( don't worry, it's okay!!! if you ever need time off, please take it! )
Jack looked at her in complete awe. He didn't know that the woman would have even been able to speak, and this astonished him more than his own knife did. He slipped into a hallway, to try and avoid being in sight. He crooked his head around the dividing wall, to where he could see her just fine, but at risk of exposure. He didn't want to be seen, but he wanted to watch her. It was a half-decent risk to take, and he was going to accept the consequences for it.
(Thank you so much, really. How are you?)
With the phone off and her brother idly staring through his computer screen, Ana kind of stood awkwardly in the middle of the room.
Then, squaring her shoulders, she walked to the kitchen to get a knife, Precautions, right? And tucking the knife in her belt loops, she started locking every window and door one by one.
( Good, tired. It's all normality at this point, waking up to want to go back to sleep.. Have things brightened up since yesterday? )
Jack looked around the room that he was in. He knew that standing behind Ana would be his best bet of not being seen, caring less that there was a face-time video on the computer. Who wouldn't want to see him? He laughed a little as he finally got behind Ana, careful not to be too loud.
From the computer, Ana's brother started yelling and waving desperately as his sister stood in the kitchen, looking out of the locked window, back to the very person she was looking around outside for. Of course, she couldn't hear her brother's desperation.
She focused on the shadows outside, gradually growing into nighttime, until the darkness of the window showed a man standing outside. He stood still, staring ahead, and Ana swallowed. And suddenly she noticed she was standing in front of him, meaning— meaning he was right behind her. She froze.
(Yeah, I can get that. And not really but thank you for asking)
( Mmm. I see. Well, if everything falls apart, I still support you. )
Jack smiled, rather freakishly, as he moved closer to the window. "Hey there, gorgeous," He said, loudly. He pulled his knife out, and traced the window, designing it with a cut out swirl. "I see you've begun to board up, oh, what a shame. Truly a shame, my dear." He purred, tilting his head. "I just want to come a little closer, why won't you allow that?"
Step by step, she turned around. His mouth was moving, he was speaking to her. She could only stare helplessly, her eyes following his knife as it sliced through the air. Her own grip tightened on the knife she held behind her back.
"Dear me, someone's afraid. Pity I won't be able to see you like this for long, you'll be out cold by the time I get close enough." He said, somehow louder. Jack decided, then, to go on ahead and kill her, with out waiting further. He gleamed with excitement, maybe this kill would be more interesting than he had originally assumed!
(Thank, you by the way. It means a lot.)
What was she supposed to do? Her gaze flitted to her computer, where her brother was watching wide-eyed and terrified. He started signing to her, and she nodded conspicuously at him.
( I know how it feels to be low, or need somebody. That's why I'll be here for those in need. :) )
Jack took an experimental swing at Ana, as he wanted to get a preview of hope she would defend herself. He purposely made it easy to dodge, and easy to come back from. "Come on! Fight back, would you?"
Oh no. She signed for help at her brother, ducking down and nearly slipping. Handing onto the counter, she pushed herself out to the side and landed on the floor, scrambling backwards towards the other kitchen wall.
"So you prefer to dodge, rather than attack? This'll be a blast for me." Jack cheered, as he took a step back. Launching himself off of the floor, he went at her again, with a little more force. He swung at Ana's right shoulder. It could have possibly sliced her arm, just a very small bit.
Letting out a squeal, Ana got her to her feet and jabbed at him with the knife she whipped out from behind her. She bent her knees and kept jabbing at the air between them, eyeing the hallway leading to the upstairs.
Jack was unable to follow Ana's eyes, focusing more on the knife that kept trying to stab at him. "Don't. You. Dare!" He exclaimed, as one of the woman's jabs actually hit him. A small trickle of blood came from his upper right leg. He became more rushed, moving closer to her as his swings became more violent, more targeted.
A scream caught in her throat and she let out a guttural whine. If she could make it upstairs, every room was lockable, and she could use the mirrors. She steeled herself and with one last daring swing at his face, she took off running into the hallway, the knife gripped tightly in her arm now throbbing with pain. She wasn't the fastest runner, however, and the hallway led off into 3 different rooms with the stairs at the far end.
( Sorry for the slow reply! Preparing for tests- )
Jack stumbled off of the floor as he attempted to follow her. He sped up as his feet continued to slap against the floor, his leg keeping him behind a little bit. "You're mine, girl. All mine!" He cried, with such a hungry expression. His eyes were filled with excitement, and rage. He wouldn't stop until her body was completely destroyed.
(You're not slow at all, take your time :) good luck on your tests!)
(Also my god this guy is psycho)
She ran and ran as fast as she could, finally grabbing onto the handrail and launching herself up the steps, taking them three at a time. In her fear, with no free hands, she stumbled. She landed on her hands and a shooting pain jolted through her injured arm, another intense ache plaguing her leg as her shin crashed down on a step below her. She let out a shrill cry, tears rising in her eyes, blurring the staircase as she painfully pushed herself upwards and limped up the few remaining steps.
( Thanks!!! I've never tried playing a killer, so it's a relief that you think so!! Ana's so precious, though. I can't help but feel bad for Jack's wanting to kill her lol. )
Jack noticed Ana's use of the rail, noticing it sped her up a lot more than her legs could on their own. He roughly grabbed it, and maneuvered the stairs quickly as he would be able to manage. "Don't you dare get away from me!" He sneered, lunging up the last few steps. He considered tossing one of his smaller knives at her, but didn't know how well it would do. He, with eyes glued shut, tossed one at moderate speed towards her.
Biting her tongue to hold in a scream, she dove to the floor and rolled to the side, seeing the knife whizz past right above her eyes. She jumped to her feet, ignoring the awful pain now spreading to her head, and raced to the nearest bedroom room still limping.
(Well let's keep the character dynamic separate then ^^)
( What I'm trying to do haha. "I can never let feelings intrude on my words of roleplay." )
Jack dragged himself to follow her, blinded by the rage of his beautiful mind. He was so intrigued by the other's will to fight, it made him almost proud of her. He bounced off of the walls, attempting to get in close range again. His final strike would be made here, he assumed that in his mind. It was the only thing that seemed clear enough to him.
(Exactly right)
Finally, after a painstaking minute, Ana threw her shoulder against bedroom door and tumbled into it, kicking the door closed and kicking it shut. She hoisted herself to her knees and locked it, leaning her back against it and sinking to the floor. When were the police going to get here? She didn’t know how long she could hold this guy off in her condition.
Her knife lay on the floor a few feet away, already thinly layered with blood from the gash in the man’s leg. A fresh surge of courage washed over her. She reached towards the bed for a blanket and, still sitting against the door, she tied it tightly around her shin in a kind of splint that would minimise the pain and help her move. As for her arm, the cut was shallow enough to ignore.
Jack lunged for the door, and aggressively went at the doorknob. The doorknow, despite Jack's amounts of pulling, would not give in. He yowled a few curses at it, and banged a fist on the door itself. It seemed to be too sturdy for him to break, by any means. He stubled back a few feet, and fell onto the wall. He slid his body down to the floor, and grit his teeth. "I… I know you'll let me in!" He shouted at Ana.
(Hiya sorry for taking so long!)
She wrinkled her nose and shook off the fear pawing at her heart. She knew there was a door leading into a bathroom a few feet away, and then a door to the hallway in the bathroom. If she could make it back into the hallway while the madman looked for her in this room, then maybe she could hide and hold him off. Maybe she could even manage to run back downstairs–she knew a few hiding spots that might hold him off a while.
If she stood up now, it might take him a while to try the door again, giving her some extra time.
