(don't worry she gets whats due to her.) "Well you, come off as a commoner. I cannot help it. Theres no accent, nor a single expensive item about your person. That alone gives off the air of stingy, which means that imposing may start arguments between us two. And if he's even half as old as I am, then the war between werewolves and vampires is still hot in his blood, and he wouldn't take too kindly to me showing up on his doorstep." She crossed her arms as she put now a folded out newspaper over her head, ignoring the odd stares she got. A fellow vampire stopped her, and gave her his umbrella, bowed, and he took the newspaper as she curtsied. It was deep black with the design of blood dripping down it. "Cheap, but better then that Extra."
Oop-)) Sam frowns and shakes his head, pinching the bridge of his nose between his fingers and closing his eyes for a bit. He eventually opens his eyes again and puts his hand in his pocket, following after her albeit regretfully. Maybe he should've just not gotten close to the statue at all, that wouldve been easier on him and everyone else. "Whatever you say lady.." he grunts
"Valentina. Remember short girls are closer to your stick and berries." Suddenly she stops dead in her tracks, spotting a very high end boutique. She almost drops the umbrella as dresses decorate the stands. Slowly she floats forward, pressing her hands up to the glass as her pink eyes study the make of the dress. Each stitch and fold was under careful scrutiny. It was a red fading to white cocktail dress with a long train after it,a pattern of flowers covering the whole thing. Completely forgetting about her companion she floats into the store, now letting the umbrella flop and clatter to the ground as she spun around and around, her head swimming. A short stocky woman, with a big wart on the side of her face came waddling out, her hair high up in a beehive. She as obviously nearly as old as Valentina. "AH! My little bat!" The lady's grumpy expression changed to one of thrill as she hugged Valentina and covered her in kisses. "Aunt Marilynn!" "Look at you, right back from the dead! And your skin is so soft, and what a fine figure you have. Tell me, who released you from your stonly prison?" Valentina went to refer to the stranger she'd been dragging around, too find he was still dwaddling outside.
Sam didn't really feel like following her, he honestly just felt like leaving her here but he knew that wasn't an option. He was leaning against the outer wall of the boutique now, digging into his pockets to pull out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. He just figured he would wait for her outside, have a well deserved smoke, it helped ease stress for him
The aunt shook her head. "You can stay with me for a while." "Why are you even here? Is our mansion alright?" "Dark and deadly as always Vally. I'm an outcast due to my husband being a selkie. He's off getting me some fabric currently. I wouldn't go home, I can smell it on you. That's a werewolf." "He's not my true love." "I said that about William, and now we're discussing children and a bigger boutique. Give it time, modern up. And go bring him in." Valentina grabbed her umbrella and looked outside. "Come. My aunt wants you."
Sam looks at Valentina before huffing. Well at least he didn't get to light his cigarette yet, then he would have to stub out a perfectly good one since he doubted whoever Valentina was talking to wanted someone smoking in their boutique. He puts the cigarettes and lighter back in his pocket, stepping inside and glancing around for a bit before looking at Valentinas aunt. "Oh uh..hello there ma'am"
She looked him up and down, and lifted one of his arms. "Not very strong, luckily my precious deadly nightshade here has me. My husband teaches karate, we'll get you both some classes. You'll need it through the years. She'll be staying with me." Valentina was already taking outfit after outfit off the racks, absolutely in love with fashion. After Marilynn glanced over at Valentina, making sure she was distracted, she floated close too Sam and took his hand, and gently led him over to a small padded bench near the changing rooms, and sat the both of them down. "I already know she's been ragging on you and pushing you around. She was brought up VERY differently, and it's good you didn't fight back. In her state, she'd be in handcuffs and you'd be in dog heaven if you did. She's going to be suspicious if you try to get close to her so, be kind. Once she eats she'll be nicer, but overall is very secluded, even when she was a little tot getting her fangs just in. It's been deeply ingrained in her to trust no one, especially her own parents. So give her time. Remember she likes fashion, and wear a smile. You look better with one." "I want all of these dresses now." "Now…?" Valentina sighed. "Now please." "Not without enough money you won't. But I'll make you some more simple day clothes tonight. I'm running low on orders anyways. Your friend here can be on his way." "He'll have to be back tomorrow to get me my order from the blood bank." "Ah perfect! Tomorrow I'll be taking you two out to a night picnic, where you all can mingle with some of the other monsters, watch some fireworks. Yes. Both of you. It'll be good for you."
