Sterling shrugged. “I’ve been through a lot. This is tame compared to some of that.”

"Meh. But that's good for us because if any of the clues or challenges requires getting our hands dirty, I won't hesitate."

“I’m sure they wouldn’t do that,” Sterling said, shaking his head a bit. “Not that bad, anyway.”

"I'm sure that my area of expertise won't be necessary but doing something most people would hesitate on is going to be a definite."

“Well of course. I have no doubts about that,” Sterling agreed with a nod.

"This sounds like the beginning of a really good horror movie. Am I the only one who thinks that?"

Sterling grinned and winked at her. “Who says it isn’t?”

"Me because the cute ones always die first and I don't want you to die."

Sterling raised an eyebrow at her. “Hey, I know how to handle myself. I don’t plan on dying any time soon.”

"I certainly hope not." She smiled a little.

“So, therefore, this could be a horror movie because I’m not dying first,” Sterling said with a quick nod.

"Well you're also a protagonist so it's doubtful you'd be the first to die. The romance arc hasn't even started yet!"

Sterling blinked at her. “The what, now?”

"Oh come on. Don't act surprised. Whenever it's a male and female lead the directors always ship them together."

“Okay… So would that make you my love interest, then?” Sterling teased with a wink and his signature grin.

"I suppose it would, Romeo." She chuckled, rolling her eyes.

Sterling chuckled and glanced up, noticing they were nearing the lake. “Huh. This was not where I meant to lead us…”

"The directors forced you over here, it truly is the start of the romance arc." She laughed.

“Sure, sure,” Sterling chuckled, looking around and finding a log that would fit both of them on it. He made his way over and sat down, gesturing for Cassandra to join him.

She sat next to him, brushing her hair out of her eyes. "It really is a pretty lake."

“That it is,” Sterling agreed, glancing over at her. “I bet it’s even prettier at sunset.”

She glanced over at him. "Everything's prettier at sunset, Sterling."

“Hey, I was just saying,” Sterling chuckled, shaking his head a bit.

"I know ya weirdo I was just pointing it out." She punched his shoulder playfully.

“Hey, rude!” Sterling exclaimed with a laugh, playfully shoving her with his shoulder.
