Miles… Aiden mouthed silently, pursing his lips. The name didn't seem to fit the man. He hurridly cashed the money in and started to make the order, painfully aware of the manager's eyes watching his every move. Soon enough, he was finished, since black coffee's are usually easier to make. Leaning slightly over the counter, he raised his voice. "Black coffee for Miles?"
Conner looked up, standing and grabbing it. He felt bad for how he treated the man earlier, so he smiled as he accepted the drink, "Thank yiu" he peered at the nametag, "Aiden" he smiled again before returning to his table, taking a huge swig of the coffee before continuing his typing
Smiling slightly at 'Miles,' he quickly headed out to the back of the shop, ignoring his manager's glare. "I'm going on break!" he called, picking himself up a quick water and premade sandwich. Surveying the lounge, Aiden saw that most of the seats were taken, except the one across Miles. He grinned to himself as he headed over. This is gonna be fun.
Conner's fingers flew across the keyboard as ideas poured from his mind and onto the page. His brow was furrowed and his tongue stuck out slightly as he typed
Aiden plopped down on the seat. Miles didn't seem to notice him, but the expression on his face sure was cute. Who knew attractive guys actually showed up here? It had been a while since Aiden had his eye on anyone, but Miles here seemed like the next candidate. Not wanting to interrupt him working, he unwrapped his sandwich and took a bite, observing the room.
The faint sound of crinkling packaging reached Conner's ears and he paused, his fingers hovering centimetres over the keyboard. He looked up slowly, an eyebrow raising as he saw Aiden sitting down casually. A hand came up and slowly pulled the lid of his laptop lower to reveal his face, "Cab I help you?" He asked quietly, annoyed, but in a better mood than earlier
Aiden saw an opportunity, and he took. Nevermind that he could tell the guy was a bit annoyed; he was going to shoot his shot. "Well, for one, you can give me your number?" he winked, and to finish it off, an eye-dazzling smile. I have to admit, that's the smoothest sentence I've ever spoken.
Conner blinked, a bit shocked. A chuckle escaped his lips and, before he knew what was happening, he pulled out his phone, "Well, since you asked so nicely" he said, sliding his phone over with his contact open, clearly displaying his name as "Conner". Conner blinked, did he really just give his number to a stranger? Gods, that was the boldest thing he's done since secondary school!
Aiden, to be honest, was a bit shocked at the actions, but happy nonetheless. He pulled out his phone and added the contact before taking the liberty of adding himself to Conner's phone. "Conner, eh? Sure this is your real name?" he teased, a smile gracing his lips.
Conner put his phone away, "Conner is my real name" he confirmed, "Miles is my penname. Miles S. Soar" he explained, closing his laptop fully so he could focus on the, admittedly, attractive man in front of him, "I'm an author"
Aiden tapped a finger on his chin, thinking. "Now, where I have I heard that name before?" He racked his brain for a few seconds before coming to a conclusion. "Hey, would you happen to be the guy that wrote 'Our Time Together?'" Aiden had read it a month or two ago, and it was admittedly now one of his favorite books. The guy knew how to write.
Conner scratched the back of his head, "Yeah, that's me" he admitted shyly. Not a lot of people knew of his book, and he still wasn't used to people recognizing his name
Aiden picked up his sandwich and took a bite, munching slowly. "Good read. Loved the plot," he said, swallowing his bite. He picked up on Connor's shyness and internally smirked. How cute.
Conner smiled, a light dusting of pink appearing on his cheeks, "Thanks…" he mumbled, scratching the back of his head again, a habit for when he was nervous. He was especially new to people pleased with his books, people usually said his details were too vague or plot to winding, but what he hadn't told anyone was that it was based on the memories he had with his own father, all the way up to his death.
Conner's green eyes flicked up to meet Aiden's. He smiled softly, he liked being around this man, "When are you off?" He asked, "Like officially"
BTW, are you okay with PM friskyness?//
((Yeah))
Aiden peered up at the clock, watching the hands tick by. "Mm, in about an hour. Why? Planning something?" He smirked, cocking his head teasingly. He was way past his break, but he was over this job anyways. If getting a date with a cute guy meant risking his job, then he'd take the risk, 100%.
Conner smiled, "That's for you to decide" he said, standing and sliding his laptop into his bag, "You're the one with my number, after all" he smiled, "Now don't get yourself fired. I prefer men with steady employment" he winked, then walked out. Scratch giving Aiden his number, that whole interaction was the boldest thing he's ever done
Aiden's eyes followed him the whole time, jaw slacked. He could feel the blush burning on his cheeks, and it took him an embarrassingly amount of restraint to not text Connor that minute. By god, that's the hottest thing I've ever seen, he thought to himself. Before you knew it, Aiden finished his sandwich and drink and was back on the job, a new determination burning behind his eyes. If he wasn't going to keep the job because he wanted it, then he would to get a hot date.
~Time skip~
Conner was sitting on his couch, flicking through the television channels without really paying attention. Any moment now Aiden would get off work and he would see whether the barista was a player or not
Aiden had just gotten off work, and wasted no time to text Connor, sitting in his running car in the parking lot. Maybe it would be embarrassing for other people, but he didn't care. Aiden typed out the message and sent it once he deemed it worthy. Hopefully, it would score him a date tonight.
Hey, it's Aiden. Are you free tonight at 6?
Conner felt his phone buzz and almost leapt for it, swiping it open and grinning when he saw the text, Yeah, I'm free. What do you have in mind? he bit his lip, grinning. The man stood and walked to his room, looking at his wide array of clothes with a frown, trying to decide what to wear
Aiden smirked as he saw how fast Connor replied. He decided he could let his car run for a few more minutes. Biting his lip, he typed out a response.
Dinner, and then drinks?
Conner felt a buzz and pulled out the phone, smiling, Sounds good! Where shall I meet you? he sifted through his clothes until he finally pulled out a tight White button up and black pants to match. He checked his watch, about an hour until the date. He smiled. Date. It sounded amazing in his mind. Conner changed into the outfit, then walked to the bathroom and began to gel his hair, becoming slightly nervous as he looked at himself in the mirror. After a moment of hesitation, he put on a small bit of concealer over some acne and a bit of mascara and eye liner, allowing his green gaze to become that much more piercing and bright
Aiden licked his lips as he saw Connor's response, He could not wait to see Connor all dressed up.
How about Marie's Restuarant?
Marie's was sort of an upscale restaurant, which had good food and friendly staff. Aiden smiled to himself as he pulled out of the parking lot and made his way home. He had a date to get ready for.
~time skip because I can't wait to see how freaking adorable they are together~
Conner walked up to the restaurant, not having a car. He scratched the back of his head nervously before walking in, pulling out his phone I'm here he messaged Aiden, folding his arms nervously over his chest
Aiden looked into his car mirror and fixed his tie once more before checking his message from Connor. He smiled softly before responding I'm on my way up. Locking his car door, Aiden pushed through the double doors, instantly looking for Connor.
