"Bossy, are we?" Simon said amusedly. "I won't move, don't worry, kitten."
"Bossy, are we?" Simon said amusedly. "I won't move, don't worry, kitten."
Beckett began to respond, but after properly processing Simon’s words he froze. With a half dopey grin, he mumbled under his breath and shoved his face back in Simon’s chest, face flushed bright red.
"What? Am I making you flustered?" Simon said in a teasing tone. "If it's that easy to get you all blushy and cute, I'll call you kitten all the time."
Beckett groaned half-heartedly. He didn't quite mind the nickname, though it made his face burn. In the best, most pleasant way, admittedly. "Very ironic that you're calling me kitten," he mumbled after a moment.
“If you’re going to view me as a cat, it certainly isn’t going to be a kitten. I should hope its a strong, strapping tom. You know, to protect you.”
"Right, of course. How could I forget." Beckett laughed, turning his head to the side slightly. "You're so very intimidating. Who wouldn't be afraid of a competitive chess-playing ghost who haunted some librarian for five years because he was so hopelessly in love?"
“I was protecting you! I could have scared you. Or politely asked you not to live here. Also, I was lonely.” Simon scowled at Beckett.
"Ah, you're right. Protective and lonely. That strikes much more fear into the heart," he hummed with a teasing grin. After looking Simon over for a second, he pressed a light kiss to his cheek.
"I'm terrifying! What are you talking about? You about shit yourself the first time you saw me," Simon said, leaning into the kiss.
“Because all I saw was a strange tall man that I’d never seen before walking around my home like he owned the place. And I’d just about got hit by a car fifteen minutes beforehand.”
"Still. I gave you a fright. And I do own the place, actually." Simon tucked his face into Beckett's neck.
“Mm, not legally,” Beckett murmured. He gladly accepted the affection, one arm thrown around Simon’s shoulders and his other hand running fingers through his hair idly.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." Simon slid his hands up Beckett's back, kissing his collarbone.
Beckett chuckled, melting into the touch with an affectionate, albeit shaky sigh. It was definitely new, but it was a good, heart-pounding kind of new. Something he welcomed eagerly.
"Is this alright? I know you said you'd tell me but I just want to make sure," Simon said, pulling away slightly.
He rolled his eyes, though when Simon pulled back he dropped his amused expression immediately. "No- I mean yes, don't- This is good. Don't… y'know." Beckett didn't want to say the word, already flushed cheeks too embarrassed to actually speak the last bit of his sentence and hoping that Simon would get the message.
(sorry that took so long)
"Dear, it's very cute that I can fluster you like that. Alright, I won't move." Simon shifted to get more comfortable.
