Kamila clicked her tongue at the entrance of the yelling person. Her icy blue eyes caught onto Leo, narrowing slightly to form a glare. Her mouth twisted with displeasure and she returned her gaze to a dim wall. It seemed almost uncanny to her how someone could be so.. smiley in a situation like that. It almost sickened her, to be frank.
In response to the person's question, she merely gave a small wave with her index and middle fingers. She proceeded to look around at the group… quite diverse, but what was to be expected? After all, being blunt, it was a room full of mutants. She looked around, before her eyes caught back on Leo. She spoke, her words flat and cold. Her blue eyes locked onto Leo's emerald ones.
"I don't like cookies. So I'll pass on that. And I'll pass on your little 'getting to know you' party too," the words came out slow and clear. As though she was reexplaining something that wasn't understood the first time.
She sighed, "But if for whatever ungodly reason you need me," she pulled up a book and shook it slightly for show, "I'll be reading."
Cleo took a step torwards the others, "Hi my name is Cleo. Call me anything else and your dead meat. I can shapeshift into any animal and this 15 year old next to me thats filled with happiness is my brother"
Leo smiled at her, silently thanking her. He went over to Cyril, "Hey Cy-fi. You want some cookies?"
Cleo groaned at her brother. They barely knew each other and here he was making friends. "Leo! You can't give people random nicknames!"
Leo blushed and turned to Cyril, "You don't mind do you?"
Sliding his hands back into his pockets, he put all his weight onto one foot. Using his peripherals, Cyril scanned the area trying to remember each person while avoiding eye contact. Each one of them has a special ability, just like him; not to mention they're all trying to escape as well. Befriending the group does not sound too bad. In reality, he'll still have to be careful nevertheless. At least they have some things in common.
Cyril glanced up when hearing something close to his name. Cy-fi, never heard of that one before. His eyes met with the boy's, Leo. Cleo and him look relatively identical minus their facial expressions. He just stood still while shaking his head. "It's alright, no worries.", he softly assured,"And just keep your cookies, you might need a snack later."
Cleo was surprised at this boys softness and smiles at him softly without relizing it and quickly puts on her hard face back on again.
Leo grins up at Cyril, "It's your turn Cy-fi!"
Just then Amelia came through the door, nearly doubled over panting. When she finally straightened and looked at the rest of the escapees, she smiled and softly exclaimed, "Made it! So what'd I miss?"
… Jesus you own a hardcore rp…
… Jesus you own a hardcore rp…
thxs. i just created this being so fuckin (pardon my launage) bored)
Leo bounced over to Amelia and offered her a cookie, "Just Cleo introducing herself and being her angsty self-"
Cleo turned red, "I AM NOT ANGSTY!!"
Leo laughed and looked at her tattoos, "Wanna a cookie? Those are so cool! Imma call you Ink!"
Cleo was ready to die. "YOU CAN'T JUST GIVE RANDOM PEOPLE NICKNAMES!"
Leo just go a bigger smile, "You can introduce yourself next if you want!"
(Oi, no swearing. This is a fucking Christian Minecraft server.)
Out of nowhere he jumped. He sprung into action with his fists up in the direction of the voice. It was only just Amelia, if that's the correct name. Feeling his heart beat going from fast to slow, he exhaled deeply then turned to face the rest of the group. Cyril briefly made eye contact with each person muttering their name under his breath to himself.
Swiftly, he raised one hand giving a simple wave to everyone. "My name is Cyril Yi and I'm seventeen.", he shrugged,"That's it." He really did not have much to say; most people just look at him and they get the picture. Presumably the whole group probably knows everything too, they did plan this meet up after all. Still, Cyril feels a little unsure about it.
Cleo rolled her eyes at the intro and Leo (who was busy summoning flowers on the floor) looked at Cyril and smiled. Leo gave him a small daisy and made the rest of the flowers go away.
Cleo could feel the tenseness in the room and didn't care much the others would hate her for it, decided to speak her mind, "Ok I'm just here because my little nitwit of a brother here trusts all of you so easily. Now I know you guys must or god please be smarter than him. I have no reason to trust you. Give me one good reason too."
Kamila rolled her eyes, sick of the interactions already. She wanted to get up and leave, but she knew by now, she was already being searched for. If only she had never ran– if that were even an option. It all just seemed like a giant lose-lose situation. All that was left to be decided was who lost first. How long could they all keep fighting before both sides met their end. Threadbare with scrapes and scars. It was truly… odd for her to think about. But nevertheless, she was going to fight with these strangers. Because she wanted to be the loser who would win.
She snapped her gaze back to the semi-bickering people. Her blonde hairs whipped over her face, gently rocking back into position. As she spoke again, her eyelids rested halfway down her eyeballs. Covering the crystal irises like half-drawn curtains.
"My name is Kamila Ondrejová," she stated, "you can remember the name or not. It's your choice. But like it or not, we're working together here." Her eyes stabbed into Cleo's with the last sentence, just to give a little push of 'especially you.' She finished off her introduction while returning her gaze back to the book she read, No Longer Human.
"I hope that I can come to trust you all some, and that you all aren't terribly dreadful," she closed. As she said this, her eyes caught onto some of the words in the book:
'For someone like myself in whom the ability to trust others is so cracked and broken that I am wretchedly timid and am forever trying to read the expression on people's faces.'
She winced at this, and kept reading on.
