"I won't," Autumn murmured, ignoring the pain in her stomach. It wasn't caused by indigestion, that was for sure…
Alex hummed softly and looked out his window. He took up his hum into a soft song.
"I hope we get back soon," Autumn muttered. "Or else I might explode on these seats."
Alex gave her a concerned look. "We'll be there in about five minutes."
Autumn gave him a thumbs up. She could last that long. Probably…
(I know that feel)
Alex gave her a soft smile and looked back out the window. Soon, the taxi pulled up at the apartment complex and to the hotel. Alex got out and held the door open for her.
Autumn carefully got out of the car and stumbled to the nearest trash can. She didn't even care who saw her as she threw up.
Alex hurriedly paid the driver, told him to scoot, shut the door and ran over to Autumn just as she finished puking her guts out.
"Are you okay?"
Autumn nodded, still bent over the garbage.
"I wasted all your money… Sorry…" she murmured weakly.
Alex put a hand on her back. "That's alright. You… certainly enjoyed it then."
"Mmhm… Cheesecake does not taste as good coming back up as it does going down," Autumn muttered, straightening.
Alex gently took his hand off of her back. "I know. Puking sucks, I'm sorry. Would you like me to help you to your room?"
Autumn nodded slowly as she started toward her apartment. "Please."
Alex put a hand on her shoulder and opened up the door to the complex. "Alright, elevator or staircase? Well, what floor do you live on?"
"Third. Elevator," Autumn answered simply. She ignored the stares of the other tenants lounging in the lobby.
Alex steered her to the elevator and pressed the hailing button. It came down and he got on after a few people got off.
"Which unit?" He asked quietly as he pressed the 3.
"Three-fourth-seven, to the left," Autumn said quietly.
"Alright." Alex waited until they reached floor three then steered her out of the elevator. He looked around and spotted her room.
"Here we are…" He hummed as he led her over.
Autumn dug her keys out of her purse and handed them to Alex. She leaned against the wall, closing her eyes as she waited.
Alex fiddled with the keys before unlocking the door and pushing it open. "Alright, in you go."
Autumn opened her eyes a bit as she stepped inside. She turned to Alex and gave him a weak smile.
"Thanks. You can go now, if you want to," she said, her voice sore.
Alex raised an eyebrow. "If I want to? Do you want me to go?"
"I mean, only if you don't want to stay… I'd certainly enjoy the company, though I can't say how much you'd enjoy my sick company," Autumn said with a wry smile.
Alex rolled his eyes. "I'd love to stay with you. In case your shaky legs send you tumbling, I'll be here."
Autumn rolled her eyes. "Thanks. I was honestly just going to go to bed, though… Maybe take a shower or something."
