Backstory (if they have one): Talon grew up in a family of seven, smack dab in the middle as the third child with two older and younger siblings. As can be imagined, his early childhood was very chaotic and all over the place. There were periods where he got all the attention or none at all. Things turned for the worse when his father got arrested though. His mother, bless her soul, had to deal with 5 kids all on her own. Talon usually spent time with his younger siblings when his mother couldn’t take them all on at once. From there, his family seemed to shrink. His older brothers started going out and never came home till late, and eventually they were gone, off to college. 3 kids is easier than 5 though, so Talon starts getting a lot more attention, being called the man of the house and such. After school he would help his mother do chores and look after his siblings and make meals, but with all these expectations put on him at home, his grades slip, not that they were particularly remarkable to begin with. And then one day, it all sort of crashes down. His grades plummet and he’s unable to focus on anything related to school. He becomes extremely forgetful and doesn’t remember anything he’s told to do, and even when he does, it’s difficult to make himself do it. It was only then that his mother realized the problems Talon might have, so she took him to doctor and several appointments with other professionals later, Talon is diagnosed with ADHD. If people weren’t already talking behind his back before, they definitely were now. He started hearing all this stuff about how it’s so sad how he turned out and that he wasted his potential. He rolled with the punches, and with medication was able to focus again and finally get somewhat back on track with his school work. But even then, it was still difficult, especially when he had friends, bullies, and home life to deal with. The only other thing that seemed to keep him still and calm was the piano, of all things. It was on of those rare Sundays where they all went to church, and instead of listening to the sermon, Talon was fascinated by the pianist that played in the background. Staying behind afterwords, he went up to the piano and played a few of the chords he’d heard the pianist play, shocking everyone by how perfectly he replicated them. From then on, music took control of Talon’s life. It seemed to be the only thing he was really good at. From piano he branched out to other instruments and started taking music classes, and even delved into rapping and singing. He’d had a love of music before, but this really ignited his passion for it. No one else seemed to share this passion, however, except for his friends. His mother was worried for his future, his siblings just didn’t seem to understand, and his enemies only used his passion to attack him. He managed to earn a high school diploma, but after a while it didn’t matter. It seemed that only his love for music was really motivating him, and he has no idea how to make it on his own.
Looks: Talon stands at around 5’10 with a skinny, angular frame and incredibly dark skin, so that when light hits it it looks like a shimmer of stars in the night sky. His face is oval shaped, but like his body, it’s also slightly bony and angular. Though with his full lips and wide nose, it does give his face a more rounder feel. He has hooded eyes the color of charcoal, usually holding a small glint of mischief. His thick, black hair is set into cornrows running along his skull, sometimes covered by his dad’s white baseball cap. Usually seen in a simple army jacket with a few old stains, a white tank top, shorts, and black socks tucked into a pair of leather flip flops, a cigarette resting between his fingers.
Personality: Falling on the more extroverted side of things, Talon has no trouble when it comes to meeting and forming relationships with people. Whether those relationships are good or bad doesn’t really matter to him till later down the line though, and as result has ended up with more enemies than friends. He doesn’t let it get him down, in fact he rather likes confrontation and will spend half his time arguing and fighting with someone and the other half chilling with his friends. In doing so he puts up a chill, cool persona that can deflect anything thrown at him, but on the inside he’s an emotional mess. And dumb. Kind of an idiot. And sometimes that persona cracks and you’re left with a roasting competition turned actual fist-fight in the back of an old lady’s back yard (it’s a long story). Now that he’s older he’s grown out of that though, with a few exceptions.
Hobbies/Interests/Habits/Favorites: talking, running, being with friends, grilled cheese sandwiches, pretty people, playing piano, fancy suits but mixed with casual clothing, that feeling when you make a good comeback and everyone goes “OOOOHHHH.” yeah. That. His music is mainly influenced by the songs he hears and likes, and doesn’t subscribe to a specific genre.
