Dierra cranked her volume up and started her job, ignoring the people around her as she carried packages and dropped them off. at the correct addresses. She usually saw a huge variety of people when she did her job, anyone from a stay at home dad to crazy cat ladies that ordered more cat food, alcoholics, and people who just didn't care anymore.
School was soon over and Rico slid his laptop into his bag, popping his earbuds in and dashing off of campus. He had a delivery coming today. It was the new bowls for Shira and Bolt, and he wanted to make sure he was there before it arrived, the dogs had a habit of scaring the delivery people when they knocked.
Dierra checked her list one final time as she grabbed the last package, surprised by how light it felt. She turned her music down as she walked up to final house, a satisfied look on her face. The house was nice, she decided as she knocked on the door, bouncing on her toes as she looked around.
Rico saw a familiar figure by his door and ran up as the dogs began to go mad, "Hey! Sorry, I tried to make it home before-" he stopped, "Woah, hey" he scratched the back of his head, "Hey" was all he managed to say
"Uh…hi," She said back, holding out his package "Are you Rico Gonzales by any chance?" She smiled and chuckled "I bet that this is yours, I just have to ask to make sure..part of my job.."
Merry Chrysler!//
Rico nodded, "Yeah, that's me" he pushed open the door to set the box inside, and both of his dogs forced their way out and began sniffing at her, not vicious at all, just curious and playful.
"Oh! Shira, Bolt, come on. Sorry, so sorry" Rico flushed deeply, putting the box inside and attempting to grab at the German shepherd's collars
Merry Crisis! XD//
Dierra laughed happily, crouching down and petting the dogs "It's fine," She said with a laugh, letting them sniff her.
Rico chuckled nervously, "The, uh, the brown one is Shira, and the White one is Bolt" he said, "I uh, never got your name?" He said
"Dierra? Remember?" She said, too busy petting the dogs to look up at him. She buried her hands in their fur and watched their tails wag happily.
Rico flushed, "Sorry, yeah, right" he was super awkward as the dogs began to lick at her face, loving the attention.
Dierra smiled and looked up at Rico "Are they both German Shepherds?" She looked at their fur and nodded "They look like it, with their colorings and everything."
Rico nodded, "Yeah, theyre brother and sister actually" he said "I got them from the shelter. They had brought in a whole litter just that day, mother and all. I was lucky enough to get them" he smiled, "Are you, uh, a fan of German shepherds?" He asked
"Duh," She chuckled, "They are my favorite dog breed ever. I haven't been able to get one of my own though..I travel way too much to get one, plus I don't earn much money." She looked at the dogs and smiled "You guys are so lucky.."
Rico smiled, "Yeah, they're real good dogs" he said, "Uh, so," oh gods was he really doing this, "Uh, when d-do you get off today? M-maybe we could, uh, hang out or something?" He inwardly cringed, bracing himself for the worst
Dierra stood up and checked her watch "Right…..now." she smiled and continued petting the dogs "That was my last package to deliver, I just have to go get my money quick and then I'm free."
Rico smiled, "Okay" he said, "I was just about to take these two for a walk to the dog park. Would you like to help me?" He smiled
She nodded quickly and smiled "Sure, just give me five minutes and I'll be right back," She saluted jokingly to him and jogged off, heading to get her money.
Rico grinned, "Alright you two, inside. Come on," the dogs ran inside and Rico followed, setting the box up on the couch, "Leashes, go on. Go!" They ran off towards a small room in the back, each grabbing a leash off of a shelf and carrying them towards him, "Good dogs!" He praised, hooking a leash on each of their collars and walking outside, each dog walking directly next to Rico on either side, as hed trained them since they were smol
Dierra jogged to her work and talked to her boss quickly, taking the small amount of cash that he handed her. She pocketed the money and started jogging back to Rico's house, slowing down only when she was a few feet in front of him.
Rico smiled, "You want to walk one?" He asked, offering up the leashes for her to choose
"Sure," Dierra grinned, taking Shira's leash happily. She reached down to pet her one more time before Shira pulled her forward, making her laugh.
"Shira!" Rico scolded with a laugh, "Heel, girl. Come on. Don't embarrass me" Bolt barked happily, trotting by his side as they walked down the sidewalk
Shira immediately slowed down and trotted between Rico and Dierra. Dierra chuckled and shook her head "Your dogs are super well trained," She said, glancing up at him.
"Thanks," Rico said, "I spent the better part of a year making sure they were well trained. Since I live alone, with school and work and all that, I can't have them too unruly" Bolt trotted happily between Shira and Rico, content with just being outside
Dierra nodded "Yeah, that wouldn't be good." She looked at the dogs and smiled, thinking about how fun it would be to have a dog.
