He sighed softly "because I don't want to relive losing you again. That's the last memory I have before they cast me out of heveans when I was 17, losing an essential part of me. When I found you again, it felt as if I found that part of me I left behind. I had always thought it was my angelic abilities but it wasn't. It was you. And I will not lose you again, not to heveans and not to a demon."
Nathaniel hugged him tightly, blinking away tears. "M-Me too, except it was more my wings than anything… I felt empty and alone and scared, but when I found you again… that all changed."
He smiled softly and hugged him as tight as he could without hurting either of them. "I love you nath. I've loved you ever since we met and I'll love you long after the end of the world." He kissed the top of his head and laughed softly "hopefully you'll grow a bit more before that happens though."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Nathaniel huffed playfully, kissing V's jaw. "You calling me short?"
He grinned down at him, adoration and love in his eyes "maybe, I'm certainly not calling you tall." He teased
"I thought you loved me just the way I am?" Nathaniel stuck out his tongue before starting to laugh. He winced a bit, but his grin still lingered.
"I do, angel. But there's nothing saying I can't poke fun at you. And that goes for you too, you can make fun of me as much as you'd like." He laughed along with Nathaniel and nuzzled him close
Nathaniel pressed his head up against V's chin, getting himself comfortable. Considering both of them were pretty badly hurt, he didn't expect to move any time soon.
V grimaced in pain "easy beautiful one, I'm not a feather down pillow," he muttered, relaxing as the pain subsided
"Sorry…" He wrapped his arms around V, pressing himself up against him so they were touching without too much painful pressure.
"it's alright." He kissed the top of his head "I deserve that after scaring you so badly." He muttered against his skin.
"You don't deserve pain, love… please don't think that." Nathaniel murmured, closing his eyes.
He nodded for Nathaniel's sake, knowing he deserved every kind of pain his beloved went through. Only if to relieve Nathaniel's.
Nathaniel snuggled closer to V, mumbling something incoherently as he dozed off.
V watched him sleep for a bit before drifting off hinself, needing rest after the eventfully day
Nathaniel was woken up by the pain in his wings early in the morning, cuddling up into a tight, trembling ball. The pain was searing and white hot, which made him think the wound might've broken open. He gritted his teeth, exhaling sharply.
V jerked awake as he felt Nathaniel move ontop of him "everything alright angel?" He asked sleepily, glancing over at Nathaniel. "Nath I need you to relax, it's the holy water trying to heal the wound. It's gonna hurt more if you keep tightening up."
"B-But it… but it hurts…" Nathaniel coughed and grimaced, clutching his stomach. His wings were stiff and constantly shaking, which only made the pain worse.
He sat up, the effort causing his broken wings to stretch out. V let out a help of pain before shifting slightly "I know angel, but it'll help with the pain." He stroked Nathaniel's hair
Nathaniel moved closer to V, trying to relax. Having his hair pet was helping, but not much.
He masagges the other's temple "want some tea?" He asked with a small smirk "I think I still know how to make it."
"But you're hurt too… I don't want you to have to get up to make tea." He leaned into V's hair with a soft sigh.
"I'll have to get up one day." He reasoned, "plus I hate doing nothing. He leaned over and kissed Nathaniel's head before standing up and stretching out his good wing
Nathaniel whined, looking concerned. "Be careful, please…"
He smiled and nodded "since when do you know me for being not careful?" he asked teasingly, walking to kitchen
