Met heard someone laughing in the distance, but didn't think it was his new friend as she poked him awake. He sat up slowly to blink at her, rubbing the side of his aching head.
"Oh, hi. It's lunch and I just finished my tests… So I guess I fell asleep," He explained with a soft laugh, though he himself smiled at her happy mood. He liked seeing someone so happy to see him.
"Oh? So do you wanna come to get lunch?"
She says sitting backward in the chair in front him. Tapping her fingers on the desk to a happy little song that seemed to be stuck in her head.
Met sat up slowly and rubbed his tired face, moving the binders he used off to the side. "Yeah, sure. I probably won't get anything, I'm not really hungry." He smiled at her as she hummed and tapped her fingers. "I'm sorry you came looking for me. I didn't know you wanted to hang out."
"Oh! I mean I was particularly looking for you, but I'm happy I found you!"
She says standing up once again,
"I mean, you can stay here, I wasnt really getting anything to eat either, I was gonna hang outside"
She says running her fingers through her unreasonably long hair.
Met smiled and stood up with her, but realized how short she was in comparison to him. A full foot and two or three inches was a lot.
"No, I'd like to come out with you and relax outside. I think it'd be nice to get to know you again," He said pleasantly once he got over the shock of their height difference.
Looking up at him, she never realized the height difference, which always made her a little scared when a male was so much taller than her.
"Oh okay!"
She said happily, pleasantly surprised that someone wanted to get to know her.
Walking down the hall, the opposite way of the cafeteria, they exited the building. Behind the school was a whole forest, the school never bothered to get rid of it. Which was kind if dangerous, but she wasn't complaining.
Met smiled and trotted out of the class with her, careful to keep his strides short and slow to keep up with her small feet. He smiled down at her as they walked, holding the door open for her as they walked outside. He was a senior, so he was allowed outside, but he had never taken advantage of it like this. He stuck his hands into his sweatpants as his feet crunched the grass.
"It's a nice day out. It's kind of wet, though," He commented, as he watched droplets of rain slide down his long locks of hair.
"Oh i love it!! I hope it rains today!"
She says twirling around to me his gaze, only having to look up at him an unreasonable amount
"It is raining," He responded with a little giggle, watching her twirl and play in the grass and rain. His blue eyes sparkled in the subdued place of his eyesockets. "Are we just walking around? It's a bit too wet to sit."
"Trees!"
She says laughing a little and running to a certain tree.
"See, there are so many trees, they might as well be connected. Then leaves are sheltered from the rain!"
She says climbing a tree, making sure her skirts not flying everywhere
Met walked after her, standing on the other side of it and watching her start to climb the tree. "So we're gonna be climbing it?" He asked as he looked up at the connected, dry branches. They might as well, but he couldn't climb too well. He was too lanky and even though he was light and skinny, he couldn't lift himself.
"Yeah! Or at least sit on one of the lower branches if you're scared of heights?"
She says sitting down on a five-foot-high branch, she was only a tad bit taller than him. Smiling at him, she looked up at the higher branches.
"I usually go up to the very top, but that's a little high for someone who usually doesn't club trees.
"Hmm I think this is fine," He said as he gazed down at her still, grinning. "I would climb the tree but I'm not quite strong enough." He'd try anyway, though. He glanced around for a couple of footholds and hoisted himself up by the branches, settling himself in the part where all the branches came out. It was a nice, protected place on the tree.
Looking up at him now, he got up there rather easily, she didn't really believe he wasn't strong enough.
"You like it?"
She asks swinging her legs like a cute little kid, humming a little song.
Met snuggled up onto the tree like an owl, peering down at her even more owlishly with his big eyes and his dark hair framing his face. "I guess? It's much drier up here. Say, I never got your name," He suddenly realized, smiling. She had given him her number but not her name. He did the same, too, but still.
"Oh! Seo-Hyeon Youn, but you can call me CC. And sorry my English isn't very good"
She says to him, although her English was outstanding. She didn't even have an accent. She's been learning English all of her life, she moved to America about 5 years ago.
"Your English is spectacular. I didn't even notice you weren't from here." He smiled and leaned on a branch. "I'm Met. A lot of people know me because my twin, so that's a thing. It's a pleasure to meet and get to know you, CC."
"Well, most people can because of just how I looked"
She says, her happy tone lowering, she pointed to her face, which was obvious she was Korean, or at least Asian.
"The pleasures all mine, Met"
She says smiling, reaching her hand out to shake his.
Met stretched to accept her handshake, his hand completely obscuring hers as he shook it. "People think my twin and I came from Britian or something because of how pale we are. Not as intense as your situation but I do understand," He hummed, smiling. He quite liked the way she looked, but he wasn't going to say that in case he sounded creepy.
"Really? Yeah you are pale, i am to though so it's fine."
She says losing her balance but quickly regaining it.
"So you have a twin?"
Met reached to try and help her regain her balance with a small jump, but realized she was fine and smiled. "Yeah. I have a twin. He's Neo, I'd honestly be surprised if you didn't know him. We're identical twins."
"Identical?"
She says kind of amazed.
"I've never met an identical twin before! Me and my brother look a lot alike, but he's a little grumpy pants!"
She crosses her arms, making a mean mimicking face puffing out her cheeks dramatically.
"Yeah, surely you've seen us together at some point. Well, maybe not. He doesn't really hang out with me." He stretched his legs and hung them off of the tree, listening to her talk and laughing at her expression. "Yeah, we're rare and stuff. Apparently we're the only pair of twins in the neighborhood, which kind of sucks."
"That's fun though! Do you like being a twin?"
She asks him, genuinely curious.
Met sighed and glanced away. "Not really. I guess he just shows me what I can be. He's super smart and talented, it's hard to like him."
