“I… I can't move my arm.” Corbin groaned through a pain-filled grimace. “I need… I need to see the healer. This has to come out.”

Gwen was extremely worried about her adoptive father figure. She held his uninjured hand, trying not to let her eyes get glossy as she looked up at Sirus. “Can you help me get him there?”

Sirus let out a soft sigh, then nodded "I think so." he said softly, grimacing a bit. "This is gonna hurt.." he crouched down and gently started lifting Corbin into a sitting position, tugging Corbin's uninjured arm up over his shoulder and wrapping his other arm around the other's waist under his injured arm. . "Gwen you'll need to lead the way." he said softly,

Corbin nodded, groaning as he was moved but didn’t fight. He did put a majority of his weight on Sirus as he stood however. “Thank you, my friend.” he said a little breathlessly.

“Ok.” Gwen nodded vigorously as she picked up the ax and the dagger before standing and quickly leading the way back to the camp.

Sirus kept silent at that, not sure how to respond to that, again. That and he was tired and maybe a little woozy…. But that didn't matter, what mattered was getting Corbin to the healer, so he focused on supporting his weight and followed after Gwen as best he could.

“Healer!” Gwen called out as the tent came into view.

Corbin was doing his best to walk with Sirus, though the pain and blood loss was making him a bit lightheaded.

The healer opened their tent in annoyance at the shouting. They were an older member of the tribe and a bit of a grouch with a candid bedside manner. “What? What happened?”

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus helped Corbin to the tent, glaring a little bit at the healer, "We were attacked, obviously." he said flatly. "And your friend here is gonna pass out here in a second.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

The healer raised a brow at the stranger and his attitude but stood aside, keeping the opening clear. “You look like you're about to pass out yourself. Bring him in and get him on the bed.” was the equally flat response.

Sirus resisted the urge to growl at the man in annoyance, gently guiding Corbin inside and laying him down on the bed, wobbling a bit himself as he was relieved of the other man's weight.

Corbin groaned again at the action but managed to place his uninjured hand on Sirus’s shoulder in a gesture of comradery.

“Right. You, sit down over there.” the healer told Sirus firmly, waving vaguely to the other side of the tent. “Gwendolyn, put those toys away and help me hold Corbin down.”

“Yes, healer.” Gwen nodded, setting down the weapons near the entrance before heading to her mentor’s side.

Sirus grumbled softly, moving to the shadiest corner of the tent and plonking himself down to brood for a bit, feeling annoyed and maybe a little skittish after all the drama. (Honestly I'm getting angry black cat vibes rn XD)

(lol 😆)

Gwen nervously put her hands on Corbin, holding him down as the healer examined the deep cut.

“It’ll be ok.” Corbin assured her, though he was obviously just as nervous. “I-OW!”

“Oh, hush.” the healer scolded. “It’s just the numbing poultice. I’ll have to clean the blood a little before I remove the blade.”

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus himself seemed to have less of a reaction to the other's pain, instead getting up and heading back to the door of the tent. He knew he should rest a bit more, but he didn't want the healer trying to examine him. It'd bring too many questions. That and he needed to investigate the bodies.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“Hey! You sit back down, wolf!” the healer barked, not looking away from cleaning Corbin’s injury. “I’ll deal with you next.”

Gwen turned to look at Sirus, wondering where he was trying to go when Corbin let out a sudden cry as the healer quickly removed the blade.

“I thought you were going to wait for that paste to numb it.” Corbin accused.

“If I wait too much longer, you’d bleed out.” the healer sniped back.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus growled softly when the healer yelled at him, "I'm perfectly fine thanks." he said grumpily, not wanting to admit to the light burns he'd sustained in the fight with Drake. "I'll be back later to check on them." he rolled his eyes, heading for the exit once more.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

“I can smell the burnt hair on you. I said sit down. You are not fine until I finish checking you over.” the healer argued, glaring at Sius for a moment before turning back to Corbin.

“I’m sorry, healer. He’s my guest.” Gwen apologized softly. “I didn't think we…”

The healer shook their head. “Not the first time I’ve had a difficult patient.”

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Gwen sighed a little, knowing she would have to explain the healer to Sirus… And explain the attack to Rhes and the chief. She was definitely not looking forward to that.

The healer continued cleaning Corbin’s wound, occasionally glaring at him and Gwen but for the most part was silent.

Corbin was finally relaxing due to the medication and breathing much easier.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus knew full well what a healer was, though he wasn't used to them actually helping all that much, and usually nursed his own wounds. But nonetheless, he didn't see any decent ways out, so he would have to just comply with whatever the healer wanted, and hoped that he wouldn't get too many questions if… No. There were burns on his side too… And that made it a when; the healer had him take his shirt off to get a look at the damage.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

After a few quiet, tense minutes, the healer turned away from Corbin and faced Gwen. “He’ll be alright, child. He’ll need time to rest and most likely have a permanent scar but he’ll heal.”

“What about his arm? He said he couldn't move it.” Gwen asked, clearly worried.

“We’ll deal with that when he wakes up. In the meantime, I have another patient.” the healer reminded her, looking now at Sirus. “Now, wolf, either take off your shirt or shift if you have the energy. I know how to treat you in both forms.”

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus grumbled a little, but did as told and shifted, somewhat relieved he would have his fur rather than bare skin. Grumpily he padded out of the shaded corner where the healer could get at him, revealing singed fur across his sde and his ear.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Gwen bit her lip, a little nervous for her friend. She didn't really like how the healer was just calling him “wolf” but knew that was most likely because Siris was still a stranger to the tribe. Besides, the healer was one of the very few people who still called her Gwendolyn instead of Gwen like she preferred nowadays.

The healer gave a simple nod at his cooperation before, with surprising gentleness, starting to run their hands against him to check for any other injuries that his fur might be hiding while avoiding touching the fresh burns.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus held still with a look of annoyance as he felt the man's fingers run over old scars and marks from previous injuries. he also didn't move too much when the man came across a few tender spots where he'd been struck, or any of the cuts he'd sustained in the skirmish.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

The healer raised a brow at the feeling of the old scars, especially those that felt like bite and claw marks. “I’m surprised you made it so long in your life. When is the last time you saw a healer besides myself?” they asked, a touch snappy before getting an ointment for the burns.
