“Who exactly is Cinthia?” Miguel asked, quietly.
“Who exactly is Cinthia?” Miguel asked, quietly.
"The adoptive daughter of Empress Ascha, the war hero and now exile princess of the Nezek Empire… And my best friend."
"Oh…" Miguel muttered awkwardly, he didn't know what to do and was still a little creeped out from being watched.
Demitri leaned against a tree and looked off into the forest. "I should take my leave now. But don't expect me to forget about you."
Miguel nodded, sitting back down on his rock, "Okay. Don't expect me to still be here, by dawn I'll be on the move again."
"I'll find you," Demitri said mysteriously, then disappeared in a cloud of shadows.
Miguel cocked his head, confused as Demitri mysteriously disappeared.
Callah was instructed to keep an eye on Miguel, so she climbed up a tree and stretched out her six legs, yawning, then laying down on a branch with most of her feet and tail dangling off. She rested her head on her paws, idly watching Miguel but not really as intently as she should.
Unlike Drax, Callah was much more intelligent and intuned with emotions, and could communicate with humans with relative ease. She was like a cat-like demon with a humanoid personality.
Miguel took the bag off of his back and took out a sleeping bag and small pillow. He then set the items up on the grass and settled into it. He fell asleep quickly, emitting light snores.
Callah didn't need sleep, but she did rest her eyes. She didn't need to see to know where he was–she was connected to all the shadows around them, and they whispered in her alert ears.
The next morning, right as the sun began to rise, Miguel got up slowly. He was still a bit tired but he stretched and shook it off. He put away his sleeping stuff and slung bsg over his back. Miguel began to walk through the large forest.
Callah cracked open an eye when Miguel started leaving, so she stood up and stretched out her stiff limbs, then jumped down and trailed after him. She didn't bother hiding since Demitri had made his intentions quite clear, so she licked her paw and cleaned off her face as she walked.
Miguel walked at a steady pace, his tail flicking behind him as he looked around the seemingly never ending forest.
Callah was bored, and the boy didn't seem to notice her presence. She trotted up to him and licked her chops. "Any particular place you're going?" Her voice was mature and laced with a slight purr.
Miguel looked surprised to see the creature. He figured it was with Demitri. "Not really, right now my goal is to get out of this forest." He responded.
Callah yawned again. "That sounds like a reasonable goal."
“Yes I suppose. What’s your name?” Miguel asked, continuing his quick pace.
Callah had no problem with keeping up. "Callah."
"Nice to meet you, I think. I'm Miguel." Miguel responded.
Callah flicked her ears about as they walked, listening to the shadows and forest. "Nice to formally meet you, Miguel."
Miguel smiled lightly and kept at the same pace looking for ways to exit the forest.
"You have a good intuition. Keep going forward some ways and you'll find a break in the forest."
“Alright. Do you know where we’re at? I’ve no idea…” Miguel said, looking to Callah.
Callah shook her head. "No, I do not. Apologies."
“No, no. It’s fine.” Miguel sighed seeing a break in the forest up ahead.
