(I understand the struggle XD)
(Also, we are you from??? In Michigan I don’t believe we have buses like this, especially not to go to school lol)
Danny leads the way, marching to the front of the bus and humming the tune of, “We’re off to see the wizard! The wonderful wizard of Oz!”
(Oh lol I’m in the London UK)
Ariel skips along by his side, swinging her bag with every cheerful step. They walked up the cobbled way, merging into the crowd of oncoming students.
“Good thing we have our first class together! That way you can wake me up when the bell rings,” Danny jokes.
He weaves through the crowd like a graceful ballerina, except that he trips over his own two feet a lot during the day.
Ariel silently watches him go, mind flooded with a noisy barrier of teenage thoughts. She’s fighting hard not to flinch at how many of the people around her are crying or screaming or swearing in their own thoughts.
Turns around to grab Ariel’s hand and drag her to his locker.
“We get to go to my locker first today!” He exclaims.
Their lockers aren’t that far apart, but they have quite a bit of time before class anyways.
(Hey! So I’m currently in Ohio with my Mimi and Papa for my cousins bday, so sorry if my posts are wonky!)
She jumps, startled out of her own head. "Okay sure." She follows Danny meekly, head down.
(don't worry thanks for the heads up!)
(IM SO SORRY I TOOK SO LONGGGGG)
Danny comes to an abrupt stop right in front of his locker and puts in the combination, mumbling 21, 45, 43 as each number comes around.
"This weekend was so boring," Danny says. He grabs his books and slams the locker shut, only realizing he forgot something once it closed. He sighs and starts putting in the combo again.
(Oooooof ditto ^^’)
Ariel snickered at his forgetfulness before registering the question. “It was okay for me, actually. Sis took me to the movies and I was busy with homework stuff the rest of the time anyway. Plus I had dance, so.”
Danny gasps and closes his locker for the second time, this time remembering to grab all of his stuff.
“Show me your graceful ballerina twirls!” Danny begs jokingly.
“Dance all the way to your locker!”
He does a couple of steps and then a very bad ballerina leap, almost kicking the books out of someone else’s hand while barely hanging on to his own.
Ariel bit her lip, already blushing, but she ran forward and performed a flawless arabesque-pirouette combo.
She could hear the thoughts of the students around her, ranging from judgement to awe to jealousy. She tripped upon landing.
Danny gasps and looks at her in awe.
“You didn’t have to outdo me, man.” He pouts.
I didn’t realize she was so good. He thinks.
Ariel bit back a smile, Danny’s thoughts the only one she was ever able to hear alone. “Thank you very much,” she grinned, soundlessly skidding past him and towards her own locker.
She swiftly twisted open the lock, pulling out a couple notebooks and a single book before gently shutting it and turning around to press her back against it. She was looking out into the flood of thinking students
Danny looks a bit taken aback. He shakes it off with a smile and keeps walking with her.
As Ariel is busy with her books he thinks, Huh, that response literally lined up perfectly with my thoughts. Funny coincidence I guess.
Ariel faces out and Danny checks the old wristwatch he always has.
“We still have a couple minutes before the first bell rings. What do you want to do?”
Ariel wrinkled her nose, thinking. « I’d say a couple of minutes isn’t very long and we should head to class now. What do you say? »
(Oh those are the " signs on the French keyboard which I've got at my school)
(Oh ok. I was just very confused. Also I'm just going to say their first class is English if that's ok with you)
"I'm cool with heading to class now," he agrees.
He lets Ariel catch up to his side and they walk down to English.
Wait… Danny thinks as they walk up to the door. Did we have English homework?
(tis cool with me)
Ariel caught Danny's thought and tried to think up a way to assure him there wasn't wihtout being obvious. "I'm so glad we didn't have English homework for today," she sighed, keeping stride with Danny's quick step. "I had to finish my Maths project."
Phew, no Engl- WAIT!
“What math project?“ Danny asks, not managing to hide his frantic tone at all.
Danny was not good with keeping up on his studies. Homework? Forgot. Project? Oops.
Ariel bit back her smile. Never gets old. "You know, the project on Greek mathematicians. I got Pythagoras, so it was pretty simple. Who did you have?"
“Uhh… oh! I know! It started with an A… the middle had a k sound… and it ended with medes.” He pauses and raises up a finger to Ariel to let her know he was thinking. Then in a pure Danny moment he proudly shouts, “ARCHIMEDES!” out to the hallway, getting a few looks. He doesn’t seem to notice though.
Ariel faked a confused frown. "Are you sure that's right? I thought Rachel got Archimedes…" she told Danny.
“Nope. It was Archimedes. I remember doing a little bit of research on him now,” Danny says.
“I think Rachel got some other dude starting with the letter P.”
Wait… did I do research on the wrong guy? Hmm…
