"And you're human?" James laughed. "Gods above, the humans love werewolves, though I can't say their infatuation has ever kept them from fearing any one they've ever encountered."
"And you're human?" James laughed. "Gods above, the humans love werewolves, though I can't say their infatuation has ever kept them from fearing any one they've ever encountered."
"Half human" stated Arthur flatly. "And half wolf. Which is why I was asking."
"Does that not qualify you as a werewolf yourself?" James asked, cocking a brow as he ran a hand through his hair
"I guess" said Arthur with a shrug, never having thought about it that way. "But back home I'm not considered one…"
"Well, you turn into a wolf, do you not?" James asked, still confused by this kid. He was obviously without a pack, and traveling alone like that was dangerous
Arthur shifted spontaneously, "Obviously" he said, huffing a little.
"Then why not refer to yourself as such?" James asked. Deciding the stranger wasn't a threat, he made himself comfortable on a tree stump
"It's never been thought of that way" said Arthur shifting back silently.
(That and the writer has another version of halfblood that is much more closely defined by the term werewolf.)
(ah ok)
James just nodded, lips pursed momentarily in thought. "Well, would you like something to eat? Traveling is difficult without sustenance," he eventually offered
"I'll hunt something down after I get off your territory" said Arthur with a shrug, ignoring a sudden growl from his stomach.
James just raised a brow at the growl of the other's stomach. "No, that won't do. Come, we have fresh kill from this morning, and it needs to be eaten," he said before shifting again
Arthur rolled his eyes, but quickly fell into step behind the other, not bothering to shift again as they walked.
Arthur’s pace not being quick enough for his tastes, he decided to suddenly grab him in his teeth and fling him onto his back, picking up the pace
Arthur yelped in surprise, gripping the other tightly round the neck for a moment before relaxing into his rhythm. "What was that for?!" he asked, still slightly in shock.
(Pokey… I'm poking everything rn so don't mind me…)
(oof srry)
"You walk too slowly," James answered simply, mentally rolling his eyes as he began to bound off deeper into the woods, hopping across rocks and fallen trees
Arthur squeaked a little as he suddenly upped his pace, "You could've told me to pick it up" he said, slightly annoyed.
"Again, not fast enough," James said, continuing to run quicker and quicker until slowing to a stop at a clearing. There were various supplies strewn about, and a few people were sitting on the ground, others napping. Those that were awake looked up when they saw James walk in, eyes wide and curious
Arthur quickly slipped off of him, extremely uncomfortable with the extra eyes on him. "You still didn't have to do that.."
James shifted again, rolling his eyes. "Don't be ungrateful," he said. One of the people sitting on the ground got to his feet, squinting at Arthur. He was older, in his mid to late 20's, scruffy and tanned and generously adorned with scars.
"Who's this?" he asked, regarding Arthur skeptically, seeming suspicious of him
Arthur stared, unsure of how to react to the other's sudden bluntness. Starting when he heard the new voice he turned to watch them both, figuring he should keep his mouth shut. Well… first thing learned….. don't cross a werewolf… second…. that guy…. is most likely the Alpha…
"Watch your tone, Marcus," James said cooly, though there was a somewhat dangerous glint in his eye as he spoke. The man, Marcus, simply huffed before looking to Arthur.
"What's your name, kid?" he asked, tone changed to something more friendly
"Arthur." he replied, still somewhat wary. Glancing around the clearing he saw supplies for travel, first aid, along with more werewolves, at least that's what he assumed they were.
(Poke…. I'm bored outta my skull here….. Not that it's your fault…)
(Imma be mostly on for the next 2-3 hrs…)
