Kain just sighed a little theatrically before patting Mikhail's shoulder. "You know what? How about I buy you a drink for your troubles, huh?" he offered, smiling a little now
"No–it's fine—I don't drink," Mikhail stumbled out, hoping his face has returned to it's original color as he finally looked at Kain.
(srry for slow responses, gonna be busy for the rest of the week)
Kain's twinkling eyes were the first thing Mikhail would have been drawn to, second to his smile. "Don't worry, they have soda and stuff here for people who don't drink. Lemonade too, I think. How about that?" he suggested
(It's fine, take your time)
Mikhail shrugged lightly. "Um–sure…" He tried his best not to stare at the other, not wanting to seem weird, even though he thought he probably already creeped out Kain.
"Alright, then. What kind?" Kain asked, still smiling as he rested his chin in the palm of his hand. He thought it was endearing, really, how flustered Mikhail seemed to be around him
"I'll just have soda," Mikhail answered, settling down in a seat beside Kain. How was he still so flustered?
"M'kay," Kain said, shrugging as he ordered their drinks. He looked Mikhail over for a moment, enjoying the fact that the other was still blushing
Mikhail looked around, not sure what to do or say. "So, um…when did you start singing?" He nervously ran a hand through his hair, fiddling with his fingers afterwards.
"When I was a little kid. My mom is a siren, so we used to sing a lot together," Kain said with a little smile, looking down at the counter a little
"Oh, that's cool…." Mikhail mumbled, suddenly have lost the ability to hold a conversation without stuttering or becoming flustered.
"What about you?" Kain asked, carrying the conversation easily. He was used to flustered fans, and the slightly quiet responses from Mikhail were actually sort of refreshing
"I'm not that good at singing, I probably would sound horrible," Mikhail answered, when was the last time he sang? Probably never, the most he had done was humming.
"Ah, that's what everyone says. Then you have someone else listen to you and you find out you aren't half bad," Kain said with a small shrug. "Hell, back when I was little, I was the worst-sounding kid there. All the sirens said I sounded like a drowned sailor," he giggled
Mikhail couldn't help but laugh softly, a small smile appearing on his face. "Well, I've never sang, and never learned how to properly sing either. The closest thing I've done to singing is humming, I think."
"Aw, how cute," Kain teased. "Humming isn't so bad, you know. You can turn it into singing all on its own most of the time. You just have to find a good tune."
Mikhail was, to say the least, flustered, but also a bit uncomfortable, considering most of the people that called him 'cute' wanted something from him. Which was usually sex. "Well, I don't listen to that many songs either…"
"We can fix that!" Kain exclaimed excitedly, grinning like a cat that caught the canary. "Why don't you come with me to my place after this? We can listen to music together," he offered
"Sure, that sounds good—only if you're okay with it," Mikhail replied, hoping the other wasn't looking for a hook-up or a one-night stand. If anything did happen, that he didn't like, he could just say he had to go do something and leave.
(hey so I think I might need to drop out of this. I know we're only a few pages in but life is currently hitting me with a hammer lmao)
(Oof it's fine, take your time, I understand. When it was finals week, I barely had any time to get on and I was stressed as hell)
(yeah, sorry man)
(It's fine, take your of yourself first)
