Looking up at him, she let her joking drop. "How bad could it have been?" Now asking with more seriousness to her tone. Joanna really doubted it could be so bad, but she wasn't going to question him anymore about it. That specific area at least. She really wanted to know more about his current situation, but knew she couldn't push it too far. Especially with how dangerous he could be. Having witnessed it first hand, the memories coming back from the other night, she hesitantly took a step away from him.
Jackson was now looking up. "Oh-ho. Bad. He's not normal…Tried to stab me. The guy tried to kill me several times. He actually was in a mental home." Jackson looked back at Joanna. "So ya. Pretty Bad. I was just lucky I was at work when he showed up. Or he would have tried to kill me already."
"Can't you call some kind of law enforcement? Get the guy arrested?" Joanna asked softly, tossing her cup away when the passed a trashcan. "I mean, you've got to have some kind of evidence, right? Voicemail, pictures, anything really. I'm sure it would be enough to at least look into the situation. Do you have any of that?"
"I've tried, but it's not so simple Joanna. He has a group. He has the money to bail. He's been sent to jail plenty of times but he always finds a way out." Jackson coughed. Suddenly, from the side of his eye, he spotted Viper. "Um, Joanna, I think it's time to go." He said in a tense voice.
Joanna slowed to a stop, looking up at him with a curious look. "What's wrong? Is everything alright?" She asked softly, glancing around hesitantly before focusing her gaze on him. She clearly didn't pay much attention to the urgency in his voice.
Jackson started to whisper. "Viper's here. We gotta move. I don't want you getting hurt… At least not because of me." Jackson said, getting up and waiting for Joanna to move.
(Short reply because Im juiced out.)
(It's all good, don't worry about it. I totally understand.)
Joanna felt her heart freeze in her chest, her brain numbly responding. Getting up, she mindlessly took his hand and started walking in any direction but towards the other. She was muttering things under her breath, occasionally glancing back at him. "Any ideas where we can go?" Joanna asked in a whisper.
(I gtg for the night. Cya!)
(Ill be on like 1-2 PM tomorrow due to school.)
(Ahh, I won’t be- oof. Tuesdays and Thursdays are me weird days :P)
Jackson peered at Viper. "Well…We can try running and going to your place or my place. Depending on which one is closer." Jackson started to pick up more speed. "But we really gotta run fast… Or we'll be badly hurt." He shook his head.
Joanna nodded a little, picking up her own pace. “Mine’s pretty far… is your close by?” She asked softly, occasionally glancing over to the side. Her heart was pounding in her chest as they quickly walked down the sidewalk to who knows where.
"Mine…Is also pretty far. We gotta work out something…" Jackson looked at Viper. "How about… We split up? You go right I go left. We'll meet a few blocks down. I'll try to lose Viper while you get to safety." Jackson Smirked. "If anything It'll be nice to have a nice…' Talk' with Viper…"
"You're going to get hurt, though," Joanna mumbled, letting out a slight huff. "But fine. If you think it's the best solution. When we get to the next street, we'll split up." She mumbled as she glanced up at him. She wasn't smiling but didn't seem upset at all. If anything she seemed deeply concentrated.
