(It’s alright!)
She was just finishing rinsing out her hair when he came in, making her shriek. The door was glass and completely see-through, her body on full display like a barbie doll in a plastic case. She didn’t even think to cover herself in time. How long had he been standing there?
“How much did you see?” She whined, covering her face in embarrassment as she yelled loud enough for him to hear through the door
Cole blushed and took a moment to erase his memory of the embarrassing scene. He blushed and slid down the door, groaning. “I didn’t mean to I promise! I didn’t see much! It was only a glance!” He promised, his amber eyes closing.
He brought his hand up to his face, feeling the heat that radiated from his skin. “I-I didn’t scare you too much did I?”
She turned off the shower, her face glowing pink in embarrassment. She stepped out of the glass cage and wrapped a towel around her bare body, brushing her hand through her now deep red hair from the water. She looked down, opening the door to the washroom, not knowing he was leaning on it
Cole fell backwards, closing his eyes and covering them with his hand. “I’m not looking I promise!” He said from his position on the floor. He nervously tugged up on his button-up shirt, risking dropping one hand down to do so.
“Please don’t kill me it was an accident I swear! I’m not that type of man!” He added, wondering if this was the part where he got thrown out.
She instantly turned red, the towel slipping from her grip for a second before she caught it. stepping backwards into the washroom and tripping on the corner of the bathmat. She sighed, placing a hand to her cheek to feel her face burning up. "Stand up" she mumbled, more embarassed than she'd ever been in her life.
(Sorry it took me so long, I was crying due to the irreparable damage stranger things caused my tear ducts.)
He gasped softly and did as he was told, his eyes still squeezed shut. His face was beet red. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to barge in.” He laughed softly and rubbed the back of his neck, turning his back to her and opening his eyes. “I promise I won’t look…. so uhm… how are you?”
"I'm fine" she replied, sighing softly as she stood up, retaining her balance. "You?" she asked, tapping him on the shoulder as a signal for him that he could turn around even though she hadn't a clue how much of her top half was really showing.
He slowly turned away, still blushing. His shy eyes met hers. “I’m alright… still a little shaken butnyou know, your grandmother has offered a lot. Is there something I can do to help?” He asked softly. “I don’t want to be a burden on your family.”
She gulped, looking into his eyes. He was a lot more attractive that she first thought, even if she had only seen glimpses of him before. “U-uh,” she mumbled, her face turning firetruck red. “Take a shower, you deserve it…” she muttered, shifting in her standing position
He ducked his head and laughed, rubbing at the back of his neck. “Thanks, I’ll get in in just a bit.” He rocked on his heels and smiled softly. “You know, I think this is the first time we’ve really spoken to each other.”
“I think so” she replied, brushing her hair out of her face again. “You’re a good worker. Strong” she muttered, biting her lip softly in nervousness
He chuckled lightly and took one look at his lanky frame. The only reason he was so strong was because of the dragon blood coursing through his veins. “Yeah… I’m just trying to help around. If you need more things moved I’d be glad to come by and help.”
An awkward silence fell between them, Cole shifted nervously, looking down at his feet and tugging up on his collar. “So, I’m Cole, just in case you didn’t catch my name.”
(Sorry it took me so long, I was crying due to the irreparable damage stranger things caused my tear ducts.)
(Yo I didn’t see this sorry. I feel that though. I had to stop watching because it made me sad XD I only made it halfway through the first season)
“I’m Erica.” She replied, not knowing if it were weird to extend a hand or not. She kept it safe and left her hands holding up her towel.
“I should probably get to my room and get dressed” she muttered, her eyes fluttering open and closed as she got herself out of a short daze
“Yes! Um,.. right! You should go and do that!” He flustered easily. He hadn’t ever felt with such a pretty human before. He didn’t know what to do around her. So he just stepped aside to let her leave, running his hands through his hair.
She stepped into her bedroom, her face calming down to a light pink as she closed the door behind her, sinking to the floor with a sigh of relief. She let her towel fall to the floor as she got up, placing on white undergarments and an almost see-through, white blouse with comfy, light blue coloured jeggings
She slipped out of her room, her hair brushed and her grandmother’s birthstone ring on her finger which her grandmother gifted to her when she had come to live with her.
A sight of beauty, her grandmother called her, even if she didn’t believe it
It took Cole only a few minutes to shower and a little longer to get dressed. He kept losing scales and he did not need any of the two women in this house to find them. That would raise some suspicion on his part. With a soft sigh, he pulled on a clean red button-up and his favorite pair of jeans. They were his favorite mostly because they weren’t ripped, burned, or blood-stained.
Cole made his way into the living room, his hair messy and just barely dried enough to be fluffy once again.
Erica made her way in the open kitchen/living room, getting a glass cup from the cupboard and filling it with lemonade she’d made earlier this morning. The bits of afternoon sun trickled through the sun-catcher in the kitchen window, making blue, green, yellow and orange fleck of sun appear on her skin, dancing around as she moved. She wasn’t aware of the fact that Cole was sitting right in the living room
He peaked into the kitchen upon hearing someone moving about. He blushed a light pink at the sight of her so pretty in the afternoon light. ’So now you’re stalking her?’ Shihiro teased, the older dragon rumbling in amusement. Cole’s face went bitter at that. “No, I’m just admiring.” He whispered back, grumbling in annoyance.
He stepped into the kitchen and smiled politely. “Hello Erica.”
She turned around, the lights playing on her skin and in her eyes as she looked at him. “Hey Cole” she replied, leaning back on the kitchen counter. Gods he was handsome, especially in this light.
He had to blink the awe from his eyes. She was absolutely gorgeous. He felt almost inadequate with his messy auburn hair and the dark circles under his golden eyes. He leaned against the counter space next to her.
“What are the plans for today?” Cole felt his blood run cold at the light dancing in her eyes. Why was she so pretty?!
“Probably just hanging around the house, reading… writing… and then ballet in the evening” she replied, running her finger through her hair once again.
“How about you?” She asked, trying not to stutter over her words
He glanced away for a moment. “I might go for a walk. I don’t have much to do.” Cole wanted desperately to fly again. It had been ages since he had last opened his wings and he missed it. Maybe today he could find a safe spot to do so.
“Is your grandmother around?”
