(Hmmmm Maybe a couple months? Perhaps they've bonded a bit more?)

@WriteOutofTime

It took her a few weeks to get used to his presence at all. A few weeks more than that to trust him enough to leave him in the apartment alone for large chunks of time. A few more weeks until she began to forget that he was ever a villain. And a week more before she almost considered him a friend.

Physically, his condition seemed to be improving. He was almost as good as new on that front. However, she wasn't sure about his memory. To her, it seemed he still wasn't remembering much…but she couldn't know for sure. As she returned from a hero mission, she spotted him in the kitchen. She raised a hand in greeting, taking off her mask. "Hey."

James was quite alright. His aches and pains in his hips where he landed on them and his head stopped, and he was able to walk around without his heavy limp. He quite enjoyed the freedom he was given now that he was the hero's friend, able to mess around with the 'television' and not get tailed to the bathroom or kitchen.

When she returned, he was messing with a pot of cooking spaghetti, poking at the bottle of sauce he'd be using for it. He glanced at her with a cheeky grin he always gave her.
"Hey! I'm making spaghetti."

@WriteOutofTime

(omg that was fast! yayyy)

"Spaghetti," she repeated with one of her breathy laughs. She peered over his shoulder, looking down at the boiling pot of sauce on the stove. She never used to use the stove. "Smells great. I'll never get used to not relying on coffee and adrenaline to get me through the day."

(Oh yes fingers. Also the sauce is not boiling noodles cook in water)

"It's just noodles," James commented lightly with his lips puckered slightly as he looked down at her. "And you get to be used to getting dinner. I kind of wish you'd let me cook more. I've been watching a lot of recipe stuff and I think I could do it," He urged lightly to her. "I think just cooking spaghetti, no matter how good this sauce is, gets kind of old."

@WriteOutofTime

(ohhh when i make spaghetti i simmer the sauce in one pan and the noodles in a different one and then mix them later lol)

Nyir shrugged lightly. "Maybe." The idea of him cooking more than one meal reminded her, yet again, that he didn't actually live here. "Just write a list of stuff you need for a dish and I may get it for you. If you're good."

Deleted user

(Wait you don't cook your noodles in water??)

"Maybe? Well, I wanted to try and make mushroom chicken. It's sooo good! It's like, molding chicken and some other stuff together. It's apparently vegetarian, but it looks really good and healthy for you," The former villain gushed happily to her beaming like a child who just discovered the wonderful world of candy.

@WriteOutofTime

(i do!! i just meant that i use one pot to boil the noodles in water, and then the other pot for the spaghetti sauce lol)

Nyir glanced at him, then quickly glanced away. How dare this villain be so…pure? It took everything in her to not immediately say yes to anything and everything he asked. "That does sound good," she admitted flatly. "I'll think about it." She sighed. "How long until the spaghetti is ready?"

Deleted user

(Oh okay lmao. ALSO mushroom chicken is delicious and amazing and incredible and I 100% suggest you get some, cook it in oil and lightly salt it it is amazzinginggnginggingihu.lsqekr)

"Okay. I'll make a list for you in case you make up your mind. You'll love it, I promise." He turned to his noodles to stir them lightly, then dumped the sauce into a separate pot to simmer and warm up.
"Well, the noodles are almost al dente, but I'm not sure you like them like that or not sooo…"

@WriteOutofTime

(bro that sounds amazing i love mushrooms)
"Stop using strange words I don't understand," she demanded with a teasing smirk, waving a finger at him. "If it's not crunchy or raw, I'm good with it."

Deleted user

(it is. We had some this year in my heath class and it was legit better than actual chicken cooked the same way.)

"It's not too soft. But it's nice and chewy and it's how a lot of Italians like their noodles. I learn a lot from TV. Maybe you should watch it with me sometime," He remarked with a cheeky grin at her finger wave. "It's not my fault I'm smart."

@WriteOutofTime

"I don't watch cooking shows," she responded, pointedly ignoring his quip about his intelligence, "I'm not a grandma. Or Italian."

Deleted user

"I'm not a grandma and I don't really know what Italian means but I still enjoy my noodles al dente," He hummed back with a bright grin.

@WriteOutofTime

"Sometimes I forget you're still a bit stupid," she said, smiling some to show she was joking. "Anyway, I'm going to go change out of my hero stuff. Dinner better be ready when I get back."

Deleted user

(*you're)

"Mmm. Well it won't be, unless you want cold sauce," James huffed at her, mixing the sauce slowly and humming softly.
