MARINA: do you think Romeo should have a chance to be with Juliet?

MERCUTIO: I think that if they both know the risks and both actually like each other, then yes. I don’t really understand love, but if Romeo can find it, I’ll be happy for him in the end.

MARINA: that makes sense. I'm just worried for juliet (as usual). she'd be in deep shit for even talking to a Montague on relatively friendly terms. i don't think she likes Romeo, tho. maybe.

MERCUTIO: I guess we have to trust them to handle themselves. I’m just trying to survive and praying my family doesn’t force me to marry off.

My gut twisted painfully at the mention of a marriage as memories of a stricken Juliet describing Paris rose to mind.

MARINA: yeah. same here. I don't know what i'd do if my parents did that to me.

MERCUTIO: I think I’m more afraid of the having kids part than anything else…

MARINA: that would be absolutely terrifying. especially if the guy was older. which he probably would be. at least, most of the capulet girls that were married off had to get with older guys…. from abusive mafia families… some of which were abusive themselves..

MARINA: we were at each other's throats an hour ago… it's surprising how much has changed. but thank you
