Kit was exhausted, her hands on her knees as she panted. She looked over at the crowd and noticed a small wave coming from Elide. She jogged over and kneeled in front of Elide. Despite her tiredness, a smile was still wide on her face.
"Wassup, Elide?" she greeted, "You enjoying the game?" Kit usually wouldn't care much about this stuff. In fact, she usually spent halftime cooling down a little and getting some energy back, but that wasn't important to her right now. She locked eyes with the shorter girl, something within her own was recognizable, but undefinable.
Elide smiled at Kit, wide and genuine as she nodded, "Surprisingly I am! You're amazing, by the way, like I don't understand how you can do all of that so effortlessly," The look in Kit's eyes made Elide blush a light shade of red, "It's incredible, really it is."
She knew she might've come off as fan-girling over the taller female, but she couldn't help it. She'd been in a trance the entire game as she watched on. So much so she didn't care abot the loud noises and the constricting crowd.
Kit's signature smirk spread across her face. "I'm glad you are!" she chirped. "And thanks, it's really just a lot of practice." She ran a hand through her hair, some strands sticking up in this way and that. She looked back at her teammates who were gathering back onto the court, then she looked back toward Elide. "Well, looks like I've got to go," she sighed as she got up, "see you after the game!"
She jogged back onto the court and prepared for the second half of the game, full of vigor. Each step she took had more energy, her eyes had a newfound glow. Her eyebrows lowered in determination. Each pass, block, and dribble had new strength. Not just the strength of one, but two.
Elide was slightly upset that Kit had to go back on the court, wanting to stay and talk to her for a little longer. She knew it wasn’t possible as she waved goodbye to the other female, a smile gracing her lips. She knew the game was going to be good, she had a good feeling in her stomach about it.
As the game pressed on it became more intense, Elise becoming more and more invested in the game. She cheered along with the crowd with every goal scored and booed with them when the other team ;8; the same. It was coming down to the final moments and she was on the edge of her seat.
