George let out another muffled yawn and leaned against the hand. “Sorry.. do you want to do anything?”
George let out another muffled yawn and leaned against the hand. “Sorry.. do you want to do anything?”
"Anything," he replied. "If it were warm," ge sighed, "I'd take to outdoor work. Do you have plenty of wood? I can cut more. If need be," he offered.
“We’ve got enough wood,” he said, rising and coming around the side of the couch to Bailey.
"Mm, 'kay. Well. I noticed there was a crack in the plaster by the kitchen doorway," he spoke, trying to find something productive to do, "I can fix it,"
“I’ll help..”
He trailed off, evidently still exhausted.
"Well, you can rest. Sit and rest," he requested, "You look tired, let me take care of it, yeah?" Bailey rolled up his sleeves to his elbows. Oh, the tirbulations of war had left the man still thick in the muscle.
The sight of Bailey’s muscle brought pink to George’s cheeks, thoroughly waking him up. His sinful dreams came rushing back to him, and he took a step backwards. “I should— I should help. I’m not that tired.” The bgs under his eyes suggested otherwise.
"Sit," Bailey repeated himself– he had a way of being forceful, without being aggressive. Kind of fatherly, in a sense; commanding and respectful.
George sighed and followed the instruction, staring down at the floor.
"Your work is best when you're well rested," he sighed, then a flicker of shame crossed his face. Just a thought– remembering his days as a ruthless commander. Showing such an unforgiving rage. "Sorry,"
( FUN FACT bob ross was a drill sargeant and he quit cos he hated yelling at people and became a painter to spread positivity instesd )
(Oh woah)
“I should be the one apologizing… why are you?” He had been this way for weeks, weary, depressed, happy only in those moments before he was fully awake to process the situation.
"I need to be kinder to you," Bailey sighed, and pulled a nearby blanket for George.
“You’re being kind,” he insisted quietly.
"Do you want coffee or tea?" Bailey asked in reply. It was kind of funny– knowing Bailey's harsh past, how he interpreted affection as forceful kindness.
"Tea, but you don't have to get it for me." The sleep-induced euphoria had worn off by now, leaving him unable to look Bailey in the eye.
"If you insist." John chuckled softly, and wrapped her in a hug.
She smiled and snuggled against his chest.
"You need to eat," he laughed, "Stop getting distracted," he teased.
"You're a worthy distraction, my dear husband," she purred softly.

Bailey sighed through his nose. "I think you're being too hard on yourself," he spoke, pushed George's hair back behind his ear again. "Too harsh."

"Not when it comes to food!" He laughed.

Jane smiled. "Would you like to eat?" she giggled.
"Eventually. Im not hungry yet," he replied.
"Am I distracting?" she asked innocently.

George froze almost immediately, his head snapping up. Two conflicting emotions flickered in his eyes; fear and delight.
Confusion crossed Bailey's face. "..Are you ok?"
"Am I distracting?" she asked innocently.
"Very." He teased.