Sam nods and watches Valentinas aunt, huffing softly as he watches the two talk. He blinks when the aunt mentions the night picnic, fidgeting with the end of his sleeves. If he wasn't mistaken, wasn't tomorrow the full moon? Or was he getting his dates wrong again? He knew it was sometime soon, since he was already getting somewhat hairier and bulkier than he usually was, "I..alright then.." he mumbles and glances away, not wanting to be rude by declining
She nodded once as Valentina reluctantly put everything back, rather disappointed that she couldn't have the clothes,a downcast and sour expression on her face. Marilynn sighed. "Come back tomorrow right quick. Valentina could collapse tomorrow for all we know. She needs something to eat soon before she starts rk attack civilians." (Remember to read whole responses! I only say this coz you didn't react at all do Marilynn giving Sam advice.)
Yeah sorry- I'll try doing better at reading whole responses-)) "Alright..well I'll..be on my way. Have a nice day, and I'll be over as soon as I can tomorrow" he puts on a smile, shivering a little and walking over to the door. He was a bit nervous about tomorrow, but he's sure it'll be fine- Sam waves at the both of them before walking away down the sidewalk
The next day, Valentina woke up tired and weak, and hardly able to get up and walk. Her aunt only had enough provisions for herself,so she couldn't provide any too Valentina until Sam showed up with her blood.
Sam wakes up and blinks, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and huffing softly. He had to get the blood to Valentina, right, as soon as he can. He sighs and gets up, getting dressed and quickly exiting the building, bringing the blood back to the boutique since he figured that's probably where Valentina is staying
Valentina waited impatiently, and if she knew what a phone was, she'd already be blowing up your phone with angry texts. If she was strong enough to even do that. She used almost all of her energy yesterday, instead of spacing it out with rest, which would've been smarter. But alas, she had too much on her mind. Her aunt was in the shop tidying up, humming to herself quietly as she swept away.
Sam arrives and hesitates for a bit before opening the door, stepping inside the boutique and looking around for Valentinas aunt, clearing his throat when he sees her. "Um..I have the blood for Valentina, should I just..give it to you?" He tilts his head and watches the aunt
She took the box from him, and rushed up the stairs, blackout curtains drawn tight as Valentina lay there in a bed. "Good morning my little mince meat, I have brought you breakfast." Valentina took a blood bag, and soon had drained 4 of them. "Careful Batty. These have to last you a month." Her mother lectured as Valentina stretched. "Tis strange sleeping during the night. Don't the other vampires have coffins and such they sleep on?" "I'll explain it all to you later. Your friend is here." "I do not have friends, merely acquantices who have decided I am not an enemy yet." "Spoken just like your father. Nonetheless, you will be working here to help with rent. Up and attem! And let's get you changed so you don't look like a walking piece of history." Soon she descended the stairs in a long black tube skirt, a different pair of heels, and a red and black polkadot shirt. She looked like her aunt. "I'm sorry I don't have anything more stylish currently, but I will make you some clothes today. I promise. For now, you just have to dress like a mini-me." Valentina looked clearly annoyed, her eyes a deep pink as she glowered and grabbed the broom, picking up where her aunt left off. "Oh yes and the party tonight! It begins at 10, down by the beach. So be here before then, we have quite the ride there."
