“Should we do that now? Set a date and time?” Daisy asked, raising her eyebrows.
“Should we do that now? Set a date and time?” Daisy asked, raising her eyebrows.
“We should,” Arvil nodded, slipping his phone out of his pocket. “Hm… what do you think? My schedule is a little packed, but just tell me which date you’ll be available and I’ll make lots of room for you.”
“No, no. Tell me when you’re available. I’ll make sure that I am,” Daisy said, pulling up her calendar app to check dates.
“Daisy,” Arvil offered her an amused smile. “Give me a date, love.”
Daisy crinkled her nose and scrolled through her calendar. “Fine… Next Monday?”
“Next Monday sounds fine for me,” Arvil shrugged. “Ten in the morning?”
“That works. Meet up there?” Daisy asked, looking back up at him from her phone.
“I’ll pick you up,” Arvil said, hands stuffed in his pockets. “So don’t worry.”
Daisy raised her eyebrows at him. “Are you sure? I wouldn’t mind meeting you there.”
“I’m sure,” Arvil insisted. “It’ll be fine.”
“Okay. My apartment at ten, then. Let’s hope I don’t get called into the office,” Daisy mused with a hum.
“I’ll bribe them if they do,” Arvil joked. “How dare your office try to keep you away from me?”
“I’m an editor, Arvil. I have important work to do sometimes,” Daisy chuckled, shaking her head in amusement.
“But you’re my fiancée,” Arvil argued, continuing with his drama. “How could you not give me just as much of an importance?”
“Am I getting paid to marry you? No? I didn’t think so,” Daisy said with a small laugh.
“So if I paid you… would you give me more importance?” Arvil pouted, tugging on her arm. “Would you?”
Daisy laughed again and shook her head. “No, Arvil, I wouldn’t. Geez, you’re like a puppy. Always demanding my attention.” And really cute…
Arvil huffed, straightening and turning his head away. “If I were a real puppy, you’d be all over me,” he muttered under his breath. “Wicked woman.”
“Oh you’re so right,” Daisy agreed with a teasing grin. “Puppies are so much cuter.”
Arvil merely rolled his eyes. “Go marry a puppy, then,” he muttered. “Live a happy life with one.”
Daisy chuckled softly. “Arvil, that would be strange. Plus, it’s not legal to marry an animal. And, again, that would be really weird.”
“As if you’re not plenty strange,” Arvil rolled his eyes. “But if it was legal… you’d totally do it. Wouldn’t you?”
“Marry a puppy? No. But I suppose I am, huh? Marrying a puppy,” Daisy teased, playfully shoving him.
“Ha, ha, very funny, Daisy,” Arvil chuckled, shoving her back. “If I’m a puppy, what are you?”
Daisy bared her teeth at him. “A ferocious tiger,” she declared, growling with a slight laugh.
