Daisy rolled her eyes with a scoff. “Right, yeah. Sure. We both know that this is just for our own benefits, nothing more. We’re not friends. We don’t really like each other.”
Even if you are kind of attractive…
Daisy rolled her eyes with a scoff. “Right, yeah. Sure. We both know that this is just for our own benefits, nothing more. We’re not friends. We don’t really like each other.”
Even if you are kind of attractive…
Arvil broke off into a grin. “Ah, you’re learning,” he flicked her over the head. “I’m proud, Daisy. You’re doing so well.”
Though he hadn’t really been lying. He had been looking forward to seeing her again.
Daisy glared at him when he flicked her forehead, scooting over a bit. “Anyway, the food has what it is written on the top of he container, and there should be a couple of plates and forks in the bottom of this bag,” she muttered as she reached back inside the bag and grabbed them.
“Gotcha,” Arvil smirked when she scooted over. Was he making her uncomfortable? How cute! “Thank you, Daisy, for thinking of me. And bringing me food. You’re going to spoil me if you continue doing so.”
“Yeah, yeah. Have to keep up the act, right?” Daisy hummed, handing him a plate. She grabbed a container of food and began to pile some into her plate.
Arvil followed her actions, piling food in his plate. “Ah, it’ll get tough breaking out of it when we part ways,” he hummed. “Unfortunate.”
Daisy hummed, neither agreeing nor disagreeing. “It might. Or it might be easy.”
Arvil took a bite out of his food.
"Has Gabriel-whatever bothered you again?" he questioned, quirking an eyebrow.
“Gavril,” Daisy corrected him, leaning back into her spot. She sighed as she looked down at her plate, shaking her head. “No, thank goodness. But I’m not sure he really believed us… He seemed suspicious of it.”
Of course, he knew his name, but Arvil didn't want to bother pronouncing it. He disliked the man. Clearly, he had no respect to offer, so why would Arvil do the same?
"As long as he isn't a problem," he responded. "Do let me know if he approaches you again."
“Why, so you can threaten him with your army of computer nerds?” Daisy joked with a chuckle.
“Very funny, Daisy,” Arvil grinned back, though he tried to put on an offended face. “My computer nerds are incredibly strong. You’d better not underestimate them.”
Daisy hummed before popping a piece of chicken into her mouth. “Sure they are. They lift computers instead of weights?”
"They carry expectations on their shoulders," Arvil corrected. "Which, itself, is stronger than any weight combined. I could ruin the idiot with a snap of my fingers. All you need to do is ask, and you'll have it."
Daisy hummed, rolling her eyes as she finished a bite of food. “Good to know. Does that mean I basically have an army of computer nerds at my beck and call, then? Or just one nerd?”
Arvil swallowed the food he had in his mouth, amusement flickering in his eyes. "Well, you're not Mrs. Davis, so you just have one unbelievably attractive nerd at your beck and call. Or maybe two. Who knows."
Daisy scoffed, rolling her eyes again. “Modest, are we? Anyway… What do you think of the food?”
“It’s good~” Arvil responded rather cheerfully. “Why wouldn’t it be, though? After all, my beloved got it for me.”
“You don’t have to say that when we’re alone, Arvil, so why bother? I’m not your beloved, just your fake fiancé,” Daisy sighed, taking another bite of food.
“Well,” Arvil paused, trying to think of a better way to say what he was thinking. “You never know who’s listening. I’m simply being careful, love.”
Daisy sighed and rolled her eyes up to the ceiling. “Right… Of course,” she reluctantly agreed in a murmur. “So you’re going to show me around after this?”
“I am,” Arvil nodded. “It’s going to be a lot of talking and meeting new people. Some are going to be obnoxious, just so you know.”
“Good to know. And we’ll keep up the act, so I suppose you can either hold my hand to put your arm around me,” Daisy mused, taking another bite of food.
“Holding your hand seems far less intimate then an arm around your shoulders,” Arvil took a sip of his water. “You tend to scoot away from me, you know.”
Daisy blinked, looking down at her plate as her cheeks gained a slight pink hue from embarrassment. So he had noticed that, hm? Wonderful.
“I don’t like being very close to people I don’t know very well,” she said quietly. “So excuse me if I don’t want to be pressed against you a few days after we’ve met.”
