"So, what are we gonna do with the lump in the corner?" One of them jerked his head towards Arthur. "We'll see. Apparently he's worth a lot to the right buyer…"
"So, what are we gonna do with the lump in the corner?" One of them jerked his head towards Arthur. "We'll see. Apparently he's worth a lot to the right buyer…"
Arthur felt himself pale, a wave of panic washing through him. I need to get out of here…. now… I can't let them sell me off to the hunters….
"But I don't know. He reminds me a lot of…" He couldn't bring himself to say the name. "Jaxon?" "Yeah, him." Jaxon was Ryder's older brother who had disappeared a few years earlier.
Arthur kept trying to move, but he knew it was useless, he wouldn't be able to get away for at least an hour, and by tht time they'd probably have him bound hand and foot.
Ryder sighed. "We can't get rid of him. It'll hurt too much. Who knows, maybe he'll be good luck with finding him." "Why do you never say Jaxon's name?" "I can't. I just…can't."
Arthur relaxed little at the words, only just able to register them. I still need to get out ofhere ASAP… he thought.
"Until then, we'll wait for him to come around." His eyes flicked to Arthur, watching him carefully.
Arthur finally gave up, and let his body take over as the impending weight of darkness he'd been fighting enveloped him.
Ryder sighed, pulling a cigarette and lighter out of his bag. "I'm gonna go destress. Don't wait up." He lit the cigarette and walked out, watching the smoke curl around him like a spirit.
Arthur had fllen unconscious, and ws sleeping peacefully.
(My "a" key hates me.)
(I feel that)
He made shapes in the smoke, twisting the dark mist into whatever his mind desired. It helped him calm down.
Arthur slept calmly, his messy hair falling into his face.
It didn't take long for the smoke to turn into images of his brother. Jaxon's constant smirk and sparkle in his eyes.
Arthur frowned in his sleep, instinctively curling in on himself as the nightmares started again.
He sighed, forcing the smoke away. It hurt too much to think about Jaxon right now.
Arthur suddenly flinched, as if something was hurting him. He flinched again a moment later, whimpering.
The nicotine in his system calmed his nerves, relaxing his tensed nerves.
Arthur flinched again, curling into himself as if to hide. Another whimper of fear escaped.
He made his way back, just leaning against the wall and watching the boys interact with each other.
Arthur flinched again, his face contorted in invisible fear.
He noticed Arthur and frowned. What was going on in that head of his?
Arthur whimpered again, still trapped in his nightmare.
He made his way over and sat by his side, just watching him quietly.
Arthur shuddered, his face contorted in terror.
