"Is there another song you want played?" Nemo blushed.
"Is there another song you want played?" Nemo blushed.
"Yeah there-" He was cut off by his phone ringing. He sighed, then checked it before his eyes widened and he tried to not show too much panic. He swallowed and put his phone in his pocket, letting it ring out.
"Shouldn't you…shouldn't you get that?" Nemo asked. "People normally only call if it's important."
He shook his head maybe a little two quickly, “No. It’s no one important.”
"You sure? It seems important."
"I'm sure. I'll reply to it later."
Nemo shrugged, then started to play a small tune.
"Can you play Let Go by Beau Young Prince?" He asked.
Nemo blushed slightly. "I didn't like that song so I never learned it. I really only liked about three of the songs from the movie."
Zane raised an eyebrow, slightly amused, "What songs do you know?"
"Three that aren't really that good on the piano," Nemo said sheepishly.
"Hm… but maybe they're good on the guitar." He grinned then went to pick up the instrument.
"They're okay on instruments, but they sound better when done professionally," Nemo pushed.
Zane shrugged a shoulder, beginning a tune on the guitar anyway, "So? any song sounds better when done professionally."
"Not necessarily," Nemo said. "There's two songs coming to mind, but neither of them are from the movie."
"What are they? I might be able to play them." Zane looked up at him from where he was now sat on the floor.
Nemo blushed. "Uh….I don't think you'd know them. And they're actually better on the piano."
Zane raised an eyebrow, "Okay…" He said slowly.
Nemo started to play a tune on the piano. The tune was recognisable for those who were fans of the musical.
The song didn't register anything in Zane's head and that caused him to frown. He listened to the notes, trying to see if he could play them himself.
"I saved every letter you wrote me
From the moment I read them
I knew you were mine
You said you were mine
I thought you were mine" Nemo sang his favourite song from his favourite musical. It might have been a song about heartbreak and loss, but it was so well written and executed that he couldn't help but love it.
"Do you know what Angelica said
When we saw your first letter arrive?
She said"
The song rung a bell, a faint one at that but it still did. He couldn't place the lyrics yet, but he placed the notes and played along.
"“Be careful with that one, love
He will do what it takes to survive.”
You and your words flooded my senses
Your sentences left me defenseless
You built me palaces out of paragraphs
You built cathedrals"
He hummed along quietly, focusing on the notes, mainly.
"I’m re-reading the letters you wrote me
I’m searching and scanning for answers
In every line
For some kind of sign
And when you were mine
The world seemed to
Burn
Burn"
