"Alright," Simon pushed the door open to the boba shop and brushed his hair out of his face. "After you, my dear."
"Alright," Simon pushed the door open to the boba shop and brushed his hair out of his face. "After you, my dear."
"even after we cut it its still persistent, huh?" Raz teased lightly, "maybe we can braid yours too." He smiled softly as he entered the cafe, immediately drawn in by the expansive menu depicting the many types of boba drinks the place offered
"I'd probably let you if you asked politely," Simon said. "Do you like spicy food?"
Raz gasped softly "can I please? You'd look so nice with braids, especially with longer hair than I do." He bounced in place giddeliy, both excited to try boba and just in general being on an actual date. He couldn't remember a time where he could actually take a chance to relax and take a day off for himself. Even before the Diety disappeared, his job as a guardian angel has consumed most of his life, happily of course but Razielle had never thought to give himself a break.
He shook himself from his thoughts and glanced up at Simon "uhm, sort of. Depends of the amount used."
Simon smiled at Razielle's enthusiasm. "I suppose so. If you want just a little bit of spicy, you should try the Dragon ramen. It's good."
“Why does that sound spicier than you say." Raz muttered skeptically, squinting to better see the menu. He eventually found what Simon was talking about, the picture beside the description looking amazing. "But I'll trust you on this one. It actually looks really good." He said, stepping forwards and giving the cashier a warm smile. "I'll take an original milk boba and a dragon ramen for here." He said, glancing at Simon
"I want a taro tea and the Flame ramen, please," Simon said. "Yeah, it is good! Have I ever lied to you?"
"yes actually, an hour ago when you told me you were planning nothing with Noah bit in fact it was this little date." Raz replied with a knowing smile, handing over a twenty to the cashier and taking the receipt with a thank you. He stepped aside to wait for their order, taking the time to look around the place. It was cozy, couches as well as tables were offered as seating with cornered off areas for more privacy but it still felt inviting. "So how'd you find this place?"
"Okay, that was a warranted lie. I wouldn't lie to you about how spicy something is. Wouldn't want to see your pretty self in pain." Simon tilted his head, smiling back at Razielle despite himself. "I was just. . . wandering downtown, I guess. I dunno. There was a sign outside."
"mhmmm sure." Raz teased with a giggle, leaning his head against Simon's arm to hide the blush on his cheeks at being called pretty. "Huh, I've lived around hear for a few years and never saw this place before. Then again I never really went out other than a few places, nothing to out of the way."
Simon put his hand on Razielle's shoulder and pulled him closer. "That surprises me. You seem like the exploring type."
Raz nuzzled into Simon's side, breathing in the cinnamon scent "I would love to explore the world more, even if it's just around here where we live but I've always either had work or been called back back to heaven. The amount of free time on do have, I mostly spend home relaxing."
Simon flushed slightly. "We could go exploring tomorrow. If you want," Simon said, settling into Razielle's warmth.
"sure! I'd like that. Maybe we can take Noah along with us if that's okay with you. I'd have to do a bit more paperwork for that though since I'll have him longer than overnight…." He shrugged slightly "they've never had a problem with it before, hopefully nothing is different now." He muttered, taking a deep breath. Noah had been one of the hardest kids Raz had had to take care of as a guardian angel. But that struggle made Raz all the more attached to Noah, and he assumed, Noah to him since Everytime Noah had a fight with his family, he'd come to Raz.
"Of course Noah can some with us," Simon said as the server set their food on the counter. "I'll carry the ramen; you get the drinks?"
Raz smiled softly and reached up to press a kiss to Simon'a cheek. "Thank you, I'm glad you two get along." he nodded and stepped back up to the counter to grab the drinks, tilting his head curiously when he saw that the cups were sealed with a plastic top, uike normal fast food drinks. "How to we drink this, exactly?" He asked, looking a the large boba straw in hand. "There's no hole for it."
"Jesus, you're adorable. C'mere. Sit down," Simon said, putting the ramen on a table. He took his drink and a straw, unwrapping it. "You just stab it," he said, popping the straw through the seal. "Just like that. But make sure you use the pointy side or it won't work."
Raz flushed lightly and settled into the booth across from Simon, watching him as he unwraped the straw and promptly stabbed it into the cup. Raz slowly unwrapped his own straw, checking to make sure he had the pointy end of straw pointed towards the cup. "Okay…this seems very precarious." He muttered with a light laugh. He closed his eyes and turned his head away as he stabbed the cup, only opening his eyes a few seconds later when it was safe. "Hey it didn't explode!" He took his cup in his hand and curled up comfortably in the booth, taking tentative sips to get used to the taste. "This is really good. And really sweet." He hummed softly, surprised when he found one of the boba pearls. "I honestly don't know how I didn't try this before."
"You're too much," Simon said, shaking his head. "If you were too scared, I would have done it for you," he said teasingly. "We can come back sometime. So you can try other flavors."
"I wasnt scared, I just didn't know you had to stab it. I didn't want to spill the drink." He pouted, putting down his drink and pulling over his bowl of ramen, breathing the broth. "This smells so good. I've only ever had ramen in those cheap packs that come in bulk at the store, never fresh like here." He took one of the sets of chopsticks and happily started eating, slurping up one of the noodles to see how spicy it was. "Mm, it's really nice, sort of spicy but more like a comforting warmth that a burning sensation."
"See, I told you. I didn't lie. And yeah, homemade ramen is so much better," he said, stirring his ramen. "I never eat storebought anymore."
"I'm sorry for not trusting you on the ramen." He apologized, smiling happily as he slurped up his ramen. "Homemade anything is better if you know how to make it. And if you don't, that's why places like this exist. I don't think I'll eat store bought not that I've had this." He took a long sip of the boba, welcoming the sweetness that offered relief to the slight burning sensation in his mouth. "Alright I'm feeling the heat now." He laughed and fanned his mouth before going in for another bite. "We should grab Noah one for dinner, not sure he's up to cooking at this time. Especially when he's distracted by Spooks and Jack."
(sorry that took so long)
"Yeah, what kind of ramen do you think Noah would like? Extra spicy? Plain?" Simon tilted his head. "Yeah, Spooks and Jack are the ultimate distraction. But they're cute, y'know. So I'd say it's worth it."
(it's all good!)
"I know he likes sweet and sour foods." He said, taking another long sip of the milk tea. "And one of these. Do they have chai boba's?" He glanced over at the menu, looking for something Noah might like. He looked back at Simon and nodded his head "oh definitely worth all the attention they get." He laughed softly and sipped at the broth at the bottom of the bowl, savoring the warmth
"Yeah, they do have chai. They also have hot and sour ramen. Do you think he'd like that?" Sim tilted his head, stirring his ramen.
