(thanks, and sorry)
Pierre rushed to the door, forcing his burning legs to move. He returned minutes later with the doctor behind him, out of breath and even more afraid.
Its ok! Lmao )
Edonine had gotten Cruz cleaned up the best she could, constantly keeping check of his pulse.
Jane blushed and leaned against John. "How much have you told him about me?"
"Mm, too much. But I trust him," John reassured his wife.
"John, this is Elizabeth," Peter introduced her.
"Hello, how are you?" she asked in a thin Irish accent.

As the doctor worked away, Pierre felt utterly useless. All he could do was murmur prayer after prayer and hope that his hands weren’t shaking too much. April— He’ll never be able to see her again.

"Very well," John replied cordially, dipping his head to Elizabeh.

The doctor shooed Edonine off the Spaniard, feverish and abrupt in his movements. She stepped away as she was told, feeling particularly distressed.

Jane smiled cordially at her. "As my husband said, we are both very well, thank you." While the woman exchanged a few pleasantries, Peter nudged John.
"How does it feel to be a married man?"
"It feels," John looked to the side, "I feel stunned," he laughed quietly.
"How so?" Peter asked, arching an eyebrow.
"Well, it's a big step," John replied, scratching the back of his head. "And it happened so fast, feels like.."
Peter glanced over a few feet where Jane and Elizabeth were making polite conversation. "She's beautiful. You got yourself a good one, John."
"I know," John gushed, peering over admiringly at his wife. "She is.. Stunning,"

A tear slipped down his cheek, which he wiped away almost angrily. He barely registered Edonine or Geoffrey— at that moment, his eyes were fixed firmly on Cruz.
The doctor muttered rapidly under his breath. How was he supposed to fix this? This wasnt some easy flesh would he could sew up.
“I have to- I have to send a letter to April—“ He wasn’t sure why he was telling Edonine this, but he did it anyways. “So she can come and—“
Edonine took his arm. "Breathe, Pierre.."
"I know," John gushed, peering over admiringly at his wife. "She is.. Stunning,"
Jane glanced over at the men and saw them looking in her direction. "I think they want us to come over again," she remarked to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth nodded. "Your dress looks amazing, I forgot to mention."
"Thank you," Jane replied shyly, and the women made their way back over the short distance.
Peter pulled Elizabeth to his side and smiled charmingly at her. She blushed and looked over at Jane.
Pierre took in a gulp of air, his fingers finding hers.

Her face was hardened, but still sympathetic. "Cruz.. Cruz will be okay. Remember what you told me? We will be okay,"

"Ah, I couldn't ask for a lovelier woman," Peter replied, his eyes shining as he looked at Elizabeth. She looked back at him with the same level of love.
He could only nod numbly, rooted to the spot.

"Well," John smiled widely, "I'm glad you found someone who can make you happy, Peter," he congratulated.
He could only nod numbly, rooted to the spot.
"Go letter April, now.." She let him go.
