"I'm sure you do know how. It's just a matter of remembering."
"I'm sure you do know how. It's just a matter of remembering."
"The only jokes I make are joking death threats and even then, those aren't usually jokes."
“I’m sure you could make a knock-knock joke. Those aren’t hard,” Sterling said with a shrug.
"Yeah um…no." She chuckled.
“All right… You sure you don’t want to try?” Sterling asked, giving her his half-grin.
"I literally can't think of anything but puns that'll make you hate me."
Sterling scoffed and nudged her playfully. “I’m sure I won’t hate you.”
"Well, all the people I've met hate puns like…why? What'd a pun ever do to you? Why must you PUNish them so?" She groaned and threw her head in her hands. "That was painful I'm sorry."
Sterling chuckled. “No, that was actually pretty good! Come on, try another.”
"Um…" She thought for a second. "I was driving here today and I noticed the guy in the car behind me looked pretty TIREd."
Sterling snickered. “Okay, okay. That one was pretty bad.”
"Ugh, I'm not good at this." She dropped her head into her hands with a sigh.
“No, no. Keep trying. I’m sure it’ll be good next time,” Sterling assured her with a grin.
"Okay um…" She scoured her thoughts for something. "The past, the present, and the future all walk into a bar. I wasn't there but I heard it was tense!"
Sterling laughed and shook his head. “All right, I think you’re good. Let’s go find something to do, yeah?”
"Well, we should probably find our cabin. Cause sleep is better than people."
“I’d argue, but you’re actually right,” Sterling chuckled. “I’m pretty sure they split the girls and the guys up, so we’ll probably be in different cabins.”
"Are you kidding?? Ughhhh." She groaned. "Most of the girls here hate me. That's gonna be fun."
“How do you know they hate you? Have you met them already?” Sterling asked, starting to walk toward the cabins.
"Yep. A couple of weeks after orientation the girls all got together to introduce themselves. And most of them hate me." She shrugged, walking by his side.
“Oh. Yeah, the guys didn’t do that. Obviously,” Sterling chuckled. “And I’m sure they don’t all hate you…”
"You doubt how far girls will go to make sure one of their own is as hated as can be."
“Hm. Well, I’m sure there’s at least one person who won’t hate you… There has to be at least one…”
She raised an eyebrow at him. "Really?"
“Hey, I’m trying to be optimistic. You’re the one who said they all hate you,” Sterling said with a shrug.
