@Mr.Misfit

Dylan followed, twirling a dagger between his fingers. "I'd suggest going after Wings first, then." he offered, "She loves commotion, so if we get tangled up in a fight with RF she'll be there before you know it."

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“Ah, yeah. Red Falcon is a sucker for drama, too, so she would definitely make a commotion,” Avery agreed, sitting down on one side of the couch. “How does Wings think?”

@Mr.Misfit

Dylan raised his hand and counted off on his fingers, "She'll try to catch ya midday, when I can't do much and she gets extra energy. She'll try to kill you. She will not let the fight go on for too long, else she'll turn tail and come back to bite you later, after she's sapped some more energy." He stared off into space, then remembered something, "Oh yeah, and she'll get angry very quickly. She once tried to split me in two… she ended up hitting a car, and kinda blew the whole thing up. After that I had to get a shard of aluminum removed from my arm."

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Avery’s eyebrows shot up as she listened to Shadow explaining the woman. She nodded slowly, chewing on her lip in thought.

“Okay, so well have to be quick, then. Seems like the faster we do this, the better. And we’ll have to make sure we’re not very close to a power source, too,” she mused. “And we’ll have to be careful not to anger her… Unless we could use it to our advantage somehow…”

@Mr.Misfit

"No…. No.." Dylan shook his head, "She caught a dog in the crossfire once. There weren't even ashes to give back. If we can avoid pissing her off, that'd make the fight a lot easier… and a lot safer." He reviewed his advice, compared it to what Aspect had said, then nodded, "Other than that, yeah. Quick, away from power, and during night, preferably. But unless we flush her out that's unlikely. Any ideas other than that?"

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Avery sighed and glanced around thoughtfully. How could they flush her out…?

“When I was fighting her — well, tracking is really a better word, I guess — um… I used the form of a wolf to find her. I’m pretty sure she hated it and thought that it was leading me to her. I’m not sure if she even knew that I’m a shapeshifter,” she explained. “So maybe if I change into that form and go wait outside for her she’ll come out…”

@Mr.Misfit

"Eh…. Are you sure?" Dylan asked, hesitant to put his new ally in danger, "Maybe it'd be better to just call her out. If she's still gathering info on you, she won't try to kill you….probably. She likes digging up secrets…."

To hell with the talkabouts, Dylan, cut to the chase!

He rolled his eyes and flattened his tone, "Look. She'll take you out as soon as she glimpses you. You're not going out there just to piss her off. There's other ways."

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(I know… I don’t know what to do, so I was waiting for someone else to respond…)

“I see,” Avery murmured, nodding slowly as she took in the information. “All right, so no wolf, then. Not unless we need her to track something… Anything else?”

@Mr.Misfit

Dylan raised his hands in an apologetic I dunno, and yawned, "Aaahh, ah crap. I'm out of it. There a hotel or somewhere I can hunker down for tonight?"

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“Well… There is one a few miles away, but it’s pretty crappy. And the next closest one is super high-end…” Avery mused thoughtfully. “I suppose you could stay here if you need somewhere to stay. We’ve got an extra room, and the girls and I rarely even sleep here, anyway.”

@Mr.Misfit

Dylan shrugged, "I wouldn't want to be an intrusion, especially since I only just got here and I'm the only guy, but so long as your team doesn't mind, I don't mind either. lead the way."

Slipping his phone out of his pocket, he left a note to his friends at college saying he'd be out of town, then followed Aspect down the hall to his room.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Avery nodded and led him down the hall. She opened the door to a smaller blue-gray room with a single, black bed in the center. The sheets were white, making the room almost seem monotone, we’re it not for the blue tint to the walls. A white dresser sat against the wall opposite the bed, and a white nightstand was beside the bed.

“You can stay in here. The girls and I never use this room,” she explained as she moved aside to let him look around.

@Mr.Misfit

"A room's a room," he replied, slipping in, "I'm not picky. Just knock or something if and when you need me. I'll probably be sleeping light tonight."

Wishing one more goodnight to Aspect, he uncovered his face once she was gone and sighed. Today had been long, and the day tomorrow would be worse. The anticipation of the fight would drive him up a wall.

Dylan threw himself into the bed, and his mind switched off, like a computer with the power unplugged.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Avery had left Shadow to his room, bidding him a quick goodnight as she stepped out. Quietly, she made her way down the hall and back to the kitchen. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d eaten that day… Or if she even had, really.

A few minutes later, she had a Hot Pocket in her hands as she made her way to the couch. She pulled her phone out and sent a quick text to her sister.

AVERY: Not going to be home tonight. Working late.

COURTNEY: Again? Okay. Well, goodnight, I guess.

AVERY: Night.

@Mr.Misfit

(I return! Ah, the lovely IN weather has switched personalities yet again!

That depends if we want to act out the daily aspect of Dylan and Avery. Or we could do the morning to give our villains time to interact….)

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(Lol. M’kay.)

It was five in the morning… Five in the freaking morning, when Avery woke up. She tried to fall asleep — honestly! — but, unfortunately, she failed at doing so.

In order to not waste any time, she finally rolled out of bed around 5:15. After a quick change from her pink, kitty-print pajamas — they were a gift from her aunt for Christmas one year, and they were too comfortable to not wear — into a regular T-shirt and jeans, she made her way out to the kitchen. Due to her still-tired brain, she forgot that there was another person in the hideout, and that he didn’t — and shouldn’t — know her identity. Her mask was left forgotten on the nightstand beside her bed.

A few minutes later, she was starting a pot of coffee. Her back was to the entrance to the kitchen as she poured herself a quick bowl of cereal.

@Mr.Misfit

Dylan didn't react outwardly react to his quiet alarm, but his mind began to reboot. As every little thought process seemed to wake up and return to it's usual function, he began to marvel at the events of yesterday. He opened his eyes, finding the ceiling to be blue-grey, rather than it's usual white. He wasn't in his room at home?

Slowly, he sat up, and sat confused until his memory fully recovered. Aspect's place. Spare room. 5:15. ish.

Dylan threw his legs over the side of the bed and got up, finding his balance quickly. He pocketed his phone and looked about. The scent of coffee reached out to him from somewhere down the hall.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Avery looked up from her bowl at the sound of movement coming from one of the other rooms. It didn’t sound like one of the girls, so who…

Oh. Oh, shoot… She’d forgotten about Shadow being there.

After setting her bowl down, she pushed herself up onto the counter before shifting to hide her face. While she could just shift her head into a different animal’s, it gave her a headache when she did that. Any other part of her body was fine to shift into just a part of an animal, but doing her head was not fun.

So, when Shadow arrived in the kitchen, a small, silver cat was sitting on the counter. Her tail was wrapped around her paws as she watched for the man to walk in, the bowl of cereal beside her momentarily abandoned.

@Mr.Misfit

Dylan approached with his face already covered, a weird start to his morning compared to the usual. Aspect, though, started off her morning in an even weirder way, it seemed.

She was a cat sitting on the counter next to a bowl of cereal.

He almost smiled underneath the shadows that hid his face, but he kept his face a fairly neutral friendly as he approached.

"Good morning, Aspect. You're looking especially cozy today."

That had come out harsher than he had meant it to, so he added, "The fur probably helps out. I'm always cold in the mornings."

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Avery rolled her eyes, the tip of her tail twitching slightly at his comments. She shuffled her paws a little and stepped closer to the man.

“I forgot that you were here and walked out without my mask,” she explained, her voice slightly higher pitched than usual. “So I shifted into a cat. This is not how I spend most mornings… Not anymore, anyway.”
