too bad! What do you have planned for dragon con?)
(Rhaenrya targaryen and maybe something from my acotar books)
(That'll be fun! I still need to see House of the Dragon)
Kaillas had stripped of his shirt and discarded it to the side along with the sheath of his sword. Ge had started with the basics, walking himself through every beginner stance. Where to place his feet. Where to swing his sword. It was only after he had walked through every beginner move and was sure there was no flaw that he began to go through more complicated moves.
He didn't get very far. Not until a sweet voice called out to him and pulled him from his concentration. Sweat was beading on his forehead and dripping down his back. It was a rather cool night but with all of his work he had overheated and worked up a sweat.
He first sheathed his sword and placed it on the ground before walking his bare feet to his wife. He gripped her arms gently. "What are you doing up, darling? Go back to sleep."
He hoped he hadn't woken her. That was the last thing that he had intended. He had just needed to get out. He needed to work off his frustration. Training helped provide that escape.
(Ugh it's so good. U gotta see it)
Seeing him like this reminds her of when Catalina practically dragged her into the courtyard of the palace to see him train. That had been unexpected and embarrassing. Now, though she certainly appreciates the view, she's more worried about why he dragged himself out of bed to do this. She had just assumed that he would be taking the week off from doing his training.
Not caring that he's sweaty, she leans against him when he holds onto her arms. Her brain is finally starting to wake up properly but instead of being helpful, it's telling her that she's dumb for being awake right now.
"I woke up and you were gone," She mutters, setting her head on his chest. She isn't going to go back to bed without him. If he needs to finish his routine, that's fine, but she'll be staying out here with him. It doesn't feel like to be in an empty bed right now.
"Why are you even out here? The sun isn't even up." Perhaps she's overthinking it but this seems like a strange time for him to be out of bed, let alone doing training.
(I definitely need to! Gotta finish the show I'm currently watching and then I'll give it a go)
Kaillas opened his mouth to protest her hugging him but decided against it. It felt nice to hold her. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, placing a hand on the back on her head.
"I'm sorry I woke you up," he said, dropping a kiss to the top of her head. "I just had a few things on my mind I needed to work out. Just some bad dreams. But everything is okay."
He pulled far enough back to look down at her. "You need to go back to bed, darling. Everything is alright. I'll come back to bed in a little bit." He wasn't quite ready to go back in yet. He needed to finish his routine. He wanted to make sure he was of solid mind before going back to bed. Only he knew he wouldn't go back to sleep. By the time he finished dawn would be rising and that was his natural wake up time.
Hugging him isn’t her wisest decision. She’ll have to bathe in the money since she decided to hug a very sweaty man. Right now, she doesn’t care. She just wants him to holds her. Luckily for her, that’s exactly what he does.
“I’ll stay with you.” She’ll leave if he really wants her to but her goal is for them to return to bed together. It feels wrong to just leave him out here while she curls up on their comfortable bed and sleeps.
Ultimately, what she does is up to him. If he needs some alone ti then she’ll respect that and return to bed. Though she hopes that he’ll let her stay, she’s not going to impose on him if that’s not what he wants. Their relationship is still new so she’s still working on figuring out how to understand his wants and needs.
(Sorry I was clubbing with hot moms XD)
Kaillas couldn't help but smile down at her. He only folded her back against his chest. He gave the top if her head another kiss before squeezing her one last time and letting go of her.
"I'm not ready to go inside just yet." He led her to where his shirt had been discarded on the ground. He spread it out for her then gestured fir her to sit. "If you want to stay."
Then he backed away from her once she was settled and unscathed his sword once more. He began his sequence over and over again until the sun was peaking over the horizon and he was dripping in sweat. Only then was he satisfied and ready to go back inside. A bath was necessary.