Sam blinks and watches Valentina, just thinking that she looked really pretty- He blinks and huffs a little from what was said, putting his hands into his pockets. "Ah..about the uh..the party..I don't think I would be able to make it tonight? Sorry about the inconvenience.." he shivers and just messes with a piece of lint that was in his pocket-
"Ah, you won't be the only werewolf there. It's a sort of celebration of meeting all monster kin, to create friendships, peace, and settle time old resolves. There's even hunting races! They breed the fastest elk they have, and raise it's young, then release one into a forest. Marked. And the werewolves all go hunting, to prove who is the fastest hunter. The prize is the deer. You'll fit right in. I can't believe you've never gone before. Surely, a few full moons you've gone chasing after wolf pups, howling at the moon. When you were younger anyways." Valentina made no commentary whatsoever, just focusing on her chores.
"Ah..alright then..the reason I haven't really gone before is because I usually don't settle in one place for long.." he huffs and glances up at the aunt before glancing around the boutique somewhat anxiously. He never liked going out when he was..like..that, for multiple reasons. "What…time do you want me to come here? Exactly?"
"Wolves naturally don't settle. They migrate, like geese. Always moving. Around 9:30 if you'd please, Valentina quit trying to set the floor on fire with your eyes. You're the wrong mythical creature to do that. Now, go clean up the clothes racks, we'll be opening soon." Valentina sighed as she dumped the cloth scraps and other little bits and pieces, into a trash bin, before her eyes drifted over too Sam. She noticed that in the sunlight, which only came right down the center of the shop, he was almost handsome. His eyes shone like honey. Vampires normally flew in through the windows to get orders and the like, if they dared to leave their coffin during the day.
"Alright.." he sighs and shifts his weight from foot to foot, glancing up at Valentina for a bit and watching her for a second before looking out the window. Valentina was..really pretty to him, from her eyes to her hair to..pretty much everything. He clears his throat a bit and looks back at the aunt, "Im..a bit busy today so I might arrive only a bit late, but it's nothing to worry about"
"Late's alright. It will give beauty queen extra time to get ready. Now then Val, I will be letting you wear a dress off the racks here. Please don't get it so dirty I can't clean it out to almost brand new." "I am a statue of beauty and grace. No more then a few small rocks shall get upon my dress, as long as the wolves keep their drool off of me, then it will stay in near mint condition." "That's a good girl, but werewolves are much more refined and controlled. At least, the elders are. It's the teens, like Sam here, who are still training to figure out how to contain their beastly personalities when they transform. You'll be okay." Valentina nodded, as she suddenly grabbed a milk brown suit, and held it up Sam. "This would go well with your eyes." She said, a little less gruffly as she floated around him, checking his build, carefully avoiding the sunbeams. "If you slicked back your hair, and with a good pair of black dress shoes to make things different, it'd look good on you. It compliments your hair, while drawing to your honey brown eyes, and softens your whole physique." She handed Sam the suit. "Try it on." It was a gentler voice, still with a strong backbone, but one could tell she very nearly said please.
"Mm..well..one of my eyes is actually blue instead of brown like the other one, but alright.." he mumbles and takes the suit, looking it over for a bit. The last time he wore a suit was literally when he was 10 and going to his cousins wedding, so that's nice- "Its a nice suit.."
"It's made out of the finest french silk." Her aunt chimed in, and hung a blue tie over the door. "Trust me, it'll work. Valentina has eyes like a hawk for fashion." "Oh hush." She huffed and stood there, waiting for him to finish.
Sam smiles a bit at Valentinas reaction, tilting his head at what the aunt says however. "Oh.." he mumbles and puts the suit on, trying not to mess anything up- he grabs the tie and puts it on as best as he could, fumbling with the tie slightly. "You really don't have to do this.." he mumbles mostly to himself-
Valentina pulls you out and huffs, straightening the suit jacket and the tie. "It's all crooked and wrinkled. Clearly it's been a while since you've put one on! And look your suspenders are all twisted and askew!" She took off the suit jacket and started to make adjustments, as her aunt smiled mischievously. Valentina put the jacket back on and floated around him. "We need to cinch the waist on the pants, and make the suspenders a bit longer, they're almost too stretched out." Her aunt sighed. "That's been sitting on the clearance rack for almost a year now. A lot of my customers just don't like the soft brown. If you like it, you can have it. Free of charge. It's been sitting around forever, and collecting dust. It's like it was waiting for you Sam."
