She sighed and let herself rest for a second before jumping to her feet and grabbing her coat. She shrugged it on, and was out the door.
The street was empty when she walked out into it, save for a couple bars still shining their light out into the street. She walked to the nearest one, hood up, racking her brains for whatever trace Kass had left when teleporting away.
"God, the decor is so drab," Crow complained, finishing the beer. She called for three more.
"Ma'am," The bartender said as he brought the drinks over. "We can't deny you drinks but are you sure you should have this many? If you're driving you will get fined."
"Oh, I don't drive. Don't worry your pretty little head about me."
(sorry for the wait!)
Charlotte lingered outside the door for a moment, keeping her eyes down. She listened in to the voices, scouring the words and intimations for any hints at all.
The bartender slowly moved away. Kassandra was the person to talk to about this kind of stuff, not Crow. Unfortunately for most people, Crow was the one they got.
