Sirus nodded in agreement, "I'll have to double-check my packs too," he said thoughtfully, walking quietly beside here as they approached her tent, stepping back to let her inside first.

Gwen smiled a little at the gentlemanly gesture as she walked in and began to gather what she would need for their quest. She had been used to actions like that back in the palace but had adapted in her life with the tribe. Sirius most likely didn't know but in the tribe, that action was usually reserved for married couples or if someone had an interest in courting another.

Sirus definitely didn't know that, and was really just trying to be polite more than anything, but that didn't really matter as it was still clear he was an outsider. Regardless, he followed after her, moving out of her way and over to where he'd left his packs, mentally running down the list of what he needed to be in them and what should be in them and what wouldn't, and what he needed to double-check.

Gwen recognized this and had assumed he was just being thoughtful, which is why she didn't comment on the act or explain the gesture’s meaning for the tribe. She was very focused and organized as she started setting everything aside to pack. Her hooded cloak would be necessary if they ended up in a town where she would be recognized, a small bag of first aid supplies which had fortunately already been restocked before her last hunt, her bedroll could wait till morning, and Rhes had already offered to give them food for the first few days…

Sirus was soon pulling stuff out of his pack, knives, a blanket, a light med kit good for stitching up and bandaging wounds, a spare change of clothing, some dried provisions he kept for emergencies. He frowned at his med kit and his stores, putting the clothing back and inspecting the knives and few other pieces of field gear he'd pulled out. He'd need to pick up a few replacements, but most of his stuff was still good.

Gwen hummed a little before grabbing a couple other pieces of clothing, not that she had many now. She had torn and burnt the gown she had arrived in to show she was serious about starting her training with the tribe. After grabbing her bag and starting to fill it, she decided she would need some more arrows and realized she still had the axe she took from the bounty hunter earlier. “Could be useful…” she murmured.

(Arrrgh…)
(I stalk too many threads I think…)
(also feel free to bump this more regularly if you want… You shouldn't have to be waiting weeks for my replies… Like, three day gaps are pretty normal for me to switch between RPs, but this one gets lost pretty easy for some reason…O
.
Sirus looked up when he heard her speak, noting the axe in her hand. "Do you know how to use that well enough for it to be effective?" he asked calmly, "It'll dull pretty quick if we try to use it for wood," he noted, as the author completely fabricates this as fact.

(Lol I do too)
(Ok. I’ll try to remeber that. Thanks.)

Gwen nodded slowly. “I think so… I remember practicing with a weapon like this before.” she answered before blushing slightly. “Though I didn't become very proficient with it… I can always practice a bit more while we travel. And I have a whetstone somewhere.” she added as she started a brief search for the aforementioned tool.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

"Will you be able to handle that alone?" asked Sirus, "I have no expertise with axes, even defensively" he said, "usually I put distance between them and me and hope for the best, or use my shadows." his tone was calm, simply pointing out the facts of the matter. The axe could be useful later, but if neither of them could use it properly, or learn to use it properly, then it would be dead weight in their packs. That, and he knew from experience how hard it was to self-teach.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Gwen nodded a bit more confidently. “I should be able to. I know the basics and it's a less obvious weapon than taking a spear.” she reasoned. “At least it will be a good backup if nothing else… and a good tool.” she added, sure in her ability to take care of the ax. She couldn't really see a downside to bringing it.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Damian shrugged, "As long as you can handle it." he said, figuring she'd learn the hard way if the opposite was true, and if he was wrong, well, good for her. "What else will you need to add to your packs?" he asked, tucking his back up and together, leaving room to add Gwen's stuff to the strap his bags were attached to.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Gwen shrugged a little at Sirus's question. “I think mostly I just need some more arrows. I should have everything else… Except food but that shouldn't be a problem.” she answered. She knew how to make more arrows in case she lost some on their journey but she didn't want to be in a situation where she ran out, especially early on.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus nodded, "Alright." he said, "So where do you restock on arrows?" he asked, settling back on his knees to watch her, giving no signs whatsoever that his burns from earlier were hurting him.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“The weaponsmith.” she answered. “She usually takes care of any extra weapons and makes sure the tribe is well supplied. Everyone says she used to be a really good warrior until she lost her eye in a battle.”

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus nodded, "Shall we head there then and get you some arrows then?" he asked, finishing with his own packs and leaning back so he was upright and balanced.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus nodded, moving back out of the tent and waiting for Gwen to lead the way. "Nervous?" he asked, trying to gauge how she felt about this.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Gwen sighed a little and nodded as she joined him outside. “I’d be a fool not to be, wouldn't I?” she said. “Finding out you're being hunted and having to leave home… I would think that would shake anyone.”

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

"For most, yes." Said Sirus, "but for others, to be hunted is simply a fact of life." His tone was even and u ruffled, despite the stinging pain across his belly from the burns.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

"That's fair," he said, "And in your case nervousness will probably be a benefit, you'll be more alert and aware of your surroundings once we're out of safe territory." He waited patiently for her to lead the way, wanting to shift again so he wouldn't have to worry about the sting from his burns.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Gwen smiled a little at him, trying to take his words as assuring, and started walking. Though she wasn't sure what could be considered “safe territory” anymore. She knew that Sirus had most likely meant the tribe's lands and where they hunted but since the attack… It didn't really feel as safe as it did before.
