Jo shifts slightly, waking up a bit.

"Hey. . . why are you laying down on me?" they murmur.

"I was going to ask you that same question. "

"Why I'm laying down on you?" Jo murmurs, very confused.

"Why am I on you when I fell asleep here alone. "

Jo shrugs tiredly.

"I dunno, ask God or whoever else you believe in. . . I'm going back to sleep. . ." they yawn, immediately passing out again.

"Are you fucking kidding me? "

Jo - being asleep - doesn't answer, his breathing deep and even.

They looked peaceful in their sleep, for an amoral killer that is.

"Jo-jo…. Wake the fuck up! "

Jo grumbles but doesn't really wake up; it was almost as though they were doing their best to annoy Nikki even when they were asleep.

"Oh my god, JO! " she poked him in the chest with her fist (not a punch a poke)

Jo opens one eye slowly, making a sort of growling noise.

"What. Do. You. Want?"

"Answers,"

"For what, exactly? If you couldn't tell, I'm tired as hell and need sleep, so make it snappy, sweetheart." Jo sighs opening his other eye and focusing on what little of Nikki's face they could see.

"Why was I sleeping on you."

"I moved you, next question."

"Why did you"

"Because I wanted to, next question."

"Can you give me actual answers? "

"I am giving you actual answers; and besides, I already told you yesterday why I would be doing this didn't I? You know, when I had you on the ground?"

"Well yeah I know…. But-"

"But nothing. I'm going to go back to sleep now, so unless the cops show up or your bleeding, don't wake me up. Or, alternatively, when you can tell me how you feel, wake me up." Jo yawns, closing their eyes again.

" _{are you mad at me?"}

Jo chuckles.

"Sweetheart, if I was mad, you wouldn't still be on the couch with me." they reply without opening their eyes.

Nikki was silent for a second before laying her head back down a taking a deep breath it felt like her stomach was in a knot

Jo absently reaches a hand back and ruffles Nikki's hair, without saying a word, then falls back asleep.
