Slipping into the lunch line Ricarda landed and grabbed a tray, quickly looking over the menu.
"Hey! Back of the line!" Oakley Huntsman yelled, pushing Ricarda out.
Ricarda scowled, flying to the back. So much for the best stuff…
"Ricarda," Raelyn said, being right behind him. "Stop."
"What for?" he asked, "I'm just getting lunch"
"Not that. You need to stop pushing everyone away. That's what your parents did."
"My dad never pushed people away." said Ricarda, "He tried to reach out to them."
"Yeah, but he also pushed them away. You know that. Everyone does. It's part of his story."
"I'm not trying to push people away, alright?"
Raelyn's face portrayed sadness. "If you can't see it, that's up to you."
Ricarda sighed, Maybe I am falling into my parents stories….
"You need to find your own way," Raelyn said. "You might need to follow in your parents' footsteps, but you still need to make your own way."
"I'm trying…" he said as he ordered his lunch.
"You don't seem like you're trying hard enough."
"There are limits to what one guy ca be doing t one time," I wish they'd lay off
"There are limits to what one girl can be doing at one time too."
"Can I just eat a lunch in peace?" he asked,
(I'm gonna skip to actual legacy day)
Camila, Raelyn and Ricarda sat, watching as everyone went up and accepted their destinies. They'd become friends over the past few weeks and were now inseparable. They sat in their parents Legacy robes, Camila and Raelyn both in their mother's while Ricarda wore his father's.
Raelyn looked over and reached a hand over, placing in on Ricarda's. "You'll do great," She whispered.
Ricarda gave her a weak smile, sighing as they started calling names.
"Camila de Alva!" Camila perked up hearing her name. She stood, red Legacy Day dress standing out.
Ricarda gave her a smile as she stood.
Camila returned it with a tight lipped smile, before she walked up the stairs.
Ricarda watched in anticipation as she took the vows, and unlocked her story.
