(I'm assuming you mean four, not forty?)
"Florida?" My eyes went round. "You guys are from Florida?"
Eden’s POV:
I nodded slowly.
“Yes, we’re from Florida,” I answered, raising an eyebrow. “Is it that surprising?”
“Trust me, Eden,” Gray started. “When you’re someone who has never stepped foot outside of their own state, it is surprising. And I’m speaking only for myself.”
"College was the first time I set foot outside my home city…" I chuckled sheepishly, rubbing at the back of my neck.
Gray’s POV:
Eden nodded in understanding.
“It’s all right,” she shrugged. “You’ll like it. Florida, I mean. We’ll discuss everything else in private.”
I was confused. Why was she acting like this? She was talking as if she had everything planned out and she knew exactly what we would do and how we would do it. Travel expenses, school leave… seriously, who were these two?
"Are you sure about the plane tickets?" I asked, tugging at my sleeve. "I'd be happy to pay for mine, it must cost a lot for all four of us. Also, where are Gray and I staying?"
Eden’s POV:
“It won’t be much,” I answered nonchalantly. “Don’t worry about it. Honestly, that’s up to you both. You’re welcome to stay at my place, but if that makes you uncomfortable, I’ll reserve a hotel for you.”
Speaking of that made me realize Sterling and I would part ways for until we came back. No more sleeping together. It made me depressed just thinking about it…
Sterling’s POV:
“Eden’s good when it comes to this kind of thing. She’s a planner,” I chuckled, kissing the side of her head. “Actually, maybe we could stay in a hotel, too… I’m not looking forward to parting with you for so long.”
I blinked at Eden.
"Won't be much? For four plane tickets?"
Eden’s POV:
I fought off a blush at Sterling’s compliment.
“I think it would be nice to spend at least one day with our families,” I said softly. “We’ll stay at the hotel once the party’s over.”
“Won’t be much?” Violeta interjected, blinking at me. “For four plane tickets?”
Gray, too, gave me a baffled look. I shrugged them off.
“Five,” I corrected, counting Gray’s little sister. “It won’t cost much. I’ll book the tickets ahead of time. And as I mentioned earlier… you don’t need to worry about anything. I’ve got it covered.”
I frowned slightly, but nodded. Five plane tickets to Florida didn't cost much for a college student? What kind of money did her family have?
"You're too kind," I told her gratefully, "Thank you."
Gray’s POV:
“You should be glad I’m your friend,” Eden replied back seriously. If it hadn’t been for the smile on her face, I would have mistaken her for an arrogant rich kid. If I hadn’t known her, of course. “Jokes aside, don’t be so formal with me. We’re friends. I invited you to something miles away. The least I could do is take care of the expenses.”
“But you’re doing something unnecessary,” I interjected. I didn’t like anything being paid for me. I was an adult with a job—I could pay for myself. I knew Eden didn’t mean anything bad with what she was doing, but I was rather hoping we could pay for ourselves. Then again, I should be grateful. I wasn’t well off like the others. I didn’t have plenty of money lying around. “I really don’t want to use you both.”
Eden looked at me like I’d grown a head or two.
“It would have been that way had you made me pay for you, Gray,” I think that was the first time she actually called me by my nickname. “I’m doing this because I want to.”
Sterling's POV:
"Trust us, it'll be covered easily. And we don't mean to make it seem like we don't think you could pay for yourselves, but this one is on us. We're treating you for the weekend," I said with my signature charming grin.
I brushed a lock of hair behind my ear.
"Thank you guys, really. I'll pay you back someway, I promise."
(brb sorry
I'll be fifty minutes, tops)
Gray’s POV:
I sighed, running a hand through my hair.
“All right, you win,” I gave in, sighing deeply. “But like Vy said, we’ll pay you back.”
Eden didn’t object to that. She simply gave a nod of her head.
“Fair enough,” she said in a voice that made it seem like she was paying attention, but I knew she was far more distracted by the grin on Sterling’s face. How did I know? Because she was staring at him with a dazed look on her face.
I briefly wondered if that was how Violeta looked like when I smiled.
(Take your time~)
Sterling's POV:
I nodded with that same smile on my lips. "Seems good to me," I agreed before glancing down at Eden. With a chuckle, I flicked her nose and winked teasingly. "See something you like, babe?"
Eden’s POV:
I rubbed my nose, glaring at Sterling, trying to cover the blush on my cheeks.
“As a matter of fact, I did,” I grumbled. “Until you did that.”
Sterling's POV:
I laughed before kissing her forehead. "Sorry, love. You're just too cute to not tease."
Eden’s POV:
I touched the spot he kissed with a soft look in my eyes.
“You should be glad I love you…”
Sterling's POV:
My gaze immediately softened at her words, and I gently pulled her closer to me. "I am. Trust me, I am so glad that you love me," I assured her in a murmur.
Eden’s POV:
My heart hammered wildly in my chest and in that moment, I forgot we even had company.
Sterling’s words lit a flame inside of me like they always did. His words always made me feel like I was floating.
I leaned into his embrace, shutting my eyes.
“I’m glad, too,” I whispered back. “That I’m in love with you. That you’re in love with me. And that we’re together.”
(back now, sorry)
Seeing as Sterling and Eden were otherwise occupied, I leaned my head against my boyfriend's shoulder. "You're going to see me in a gown for the first time…… I, personally, cannot wait to see you in a suit."
Gray’s POV:
I pulled her in front of me so I could wrap my arms around her neck, resting my forehead against hers.
“Whatever you wear, you’ll look perfect,” I told her sincerely. “I just hope I’ll be able to fit into your frame. Do choose a dress that won’t make others fall for you.”
"I have eyes only for you," I told Gray softly, slinging my arms around his neck.
Gray’s POV:
I gave her a quick peck on the lips.
“I still have to try hard,” I murmured. “I have a beautiful girlfriend. I need to at least look like I’m at your level, even if you’re way ahead of me.”
