(Magic isn't that hard to master, for now think basic elements, and the basics of the last Airbender. (It's a good start to explaining the system I've created… sorta…)
.
Sirus shrugged, "That's understandable." he said softly. "Being invisible isn't always great.." But it's easier than trying to fight inevitabilities.

(Ok. That does help. I was thinking of a fire mage or something…)

Gwen looked up at him, an unhappy frown on her face. “Try being an invisible royal… It's an absolute nightmare.” she said. It’s worse when you're a woman… Just a bargaining chip. Your voice doesn't matter…

(Yeah, I use and aura/energy and element based system… base elements are Fire, Earth, Air, Water, Shadow, Dark, Light, Illusion, Reality, Chaos, Harmony, Sound, Ice, Mind, Soul/Spirit, and Star.
Different elements also have affinities for each other, (Ex, Fire has an affinity for light, and shadow has an affinity for dark) and different elements also clash more harshly, (Ex, Fire and ice, mind and illusion, dark and light) and others are more ambiguous (Ex, Reality, Spirit, Star, Air,) And the ambiguous ones generally end up being influenced by another element, (Ex, Air element combined with shadow,)
Also some elements also hold different aspects, Like earth, which can be broken up into 3-4 main ones, Nature (Plants and/or animals) Earth (The actual ground, and rocks in general) metals, and crystals/gemstones. (The last two are rarer and certain metals/crystals/gemstones affect different elements in different ways. (like blocking or strengthening powers))
ALSO keep in mind not all elements have affinities for other elements, sometimes you just have a pure fire element, though it's pretty uncommon for someone to NOT have some affinity for something else, and if not, thye can usually learn an affinity or pick one up later. (think something along the lines of training a mage in different arts, they specialize in one area, but can pick up tricks from other areas too.)
.
(So Sirus for example, is a powerful shadow element, with an affinity for dark and illusion elements, and a teensy bit of mind magic. And because he's wolf, he has a "wild" nature affinity too, which is a special type of aura energy that's more in tune with the innate or non sentient auras & energies around him.)
.
(Sorry that's so long, meant it to be a SHORT explanation… XD…. Also happy 2021!)
.
Sirus simply nodded acceptingly, not wanting to give away too much, even though he related more than he wanted to. Try being the invisible freak that's supposed to be a royal…

(Holy smoke… 🤯That is impressively detailed information and I am speechless. You spent a lot of time working that all out, didn't you?)

(Happy New Year to you too 🥳)

Gwen sighed, closing her eyes as she pushed back those old bitter feelings. “I’m sorry. I didn't mean to push my problems on you.” she said softly before she picked up the other buckets. She couldn't bring herself to meet his eyes, her ears burning for acting that way.

I've been dealing with this neverending plotline of craziness (now four generations of charas and multiple series of books with only a small fraction of it written and more plotholes than I wanna think about…. I've been creating and working with it for about 5 years now, though some of the base concepts and ideas for the charas came previously with wildly wacky stories I used to tell myself at night cause I could never sleep. I still do the storytelling thing too, just, on notebook, or with my current plot. (Which is why it hasn't ended yet.).
(If you want I'd be happy to talk worldbuilding in a DM? I love talking and discovering new ideas for my world, more than I like actually writing the story tbh)
.
.
"It's alright…" he said softly, moving in to grab the last bucket so she didn't have to. "One of the things a shadow does best is listen…" Which is better than being forced to talk at all….

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

(grandma B* is Sirus' mom btw)

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

(Sure! I would be happy to let you bounce ideas off me. A world-building DM sounds like fun.)

Gwen smiled gratefully at him when he picked up the third bucket. “Thank you… for listening.” she told him, though she also appreciated his help with her chore.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

(Yeeeee! Mostly I just want someone to compare and talk to about it… )
.
Sirus nodded, waiting for her to lead the way to the river, needing at least a direction to go in.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

(Happy to help where I can! I mean, I've been at it for awhile so… (Just remember I'm not an expert… XD)
.
Sirus followed after her quietly, seeming to relax considerably once they were away from the village.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

(lol… Given what you just showed me about your magic system, I believe it.)

Gwen would occasionally look over her shoulder as they walked, making sure that Sirus wasn't going to get lost or anything, so she noticed the change in demeanor. “You don't like dealing with people much, do you?”

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

(Ahaha ye)
.
Sirus blinked a bit, then shrugged, "Always been more of a loner," he said softly, Though not always by choice… it is what it is now..

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus picked up the pace when he heard the river ahead, setting the bucket down when they reached the riverbank and shifting almost on impulse, stretching before leaning down for a drink.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus let the bucket fill with water, then took it back to shore before completely submerging himself, letting the current wash out his fur.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus rolled his eyes, shaking his fur out in the stream, before coming back up onto the bank, moving away from Gwen before shaking himself off.

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Gwen chuckled a little, watching her companion. Honestly, she was still a little unsure how to act around him. She would certainly be herself but… When he was human, it was easy to treat and respond to him the same way she did with everyone else in the tribe. While he was a wolf, however, was a new experience though she tried to keep treating him the same. Back in the palace she had never really had an animal companion aside from her horse, who she imagined had returned without her and was being treated well as always.

@StarryWolfy flash_onCrazy Procrastinator

Sirus shook a coupled more times, his fur now somewhat damp instead of soaked, at which point he shifted back, still very wet and in a slightly better mood.
