Gwen shook her head thoughtfully. “No… I don't think so. I’ve walked that trail a dozen times before and I can’t remember it being that quiet.” she told him, fairly sure. Though she would admit to being a little paranoid because of the attack. Gwen snatched the paper, her eyes widening as she read it. “Well, he's going to have to get used to waiting. I… I’m not going back until I earn my title as a warrior.” she stated, her hands trembling as she thought of who else might come after her. She wasn't really scared for herself but the people here who cared for and took her in.
(I just realized, for the past 10 + pages; I’ve been accidentally calling Corvin “Corbin”! 😅)
(I thought it was Corbin??? Or is it actually Corvin? Is a little confused)
(Originally it was supposed to be Corvin. I even double checked the first time I mentioned his name. I feel so dumb now)
(Hmmmm…. interesting.. Also honestly I don't think it's dumb. I have one character that I keep changing the name of cause I can't remember his name. (Last time it was Frostpaw, but it's also been other variations like -claw or -fang)
(Also I kinda like Corbin better than Corvin?? I understand if you want to change it back tho)
(What's interesting? The V and the B are right next to each other on the keyboard and autocorrect might have played a hand in the change)
(Though honestly, some of my characters for my actual stories go through dozens of name changes. I’m still not completely sold on a couple and several others don't even have names yet 😅)
(I guess for the RP he can stay Corbin… I did go back and edit some of my posts to Corvin but I didn't get very far.)
(I mean it's interesting cause it may have been me that started it, as I remember a while ago trying to remember his name; then writing Corbin expecting to get corrected and it never did… (This was a WHILE ago, so like ten or so pages back sounds reasonable))
(And seriously, names are annoying… the tales in my head often stop when I need a new chara name, and sometimes it takes me weeks to find one.)
(oh, ok.)
(That is definitely a mood. Though I try to at least write around that if I can. Sometimes I give them a temporary name and change it later.)
(Actually for me there are two integral things to a character… 1 is their name, and the second is their magic. Both help me figure out what kind of person they are and where they fit into the story, oftentimes if I don't have an element picked out, I go by name first.)
(Fair enough. For me, it's the role they play in the story that's the most important part. And the personality they have. If I can't write them without knowing that, that scene, at least, comes to a screeching halt.)
(That's important too! But for me that's generally all solidified with a name.)
(Nothing wrong with that.)
(want me to repost my reply for you?)
Sirus stood after he finished searching Drake's corpse, "Understandable, but how do you plan on dealing with the other that will come?" he asked, wanting to hear her input before trying to figure out any solutions. "I can guarantee you not all of them will be as easy to deal with as this lot."
Gwen mulled over the question for a while before answering. “Well, the tribe is nomadic. If it took this long to find me this time then moving would buy the tribe more time.” she hoped as she started pacing. “Obviously, we'll have to show this to the Cheif and chances are that he’ll agree that the tribe has to move…”
Sirus nodded, "Except moving the tribe won't keep them safe for long." He looked back at Drake thoughtfully, "It'll only be a matter of days before the next ones show up, depending on how quickly they were recruited.
Gwen sighed in acknowledgement and looked at the contract again. “It’s not the tribe they'll be looking for.” she said softly. “What if I left? The tribe would still move but I could take my warrior trial and head in a different direction.” she suggested, a bit reluctant to actually leave… But she could always try to find them again.
Sirus seemed intrigued by this, motioning for her to elaborate a little further, wondering himself if there was any extra merit to her plans.
Gwen shrugged a little at his gesture since she was just making this plan up as she went along. “I’d have to get the Cheif to agree with that but… When someone goes away for their trial, if they live alone, their tent is taken down and stored with their family while they get something smaller and simpler to take.” she explained. “And remember what I said about this came last for a couple months? If mine is that long, then the bounty hunters should have no reason to keep bothering the tribe.” she paused for a moment and sighed. “The only problem I can picture is Merik. I'm not certain if he would sell me out… Even if he did, chances are he wouldn't know where I’m going.”
Sirus nodded in approval at this, "That may actually work, and unless this Merik knows where you're going, then no, you shouldn't have any problems avoiding them so long as you laay low and keep moving."
Gwen shook her head. “Only the Chief, myself, and my mentor would know… Ah, damn.” she grumbled as she realized something important. “Corbin can't know because he's hurt. He won’t be able to come with me.” she explained.
Sirus hummed, "I'm assuming he would have to come with you… is there anyone else who could replace him in the tribe?" he asked, if there isn't anyone…. No. It's unlikely the tribe chief will allow me to accompany her alone. Not if he knows anything about Nightshade. He sighed internally, wanting to help but not sure how.
Gwen nodded. “The Chief can pick any warrior from the tribe to go on these trials if the mentor is unable to go.” she confirmed, though she wasn't comforted by that fact. Corbin had been the only one who had been willing to train her. She didn't know what the others would be like.
