V gently took Nathaniel's hand and laced their fingers together.
"Of course, I'll be over there soon. Say about an hour?"
"Perfect, we'll see you soon." V said, hanging up after a goodbye and setting the phone down
V gently took Nathaniel's hand and laced their fingers together.
"Of course, I'll be over there soon. Say about an hour?"
"Perfect, we'll see you soon." V said, hanging up after a goodbye and setting the phone down
"So he's coming over?" Nathaniel asked softly, nestling his head into the crook of V's neck. His skin was still hot to the touch, and he looked like he was pretty uncomfortable. His wings were dragging limply on the floor as well.
V nodded slightly and pressed his lips to the side of Nathanirl's head. "Yep, in an hour. Think you can hang in there till he comes over?" He asked, lightly running his hand along Nathaiel's wings. He opened up the window that he was beside to allow a cool breeze into the apartment.
"Mmmmnh… I guess so…" He mumbled, holding tighter to V and relaxing a bit at the breeze. He was breathing a bit heavier than usual, but he seemed to be overall okay. At the least, he wasn't feeling nauseous at the moment. "How long til they get here?"
V gently brushed his hand through Nathiel’s feathers, adjusting and preening them. “Soon, sweetheart.” He murmured against his temple, moving in front of the window so that Nath could better feel the breeze. “Im right here, love.” He reassured softly, feeling nath tighten his grip. “I’m not going anywhere.”
"Mmmm… why can't I just… feel better?" Nathaniel asked softly, sweating a bit from the fever. "I-I don't wanna take the medicine n' stuff… but… b-but I'm tired of feeling this way, y'know? It… it really sucks…"
"you did always get really sick when we were kids, maybe it's one of those times again." He replied. "Let's hope this new medicine helps." He pressed a kiss to his head and sighed softly
"Yeah, maybe… it's been a long time since I've been sick like this, though. It's really frustrating… I've been sick for a while, too. You'd think I'd be getting better by now…" He sighed as well.
"I Kno sweetheart.it really has been a while. Think it's onset by something? Stress it the weather?" He asked, moving to set Nathaniel down on the couch so he could get some water to help cool him down
"I dunno… maybe? Could've caught it from somebody out in public and my body just isn't prepared to handle it?" Nathaniel curled up on the couch with a soft whine, wrapping his wings around himself.
"hm, maybe." He passed Nath the glass of water and settled on the arm of the couch beside him. "Hopefully the worst is now past and you'll start to feel better." He offered bath a small smile, the glanced up as a knock sounded at the door. "That must be Urielle." He stood and opened the door to find the angel as well as Ariah standing there, Aria off to the side out of view of the door. "She just wanted to make sure math was alright." Urielle whispered
Nathaniel sipped at the water quietly with his eyes closed, still seeming very groggy. Thankfully, he didn't notice Ariah standing off to the side. He really didn't need to be any more stressed at the moment. He finished his water and curled up on the couch to wait for V to come back over to him.
V smiled softly and nodded "still not great but he doesn't seem to be doing any worse." He replied, checking his shoulder to glancing at Nath.
Urielle nodded "well, I hope these will help then." He said, handing V a small back with the stronger medications. "We can't stay long, we have to pick up Jarvis soon but tell Nath we said hi." Urielle poked his head through the doorway and waved at the small angel. "I hope this helps, Nath." Urielle muttered softly, not knowing if the angel was asleep or merely closing his eyes. The older angel stepped back into the apartment hallway and gently hugged V. "We'll make ourselves scarce so you two can rest. We'll drop by later this week to see how you're both doing." He promised, waving as he started down the hallway. Aruah followed behind, giving V a wave as well before they disappeared down the hallway stairs
Nathaniel wasn't asleep, but with his eyes closed, he couldn't see Urielle waving, and he couldn't hear what he said. He yawned a bit and curled his wings around himself to keep warm, his feathers all ruffled and disheveled. He honestly couldn't be bothered to preen himself when he felt so awful.
He was thankful when he heard everyone leave. He wasn't in any state to really be spending any extended amount of time with people other than V. He finally opened his eyes once the door was closed and glanced up, looking groggy and pale. "Mmmmnnhh… are they gone…?" He asked weakly. "What did they bring? What is that?" He eyed the bag in V's hands suspiciously.
