Alison frowned and glanced outside thoughtfully. "I'm⦠not actually sure⦠Christmas?"
M looked down at the table again. βSheβll want to come over soon. I just know it.β
Alison hummed her agreement, nodding slowly as she looked back at M. She knew what her mother would ask the next time she saw them: How do you two still not have any children?
Alison sighed and shook her head, clearing it of thoughts of her mother. "She will, yes. Maybe we should invite her and my father over for dinner some time next week? Maybe Saturday?"
M sighed softly at her thoughts. She was right. Her mother would demand why they hadnβt had children yet. Heβd say that he was never home for one and Alison would say that they were a tad too old. While she really meant he was too old.
βI suppose we could,β He answered, only half-listening to what she was saying.
"All right. I'll talk to her about it, then," Alison said softly, her gaze returning to his face and flicking over his features. "You know she just wants grandkids, right? She doesn't mean that it's a bad thing that we don't have kidsβ¦"
M returned his gaze back to hers, then flitted it away again. βI know. Sheβs just veryβ¦ avid about it.β He shifted against his legs with a faint sigh.
"I know⦠And I've tried to ask her to stop asking about it," Alison sighed, glancing down at the table. "I'm sorry she keeps asking."
M glanced up at her once more. βThatβs okay. Sheβll understand eventually.β Hopefullyβ¦
Alison nodded slowly, glancing up to meet his eyes. She gave him a small smile and gently squeezed his hand. "I'm sure she will. For now, we'll just have to do our best to endure her questions."
(So do you wanna skip to that Saturday, Autumn? A note to everyone who would he before that, the characters who work for M would be given another day off because of it. Once yβall get there, Iβll remind you.)
(Hm. If you want. I was kind of looking forward to their movie night, though. But I'm fine with doing that, too.)
(Oh ya we can do that, then to Saturday, if thatβs good?)
(Yup! That sounds good.)
(Neato okay.)
(blinks Did you want me to start?)
(._.
Yes please)
(Lol. Okay.)
Alison grabbed the bowl of popcorn from the counter and made her way toward the bedroom. She smiled at M as she climbed into the bed next to him, scooting under the sheets and snuggling close to him. "What movie should we watch?"
M had gotten dressed into something comfier, hunted down their remote and sat down under the bed, sighing softly. He glanced up when she entered, smiling a little.
βMovie? Iβm not sure.β
(She asked him a question⦠Lol.)
(Fixed it. And ya, Lotus, that sounds good.)
M had gotten dressed into something comfier, hunted down their remote and sat down under the bed, sighing softly. He glanced up when she entered, smiling a little.
βMovie? Iβm not sure.β
Alison hummed. "Maybe we can find something good to watch on the TV. Comedy? Action? Drama? Romance?" she wondered. "Which would you prefer?"
M shrugged. He never really watched TV. βWhat do you want to watch?β
"Hm⦠Maybe some comedy? There was a really funny movie I saw a while ago. I wonder if we could rent it or something," Alison mused.
M nodded again and pulled up the rental screen. βWhat was it called?β
