"That would be appreciated," she replied softly, trailing a finger down his jaw.

John closed his eyes for a moment. "Especially if he makes my wife uneasy.."
Jane remembered his threat to her before she'd fallen ill. And what he'd heard about John… "So how is Peter?" she asked, trying to change the topic.
"Peter's…" John took an inhale, "He's doing fine."
Jane lifted her head. "Is there something wrong?" she asked innocently, having no clue what she'd just said.
"Why would there be?" John replied, "Shh, you talk too much, love."
She blushed slightly. "I'm sorry. It's just relieving that you're finally home."
He leaned to give her a satisfying kiss, resting a hand on her belly.
Jane kissed him back passionately, pouring all of her love for him into the kiss.
When she least expected it, her husband smeared a handful of bubbles across her face.
Jane gasped. "John!" she cried, dissolving into giggles.
He threw his head back in a throaty laugh. "When did you grow a beard?!"
"It was supposed to be a surprise," she laughed, playing along with him.
"Oh honey! Have I really been gone that long?" He teased.
"Yes. You need to come home more often," she said with a smile.
He pulled her around so she laid against him. "Jesus, I miss you," John laughed warmly.
"I miss him too," Jane teased with a giggle.
He rolled his eyes facetiously.
She giggled harder and kissed her husband happily. "I love you."
"I love you too." He replied sweetly, curling his arms around her in a tight hug. After a moment, Chadine knocked, "Your two's tea is done, y'all want me to bring it in?"
Jane looked up at John. "Would you like tea now?"
"Why not?" He replied. "Come in, Chadine,"
She came in with a tray. It wasn't awkward or strange to see them naked; as Jane's caretaker, she'd had to help the woman dress hundreds of times around that swollen belly of hers, and as for John, she could care less. "I know you like your sugah, Jane, I assumed you like it the same way, Mr. André,"
"Yes, thank you," he reached an arm from the tub, taking his cup as Chadine set the tray down on a small table by the tub.
"Thank you, Chadine," Jane said kindly. "Why don't you go rest?"
"You be havin' me rest all the time, Jane. I feel better when I got stuff to do," Chadine assured.
"If it's fine with you, then," she said.