V shit the door with a soft clock and walked over to Nathaniel, lightly running his fingers through the smaller angel's hair. "Yes, dearest. Urielle left. He said hi and hopes you're getting better." He murmured, lifting the back and opening it a little so that Nathaniel could see. "Just the meds Ariah suggested you should take. You don't have to take them if you don't want but there here if you do." He explained, going over to the kitchen to set the bag down before settling on the ground beside Nathaniel. "You can take them tonight if you want after dinner." He offered gently, reaching to start preening Nathaniel's wings.
"Mm…" Nathaniel eyed the meds suspiciously, not liking that they were ones specifically recommended by Ariah. He still didn't trust her at all. "I dunno… not sure if I want them." He mumbled. He was very tense and looked uncomfortable, by relaxed when V began preening him. "It's been long enough that I should be getting better on my own pretty soon, right…?"
"that's alright sweetheart, you can take the other ones for now. If you really can't handle it anymore, you can try these." He replied, gently tugging Nathaiel down into his lap sobthatvhe could reach the top portion of his wings. "Mhm, that's the hope, love." He gently pressed a kiss to Nathaniel's head. "My poor baby has been sick for so long." He cooed with a soft smile. "Need anything? Water? Food? Sleep?" V asked, stretching out his legs so that he was more comfortable while preening the rest of Nathaniels wings
"Mmmmnnhh…" Nathaniel whined vaguely, huddling closer to V as he was preened. He was exhausted and pale, and he obviously didn't look like he felt good. "So long… n' I dunno… my throat kinda hurts, I guess, so maybe water or something…? I'm not hungry… thinking about food makes me wanna throw up…" He mumbled. He huffed quietly and closed his eyes to try and relax, which was hard to do with his fever.
V gently wrapped his wings around Connor's small frame. He tucked him safely beneath his chin as he nodded slightly. He showly shifted until Nathaniel was hooked on around his waist. He walked to the kitchen and started a tea, figuring that would help reduce Nathaniel's sore throat. He lightly nudged Nathaniel's head and started to hum softly.
"I mean… it's been long enough that I should at least be starting to get better by now, right…?" Nathaniel asked weakly, his wingtips brushing the ground as V carried him into the kitchen. "I dunno how much longer I can deal with this… being sick is stupid and dumb and… and it sucks…"
V laughed softly at Nathaniel's whining but could understand his frustration. He had never been so sick, even when he had first come to Earth. He usually got over whatever illness befell him fairly quickly. "You'll be alright soon, sweetheart. Like you've said, it's been a while, so it's safe to assume the worst has passed, right? You'll be better in no time." He reassured, pressing a kiss to Connor's brow as he set him down on the counter, securing the blanket around his shoulders for warmth while he continued with making the tea.
Nathaniel huddled up in the blanket and closed his eyes with a soft sigh, still looking like he didn't feel well. His complexion was pale aside from the tint on his cheeks, flush with fever, and he had dark circles under his eyes. "Yeah, I guess so… I just wanna be able to feel good again. Feels like I've forgotten what it feels like." He laughed weakly. "I guess I'm being a bit dramatic about it, though…"
V shook his head, brows knit together in concern. "No sweetheart, you're not." He reassured, stirring the Rea a bit and watching as the liquid turned an Amber color. "You'll be good as new soon, don't worry. With the wedding coming up, you'll feel even better." He gave a small smile and gently tucked the blanket around nathaniel a bit tighter, plopping a kiss to his forehead.
Nathaniel buried his face in V's shoulder, trilling weakly as he closed his eyes. "Mmnh… I hope you're right, V…" He yawned a bit, looking exhausted as his stomach growled. "Do you think we'll be eating soon, love…? I've at least got some of my appetite back instead of being constantly nauseous…"
"so do I." He murmured, soothingly rubbing Nathaniel's back. He arched an eyebrow and nodded "of course, hon. What would you like to eat?" He asked, pressing his lips to Nathaniel's temple. "Maybe something light to ease your stomach?" He suggested, reaching over to take the tea off the stove top to cool for a bit.
