Icares looks at the mortal as well, and he thinks for a while, weighing each pro and con. This is his way of thinking, his self-preservation mechanism. Eventually a soft smile spreads across his face. "What are the conditions?"
(I'm not going to roleplay tomorrow you two do your own thing I'm fasting)
(Ok! It wouldn't necessarily be fair if we continued on without you, so we can wait and continue this when you get back :) )
Roman sighs and puts the pencil to the paper. He kept doodling, occasionally walking over to help a customer. By the end of this doodle, it was not any better than the first. A savage wolf with bared cainines and bristling fur. He shudders, crumpling the small piece of paper and throwing it away.
(idc about fairness i don't want to hold you back lol)
(lol, we can just alternate, do a moment when Erebus is encountering with Roman if we finish this scene. Phantom and I have another RP, that'll prob just be the thing to do-?)
(Dude it's all good, we'll wait)
(Or what Rhys said, that works too)
(yes, that's what I mean. Anyways, I'm going to Asgar- I mean, a normal Earth place)
Erebus smirked, fully expecting that question. He waited for a moment, picking at the invisible and nonexistent dirt that was underneath his long, claw-like nails before bothering to respond.
"If you win, then I'll give you the contracts of every soul I have collected over my lifespan." He knew that this was a huge proposal, and it raised the stakes of even the original bet drastically, but Erebus wasn't fazed. Nothing was more thrilling than a good gamble, after all. He paused, needing a moment of dramatic suspense before continuing, his firey eyes not breaking eye contact with Icares.
"And if I win, I get to collect your soul. As dark as they may be, every demon has one. Even I, as surprising as that may be. You will cease to be your own being, and you will become nothing but a puppet controlled by my string."
He held out his hand, a glowing ring of dark magic forming around his wrist; a common occurrence to happen whenever two demons made a bet with each other. "So. Do we have a deal?"
(We are at an impasse, I see, lol)
(ahhhh heck yeah) Icares thinks deeply. "Time limits?"
Roman sighs, frustrated with the drawings. He taps his pencil against his chin, staring at the next blank paper, debating. He puts the pencil to the paper, starting to sketch again.
(love how he's just chilling as these two demons fighting over his soul a few table away)
(Just a normal day in LA lmao)
Erebus thought about that for a moment before replying, "By the next full blood moon. In human time, that would be two months." A challenging glint entered his eyes. "Can you handle that?"
(Neither of y’all can handle my ‘sweet’ Roman. XDDD)
"I know I can win this. But I also know you're a cheater, and I don't want to even risk losing my soul to you."
Erebus placed his non-circle covered hand to his chest, feigning offense. "My dear Icares, I'm hurt that you would think that I would cheat at a deal with a fellow demon. I can assure you, I will play this game fair and square." He extended his hand out further, his eyes glowing brighter as his smile widened more than was considered humanly possible. "I'll ask only once more: do we have a deal?"
(I was doing some stuff in my tech theatre class, sorry for responding so late)
"If I win, you give me all your soul contracts, and your soul"
Roaman’s just doing his thing stil-
Erebus scoffed, rolling his eyes. "You're not in a position to bargain for more, Icares. I have collected millions of souls over the span of my lifetime. Far more than you could have ever collected on your own. Take my deal as it is and maybe stand a chance against me, or if you don't, then I will continue to expand my collection and you can live with the knowledge that you were idiotic enough to turn down a deal that most other demons would kill for."
He leans back, smiling. "I don't fall for those tactics, Erebus." He shakes his head. "I'm not taking the bet unless you agree to my terms"