Leo looked at her and stood up. For once taking a serious face, "Guys I know you might trust each other but we're a team and I have a feeling that we'll be friends." He regained his smile looking at Kamila and Cleo thinking those two are going to be best friends. "Nice to meet you Camera!", Leo gave Kamila a purple tulip.
Seeing the daisy gave him a bittersweet feeling inside. It look very delicate not mention simply mesmerizing. Taking it is too much, the flower could shrivel up into ash any moment. Cyril took it holding it in between his thumb and index finger. Gently twirling it, he examined the daisy before handing it back.
Trust is something that one should earn, not forcibly given or spontaneously created out of the blue. In his own right, Cyril does feel timid being with these people, but what other choice does he have? None, just like the rest of them. So they'll all have to accept the terms then go on with each other. Running away together is all that they can do.
"I know that we're all hesitant with this choice, but we're doing the right thing for ourselves. We all have to put some hope in each other, just a little, for now.", Cyril lightly grinned. He stared off to the side as he bit his bottom lip. "Having hope will help."
Kamila looked up from her book when hearing "Camera", her eyes catching onto Leo's once again. "You're talking to me? If so, you've got three options," she lifted her fingers one at a time as she listed them. "Kamila, Kami, or Mila. That's it." She looked around at and gestured to the other people in the room.
"You can call all these other people all the cutesy nicknames you want," she spat, "but it's not going to fly with me. Just letting you know that now." She returned to her book:
'I know that I am liked by other people, but I seem to be deficient in the faculty to love others.'
She winced once again, though that time closing the book shut tightly, the tulip sat within the pages. Kamila crossed her arms and looked away. Her eyes refused to meet anyone's. Not even if she wanted to– not that she did. Why would she? Why did her eyes burn..?
Cleo noticed this and symathyized. She had felt the same way before and still did feel like that today. So she called Leo over.
"Whats up Clover?", Leo said bounding over eating his third cookie. Cleo winced at the nickname he had given her when he was just a baby.
"1st, never call me that again and 2. Why don't you go make dinner?"
Leo nodded happily, "Ok!" He went to the kitchen.
Cleo looked over at Kamila and finally decided to head over there. She nudged Kamila, "Whatca reading Camera?'
(Sorry for the delayed reply, it kinda ended up lost in the rest of the responses, but it makes sense if you look at sleepin's post where Leo greeted Amelia, first. Also the temptation after Amelia introduces herself to include "and I never fuckin learned how to read" was unreal)
Amelia laughed a little at Leo's enthusiasm and gratefully accepted the cookie. "Thanks for the compliment! And the cookie. Maybe that's what I'll call you," she replied with a mischievous smile. "Anyways, my name's Amelia, I'm nineteen and I can do cool things like this—" at her words her tattoos began to swirl and contort, then they seemed to leap off her skin and into her hand in the shape of another colorful cookie, "with my ability."
Her smile fell a little bit at his sibling's somewhat harsh reminder. "Well, my reason is I was trapped all the same as you guys, and I have nothing to gain by abusing your trust," she answered honestly, the ink collapsing into a puddle like mess of colors before slowly reentering her skin through her palm. A moment later the original tattoo she had was back in place. "And to be honest, I'm just as apprehensive about this as the rest of us. But who else do we have to turn to? I imagine this is a good thing."
Leo took Amelia's hand and leads her to the kitchen. "Cleo says I'm supposed to make dinner. Do you wanna-" Leo stopped talking his green eyes suddenly turning grey. He pulls his hood up and hides under the table. It'd one of his anxiety attacks.
Amelia let herself be tugged into the kitchen, listening to Leo talk contentedly, only to freeze in her tracks when the boy suddenly lapsed into silence and let go of her hand. She turned in time to see him crawl under the table, and she'd had enough panic attacks in her lifetime to know one when she saw it. She quickly crouched down, being sure to give him enough room so he wouldn't feel trapped, and quietly began talking. "Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, Leo, you're alright. Can you hear me? What do you need? …Would you like me to get your sister for you?" she asked him, keeping her voice calm, but persistent on the off chance that it alone would be enough to capture his attention.
That caught his attetention. "No! She's doesn't know thses are happening still! She's already stressed enough and …..she hasn't been able to live a normal teenage life because she's taking care of me. She's never been loved by someone, had friends, or do normal teenage stuff". Leo sighed and one of his eyes was turning back to green. Leo had always been so posittive for other people when there had been no help that he had to hide his own problems. Sure it was fine if he cried at night while Cleo was gone hunting but it still hurt?
@tsunami
Cleo grabbed the book out of Kamila's hand and snorts, "Nerd."
"Okay, don't worry then—I won't tell her," Amelia promised, raising her hands placatingly. "Is there anything you need? Water, maybe? I'm always thirsty when I get those."
Kamila smiled and looked at Cleo, "I'm sorry, my name isn't Nerd. But if you look in a mirror I think you might just be able to find them," she retorted. Although she refused to admit it, Kamila was thoroughly annoyed with this 'Cleo' person.
She cocked her head to the side, blonde locks sweeping over the left side of her face as she did so. Some covered her left eye. "So what was the point of you coming here and taking my book?" she inquired, raising a not curious but rather prodding eyebrow. "Just to annoy me?"
"Sure!" Leo had gone back to normal and got vines doing the cooking (spegetthi).
Cleo couldn't help but admire the girl. She was the first person she knew that dared talk back to her. Cleo turned into a black fluffy cat and curled up on Kamila's lap. "I'll be your personal leg warmers"
