"No no, this isn't me answering for you."
"No no, this isn't me answering for you."
"I feel sick."
"Sick how? In the stomach?"
"In my heart." Each word she said was heavy and it slammed against the floor.
"I'm sorry, hermoso, but a broken heart can only be fixed with time, talking and love," He sighed a little, "I know you might not want to talk, but I'm here to listen."
She stopped talking and looked away.
"Querido señor, esto va a ser más difícil de lo que pensé," He muttered, "Come on, Liena. I'm here to help."
She said nothing, but her eyes were glossy.
He sighed, "Do you want any help?"
She spoke through gritted teeth. "My family was murdered. I watched them all die and there was nothing I could do. You want to help? Bring my family back."
Tyler narrowed his eyes at her, “Sadly I’m not a miracle worker.”
"Then you can't help me."
“I can try and make you happy, at least a little. You can’t spend all your life in the dark.”
She looked away disbelievingly. "And how are you going to make me happy?"
He grinned, “You’ll find out in time hermoso.”
She pressed her lips together and looked back at him with a glare. "What do you know about me?"
“I know you’re introverted, I know what happened to your family and you hate talking and think that we think you’re a hopeless case.” He shrugged.
"What's my favorite color?" She stared at him, waiting for his response.
Tyler shrugged, "I dunno. Black? Pink? Or both?"
"It's blue. Blue like my dead mother's eyes. You don't know the first thing about me."
"Then let me learn. Teach me about yourself."
"No," she replied stubbornly.
"Why not?" Tyler raised an eyebrow.
Liena said nothing. She played with the ring on her right ring finger.
Tyler sighed, then muttered something in Spanish before he pulled out a slip of paper, and handed it to her, "My number. In case you change your mind."
