Plot: Two childhood friends have their lives torn into mayhem when their families arrange them to be married. Well, that's the simple version. Content warnings for the general story (below) are as follows: internalized/just general homophobia, transphobia, emotional abuse, unsupportive relatives, a general implied threat of violence/punishment, arranged marriage.
Judas Elmstone knew for as long as he could remember that he wasn't a woman, but nobody truly saw him for who he was, for his potential. He was always a curious child, too much so for his own good as his father always told him, unladylike as his mother always chastised, telling him he'd never find a suitable husband and what would become of him then?
That's where his childhood best friend had come in. Benjamin Kaylock had always been so gentle, sneaking through the window in the middle of the night and having long conversations about the world, about philosophy, sharing stories and being each other's support for as long as either of them could remember. Benjamin had always understood Judas and known him for exactly who he was, growing unfortunately fond of his friend as he knew his feelings would likely never be reciprocated. Poor him, I sympathise.
However, with the amount of time they spent together their families grew suspicious, but were happy with the match. Basically, they were both under the impression that Judas and Benjamin were courting but trying to keep it a secret, but since it seemed a good match to them and they thought maybe Benjamin's 'disposition' (whatever the hell they mean by that) could keep Judas in line. Oh honey, they wish. But a marriage was arranged and Benjamin convinced Judas to just go along with it, it would please their families and allow for stability and a comfortable life with a reasonable inheritance to keep them afloat for the rest of their days, seeing as Benjamin was an only-child and Judas's family seemed more fond of Benjamin then their actual children. Oops.
Judas certainly isn't happy with this arrangement but grudgingly goes along with it, the logic behind this being he doesn't have many other options and maybe he can eventually run away from the situation he's in, leave everyone behind, and pursue the life he actually wants to live.
This story was a really old project from like four years ago I just dusted off but I wanted to rewrite this because I have. Ideas. So yeah let's RP!
Rules and character templates:
First off, I want a writing sample. Third person only, preferably past tense and at least two paragraphs long.
Also, this RP will contain darker themes like violence, self-harm, and general unhealthy relationship dynamics as well as NSFW. Smutty stuff won't take up much of the actual plot but it. It will happen.
That being said, NOBODY UNDER 18 JOIN. YOU MUST BE 18 OR OLDER TO ROLEPLAY. I am 19 years old, to confirm, and I would feel very uncomfortable if a minor joined. If you are even a DAY under 18 then you are 11 years old and must be protected from this filth.
We can set some limits of things we specifically don't want to RP, mainly in regards to smut but also for general content but keep in mind this RP will have some shitty stuff happen and I would warn you that if you have any specific triggers that seem like they're likely to crop up in here then you probably shouldn't join. Stay safe!
While general bigotry will be explored in this RP, that is no excuse to be bigoted outside of the roleplay and if you are bigoted in any way I will steal your fingers.
Please follow at least loosely along the characterizations I set for the characters, I kept it pretty vague and you can have some room to customize the characters themselves (I'll provide templates below) but like. Interpret based on text I suppose.

I would prefer to play the role of Judas but you can choose whoever you want to play tbh I'm not picky.

Personality: I left it vague so mostly up to you but I did originally write him as a very devoted gentle nerd who's a bit dumb but well meaning.

Gender: chaos trans dude, he/him. Currently closeted to everyone but Benjamin and a few close friends.
Sexuality: I think he'd describe himself as just "queer" if he was using modern terminology since he has no real preference for gender but he is rather particular about what the person is like and how established and intimate their relationship already is. Closer terms to describe him would be bi/pansexual and quoiromantic/demiromantic, again with no real preference for gender. But he's not big on questioning himself and who he is, he know what he likes and is at peace with that.
Appearance: idk man
Personality: definitely very determined and cunning, and willing to sacrifice everything to get what he wants but otherwise I'll leave it open.
